Urban Villain: The Game of Wealth and Women

Chapter 82: CH: 82 Yan Ruyue is unable to control herself!

{Chapter: 82 Yan Ruyue is unable to control herself!}

A sharp sense of soreness began to climb within her, surging upwards with alarming intensity.

It was as though her body were a fragile vessel, filled to the brim with water, pushing against its limits.

Yan Ruyue felt as if she were about to explode.

She squeezed her hands into tight fists, her nails digging into her palms, only to release them moments later, flexing her fingers. With a forced smile, she made a fist-pump gesture as if rallying herself. "Good luck!" she murmured, the words coming out like a prayer.

With a soft bite on her red, tender lips, she quickly turned away, her back to Lin Yuan, and without a moment's hesitation, dashed back toward the house.

From where he stood, Lin Yuan watched her retreating figure with a sharp eye.

Shen Lan's voice echoed in his mind. [Master, aren't you going a bit too far? Yan Ruyue is on the verge of tears.]

Lin Yuan's response was calm, even amused. "Is it too much?"

Shen Lan pressed on. [You know she's barely holding it together. You've been speaking of things that will crush her heart. I fear her opinion of you may plummet.]

Lin Yuan's lips curved into a slow smile, his eyes narrowing with quiet satisfaction. "Actually… this is exactly what I enjoy seeing."

On the other side...

Yan Ruyue bolted home, her steps driven by an impulse she didn't fully understand. She didn't want to face her mother or anyone else—not now.

She locked the door behind her.

In the solitude of the bathroom, Yan Ruyue sank to the floor, drawing her knees up to her chest. Her hands clasped her legs tightly, her nails digging so deeply into her flesh she barely noticed the pain. Her delicate, beautiful face contorted in distress.

She didn't understand why she felt this way.

All she knew was that there was something piercing her heart, a sharp agony that only deepened when Lin Yuan casually mentioned his blind date.

She couldn't breathe for a moment, the weight of the words settling over her chest. Yet, in the midst of the torment, she had still found the strength to wish him well.

She didn't want to feel this way.

She didn't want any of this to be true.

Now, she wanted nothing more than to slap herself for wishing him luck. But, if she could rewind time, she wasn't sure what she would do differently. She seemed unable to stop herself.

"Why? Why am I doing this?"

Was it because Lin Yuan had turned her down again?

Why did this overwhelming sadness grip her so tightly?

It was as if a frenzy had taken over her body, waves of anguish crashing over her. Her heart was under siege, assaulted by a corrosive storm of emotion.

It felt as if the inside of her body was going through a madness of waves.

Numerous acids and harsh solutions furiously corroded her heart and her whole body.

With a sudden jerk, she stood, her movements sharp and hurried as she moved toward the mirror.

Two distinct trails of tears had formed on her face, and her lips bore the marks of her own bite, tiny streaks of blood staining the pale skin.

She tried to wipe away the tears, but they continued to fall, relentless. Each swipe of her hand seemed to only summon more, her head bowing lower, almost to the sink.

She wasn't crying because of Lin Yuan's blind date.

She cried because she realized her mind and body are out of her control.

She was crying because she could feel herself losing control.

She despised this helpless feeling, this betrayal of her own heart.

She is so sick of this feeling, but she can't seem to control herself.

And yet, she couldn't stop.

Elsewhere…

Lin Yuan sat in his Lamborghini, speaking on the phone with his mother, Meng Yuelan.

He asked about the details of the blind date, though his interest was minimal. He was going simply to appease her, to ease her concerns about his future.

"Time Coffee Hill, south of the city, right?" he confirmed. "And I should hold the 'The Voice Express' magazine?"

"Under the seat of the car?" Lin Yuan glanced down and indeed found the magazine tucked there.

"Alright, then."

He quickly drove to the café.

Time Coffee Hill, located in a quieter area of the city, was hardly a bustling spot. The café itself was nearly empty when Lin Yuan entered, and as soon as he did, every eye in the room turned to him.

With his striking appearance and carefully selected attire, he certainly made an impression. His mother had insisted he dress sharply for the occasion, so Lin Yuan had complied, wearing a custom suit tailored to perfection.

Today, his watch had also been swapped out—a Vacheron Constantin Malte series, platinum with diamonds, worth well over ten million. The luxury of his ensemble was evident.

When Lin Yuan entered, the atmosphere shifted. His presence commanded attention, and the room seemed to hold its breath. Men looked on with envy, jealousy, and a sense of inferiority, while the women were drawn to him, captivated by his youthful, handsome face and undeniable charm.

He moved lazily across the room, indifferent to the gazes of admiration and awe.

His eyes scanned the café. No one was holding the magazine.

With a sigh, he rolled it up and walked to the counter.

"A cappuccino," he requested nonchalantly.

The barista, briefly stunned by his looks, nodded in agreement. "Of course, right away."

Lin Yuan found a seat and, once again, placed the magazine on the table, opting to focus on his phone instead of the blind date. He casually spoke to Qiu Wanxi on the line for a few minutes.

Just as the conversation was wrapping up, he felt a tap on his shoulder.

"Excuse me, is anyone sitting here?" a soft voice asked.

Lin Yuan turned, and his gaze locked onto a stunning blonde woman.

They both froze for a moment, shocked by the encounter.

"So, it's you?" they said simultaneously.

Lin Yuan blinked, taken aback. He hadn't expected to see someone he knew here, let alone someone he wasn't on the best terms with.

The woman before him was none other than Qiao Siying—the mixed-race beauty who had studied abroad, the outspoken 'Queen of Freedom and Equality.' She was also the Young Lady of the Qiao Family, renowned for her contempt of the wealthy elite.

Qiao Siying, standing with a copy of The Voice Express, seemed equally stunned to see him.

Lin Yuan's mind clicked into place. Meng Yuelan had mentioned the blind date being with a woman whose beauty rivaled Yan Ruyue's.

Now, he understood. It was Qiao Siying.

And she was indeed beautiful.

Her mixed heritage had given her a rare, exquisite appearance, and her figure—flawlessly proportioned—was one of the finest he had ever seen.

Yet, Lin Yuan couldn't shake the feeling that something was off about her. Despite her beauty and wealth, Qiao Siying had a certain… unpredictability.

Qiao's family is also very rich but Lin Yuan feels that Qiao Siying has a problem in her head.

Although Lin Yuan noticed Qiao Siying holding the "The Voice Express" magazine, the latter didn't notice his because it was on the table at that time.

Qiao Siying didn't pay attention to Lin Yuan's weird eyes either.

As soon as she saw Lin Yuan, she became angry, and immediately grabbed Lin Yuan's suit and said, "Finally, I caught you! Hurry up and return my 500,000 yuan!"
