Though startled by this, she obeyed.

After she sat, Ashen came and sat beside her, holding her right hand in between his hands.

He looked at her with a regretful gaze and spoke in an apologetic voice: "I'd like to apologize to you."

"Huh?" She was visibly confused by his apology as she asked: "What are you apologizing for, your highness?"

"For forcing myself onto you!" He lowered his head. "I'm ashamed of my behavior."

He continued: "I shouldn't have done that to you without your consent. It was wrong, no matter how you look. I can't change the past, but I can change the present and future."

Raising his head, he gazed at her with a firm gaze: "I'll give you your freedom. As an apology, I'll give you wealth equal to the Bi family from which you were separated. You can live your life more luxuriously than you used to in the Southern Empire."

However, Despite all the Ashen promised to give, Lady Suying didn't look delighted or satisfied with his offer. Instead, she had a sad look.
