Villain – Peeking at the Diary, the Female Leads’ Personas Collapse

Chapter 84

Chapter 84

“What do you think of Zheng Shaoyang?”

“Talented, ambitious. I can sense his resentment toward me. I’ve known from the beginning.”

Could he have discovered what was going on?

Xiao Lan looked at Ye Aotian, worried.

Ye Aotian continued, “But I believe he’ll still end up under my control. People like him always do. I believe in my ability to manipulate people.”

Xiao Lan let out a sigh of relief. He hadn’t discovered anything. Oddly, she found this whole situation somewhat enjoyable.

According to the author, Xiao Lan was initially intended as a foil to Lin Qingyue. But when Xiao Lan actively offered herself to Ye Aotian, she even mentioned that she wasn’t a virgin anymore. At that time, Ye Aotian, in his haste, ignored everything and went for it.

When Chen Fan read that part, he was shocked for a year. But as for Xiao Lan, Chen Fan didn’t care. He assumed that if she’d taken the initiative, she must enjoy competition, possession, and excitement.

Unfortunately, Chen Fan didn’t know all of this. Right now, he was facing a very important decision. The campus arc was about to begin, involving elements of traditional Chinese medicine — a foundation for the protagonist to grow stronger and gain support.

Though the protagonist’s scenes here included Chen Fan, they weren’t particularly significant. The protagonist’s main task was seducing girls, creating shockwaves at the school, gaining recognition from influential people, joining the Chinese Medicine Association, and revolutionizing certain Chinese medicine treatments.

None of this had much to do with Chen Fan.

Chen Fan looked at Zhu Yeqing in front of him.

“Sleepwalking?”

“No … young master, why are you still up so late?”

I was asleep, sister, until you woke me up, standing next to my bed in your nightgown in the dead of night. For a moment, I thought you were keeping vigil over me. Jeez, don’t scare me like that.

“Just thinking about things, company matters. Ye Aotian hit us hard this time; the company lost a lot of money.”

Zhu Yeqing moved closer to Chen Fan, saying, “Young master, if you’re troubled, you can talk to me. I’m here to listen.”

The subtext was, Young master, you can vent, lose your temper if you like.

Chen Fan looked at her, muttering to himself.

Are you acting? Definitely. You’re absolutely acting. This isn’t the right path.

Normally, I’d be the one seeking you out, whether you agreed or not. I’d be the one losing my temper. But now, you’re taking the initiative? What’s going on? This isn’t right. Director, come out here and look at this female lead. She’s not following the script!

“Did you have a nightmare?”

“Yes, I did. In my dream, I saw you leaving me, young master, and I got scared.”

Chen Fan sighed and made room for her.

Zhu Yeqing nestled into Chen Fan’s embrace.

“Sleep well, don’t worry. As long as I’m here, you won’t suffer again.”

“Yes, I understand. Thank you, young master. You’re so good to me.”

Chen Fan sighed in relief and hurried to sleep. There were far too many strange things today; maybe he should find someone to check if his recent luck was off.

“Young master, you really won’t lose your temper?”

“Go to sleep.”

What’s wrong with you? Talking about this in the middle of the night? Aren’t we supposed to rest

At dawn, Chen Fan, who was accustomed to waking up early, sighed helplessly as he looked at Zhu Yeqing sleeping peacefully beside him. As expected, something seemed off with her character setting. He suspected that there had to be some underlying plot. Zhu Yeqing was probably planning something against him.

Recently, Ye Aotian had suffered serious injuries, and she knew that such an ally couldn’t be relied upon. So, she decided to lower his guard first, then perhaps eventually target his family in revenge.  Yes, it must be that. Definitely, absolutely.

There was no flaw in his thinking. But even so, he had tasks that still needed to be done.

Chen Fan opened his computer and began writing today’s journal entry, recording his thoughts and claiming his reward.

[July 16, sunny. The weather is nice, but I’m in a foul mood.]

[Another strange woman has appeared. Anna’s entrance has already thrown the plot off course, but now Tao Xiaoyao has shown up, too.]

[Sigh, she’s not really a problem. She was bound to appear soon anyway, but she should have been involved with Ye Aotian, not with me.]

[Could it be that Tao Xiaoyao is here to spy on me? Or is it something else? If I recall, there was a certain connection between Chen Fan’s grandfather’s generation and Tao Xiaoyao.]

[Forget it, it doesn’t matter. I have little interaction with Tao Xiaoyao; she was probably hired by my father.]

[Yes, Da Xiong’s death went a bit beyond the plot’s control. Normally, he shouldn’t have died at my hands, but he seemed determined to kill me, so I had no choice but to crush him. Didn’t anyone tell him that I’m actually quite skilled in combat?]

[Has he always been this fearless?]

[Oh, right, the campus plot arc. Hahahahahaha, laughing my head off.].

As the female leads ate breakfast, they habitually began to feel a headache.
Every time certain words appeared in his journal, they felt an inexplicable sense of embarrassment.

They were beginning to suspect that other women probably had access to the journal as well, because if only they had it, their character settings wouldn’t have deviated so much.

But the character settings of other female leads were also off, judging by Chen Fan’s sarcastic remarks. They could more or less guess who was deviating.

[Tao Xiaoyao has never been able to properly care for her daughter. She tried adopting like others do, but ended up raising her daughter in a twisted way.].

Tao Xiaoyao was practicing martial arts in the courtyard when she read this entry. She considered storming into Chen Fan’s room and killing him on the spot. This guy really had a sharp tongue; he was just asking for a beating.

[I remember Ye Aotian pretending to be a freshman, then chatting her up under a streetlight on the avenue after a school event, riding a bike over and starting a conversation. What’s worse, she actually found him interesting.].

What the heck? Tao Xiaoyao was dumbfounded. How can that be?

She and her daughter were worlds apart; no mother would want her daughter to date a penniless guy.

[What’s even funnier is that these two women both ended up having relations with Ye Aotian. But it makes sense. As long as it’s not a genuine relationship, these plots always end up like this in urban harem novels. The tropes are so predictable.]

[“You’re like a beautiful koi fish, swimming, swimming, and you swam right into my heart.” Hahahahaha, laughing my head off, I laughed so hard my head nearly flew off. What a non-mainstream of a confession, and to think I even felt a little flutter. Hahahahaha.].

He’s insane, really insane. Tao Xiaoyao burst into Chen Fan’s bedroom, staring him down.
