Chapter 756: Mutant Island or Orc Fields?

Villain Ch 756. Mutant Island or Orc Fields?

"Yeah," Allen echoed, nodding along to Azura's words. Despite their conversation, his thoughts were elsewhere, preoccupied with the impending arrival of Vivian and the others. Ten minutes had already passed, and he knew they could appear at any moment.

Azura's question snapped him out of his reverie, and he turned to her with a smile. "So? Where are we going to hunt this time?" she asked curiously, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "I mean, this place seems to be surrounded by fields and dungeons filled with low to middle-level monsters," she continued, her curiosity piqued by their current location.

Azura's question drew Allen's attention, prompting him to consider their options for hunting grounds. As he walked alongside her, he mentally sifted through the various spots he had in mind. One of the easiest places for hunting was Black Castle, known for its abundance of monsters suitable for players of their level.

However, the castle was situated quite a distance away, making it less convenient for their current situation. Additionally, Allen knew that Black Castle had gained popularity among high-level players, meaning it would likely be crowded and competitive.

"Mutant Island or the orcs' territory," Allen suggested, his voice casual as he continued their leisurely stroll through the village. He observed the other players around them, noting the relaxed atmosphere that differed from the hustle and bustle of the city. In the village, there was no sense of urgency, and everyone seemed to be enjoying the slower pace of life.

Mutant Island and the orcs' territory were both viable options for their hunting expedition. Mutant Island was known for its diverse range of creatures, offering plenty of opportunities for experience and loot. On the other hand, the orcs' territory boasted a higher density of monsters, providing a greater challenge but also potentially greater rewards and EXP.

Azura furrowed her brows in confusion as Allen mentioned Mutant Island. "Mutant Island? Isn't that only accessible from Berlt harbor?" she questioned, trying to make sense of his choice.

Allen nodded in affirmation. "Yep, that's right," he confirmed. "But the harbor is just a short three-map journey from here. Plus, the fields along the way are teeming with low-level monsters and offer some pretty scenic views. It'll be a nice change of pace after everything that went down yesterday," he explained, his voice laced with a hint of excitement.

Azura couldn't help but agree with Allen's reasoning. "Hmm, you've got a point," she admitted, nodding thoughtfully. The prospect of a leisurely stroll through picturesque landscapes sounded appealing, especially after the intensity of recent events.

Azura's curiosity turned to the orc fields. "And what about the orc fields?" she asked, her tone still tinged with confusion. "I mean, aren't they just filled with mid-level monsters?" she queried, unable to understand Allen's fascination with the location.

Allen flashed her a mischievous grin, his eyes alight with excitement. "Yeah, they're mid-level monsters, but they're mobs," he explained, his grin widening. "I want to see how well I can handle them without a healer," he admitted, his voice tinged with anticipation.

Azura was silent, her gaze fixed on the ground as Allen's words sank in. She couldn't deny the truth in what he said. Orcs might not be the most formidable foes individually, but their sheer numbers posed a challenge, especially for solo players like Allen. Most of the hunters in those areas banded together in groups or belonged to guilds, making it difficult for lone wolves like Azura to compete.

"Also, there are high-level orcs near there," Allen added, his tone matter-of-fact.

Azura nodded slowly, still processing. She glanced up at Allen, noticing the excitement in his eyes.

"Well, that place is closer to Ront City, though," Allen continued, his voice tinged with a hint of reluctance. "But I'm avoiding that city for now. Too many big guild members gather there, and, uh, I just had a run-in with my ex."

Azura frowned, her curiosity piqued by Allen's mention of his ex. "Your ex?" she clarified, wanting to hear more about this unexpected revelation.

Allen flashed her a dry smile, a hint of awkwardness coloring his expression. "Yeah, Yora. She's the healer for the Order of Valiance," he confirmed, his tone tinged with nostalgia. "You know, she's been having some issues with her guild lately," he explained, his voice trailing off.

"Ah, I see," Azura murmured, nodding in understanding. "Well, it's probably for the best to avoid any potential run-ins with her for now," she offered, trying to lighten the mood with a hint of humor.

Allen chuckled softly, appreciating Azura's attempt to ease the tension. "Yeah, definitely," he agreed.

Azura cringed at the mention of Yora's antics. "Ugh, I read her thread on the gaming forum," she confessed, shaking her head in disbelief. "Did she also approach you and try to drag you into her problem?" she asked, her tone tinged with annoyance.

Allen let out a sigh of relief. "Thankfully, no," he replied, a hint of frustration in his voice. "But I could tell she had her eyes on me when I was just trying to relax at the tavern earlier," he added, recalling the uncomfortable encounter.

"Ew…" Azura cringed, her expression reflecting her distaste at the mention of Yora's antics. "Anyway, let's focus on the task at hand and go hunt now," she suggested, eager to shift the conversation away from the drama surrounding Allen's ex. "Oh, and Emma asked me to accompany her again immediately after this," she reminded him, her tone shifting to one of determination.

"Since you want to avoid Ront City, Mutant Island might be a more suitable place for us," Azura suggested, her analytical mind already at work.

Allen felt a little panicked even though he managed to cover it with a cool face. He had to keep Azura here and wait for the ambush. "I agree," he said, his voice steady despite the underlying tension. "But before we head out, you haven't told me why you were late," he pointed out, his curiosity getting the better of him. "I mean, I bet this has something to do with your guild leader," he guessed.
