Chapter 105: Dagon Buster
The Testament transformed into a storm of destruction—opposed directly by twenty warriors. Including spirits like myself, the total count is twenty-four.
The battle began.
The dragon's massive foreleg is raised high, targeting Alex. If it can kill him, it's mission will be complete, and the dragon will immediately abandon the Raid Boss Field to escape.
Thus, we must protect Alex. However, neither Liora nor Jack Jack excels at defense.
So, it's a matter of putting the right person in the right place.
Meme steps forward in front of Alex. The dragon's massive, boulder-like foreleg crashes against her futuristic shield.
A tremendous impact. The floor cracks under the force.
"Do not underestimate the strength of a vampire dragon!" roars the dragon.
"I'm not underestimating you, you fool. A shield isn't just for defence—Redirect!"
With a slight adjustment of the shield's angle, Meme deflects Testament's foreleg, causing it to slide and slam into the floor.
In that brief moment when the dragon's movement halts—
Liora murmurs a word.
"Rouro!!"
Liora's summon appears right at Testament's flank. Without hesitation, he begins tearing apart the dragon's wing.
Panicked, Testament thrashes to resist.
Testament conjures a water-based spell to destroy Rouro. While Fatal Evade activates, Rouro doesn't care and continues to rip off the wing.
Blood sprays from the dragon like the cork of a champagne bottle.
"You insolent—!"
"Graaaahhhh!"
Rouro discards the torn wing and immediately follows up with a left hook that sends the giant dragon toppling over.
Dismissing Rouro, Liora summons the next beast: Samurai.
"Bind."
Samurai, now in octopus form, wraps around Testament to restrain it. Immediately, the magic squad and Hilda launch a relentless assault.
Liora accelerates cautiously to avoid friendly fire.
Testament's body begins to emit a blue glow as it roars.
"Oceanic Magic – Tidal Wave!"
It seems to be a long-chant spell. The name has been spoken, but the magic hasn't activated yet. Still, the impending power of the spell is clear.
Our choices are to evade, defend, or attack… Meme is solely focused on protecting Alex. Can she handle such large-scale magic?
When I glance back to confirm, Meme raises her thumb confidently.
Let's trust her.
"Liora, I'm going in."
"Destroy… it!"
Liora ignores any interference and uses Offering: Flash Dance to close the distance to Testament.
With a double jump, she reaches Testament's neck.
Under the luxurious chandelier, the reaper-like girl dances through the air. Her blade is already imbued with Death's Edge, Life Drain Blade, and Slaughter Blade.
Moreover—
Liora activates Berserk.
A faint smile appears on her otherwise expressionless face. The dragon visibly recoils.
"Offer your life… Moon-Slaying Blade!"
"Tidal Wave – Activate!"
Liora's massive scythe cleaves through Testament's neck.
Almost simultaneously, Testament's magic—Tidal Wave—activates. A devastating surge of water floods the battlefield.
Liora is swallowed by the wave.
By cancelling Berserk immediately upon contact, she narrowly avoids instant death. Had she stayed in berserk mode, she would've perished.
Battered by the water, Liora begins using self-healing abilities.
Potions cannot be used underwater. In less than a second, the wave dissipates—Meme must have done something.
Liora, drenched and sprawled on the floor, begins to recover.
I apply a healing potion and hand her a water-breathing potion just in case.
"Are you alright, Liora?"
"Must practice… swimming…"
"This wasn't something swimming could've helped with."
While we exchanged light-hearted banter, Testament had advanced. Its severed neck had already regenerated. Its destination was Alex.
From a distance, it would only be worn down by the magic squad.
Testament raises its foreleg again. The claws, now extended with blood magic, stretch out significantly.
The dragon's claws come crashing down.
Intercepting from the side, Meme blocks the attack with her large shield. Not only that—
"Stun Bash!"
With a sharp clang, her shield deflects the claws.
Immediately, Testament's body freezes momentarily, paralyzed. It's an art that stops an enemy's movements when a perfect guard is executed.
If it fails, she would've been left vulnerable to the attack—a high-risk, high-reward maneuver.
To use such a move against a potentially lethal attack—Meme is quite the cheat character.
I'll contribute as well.
"Present: Paralysis!"
Testament's movements cease further.
Everyone begins preparing their ultimate attacks without hesitation.
Liora channels 190% of her life force into Shining Slash, Hilda and Tanaka ready a Resonance Spell, and Jack Jack hurls a silver stake.
For the final blow, Alex shouts—
"Power Boost!"
The attacks explode upon impact.

Despite being left in shambles, Testament still lives. This resilience is the strength of a dragon-vampire.
Its body rapidly regenerates.
Some of Alex's subordinates grit their teeth in despair. A few even collapse to their knees.
To the humans of the third field, dragons are the closest things to natural disasters.
Their growing fear is understandable.
Only Alex remains unfazed. He polishes his monocle with a cloth, adjusts it, and twists his lips into a smirk.
"Fascinating," he mutters. "To be this durable, Testament. And to be driven this far by this party—worthy of the old man Gano's recommendation."
With a grin, Alex activates a skill.
"Press the advantage! My army, charge en masse! Liora, Johann, Meme, and Hilda, act as you see fit!"
Alex shouts and triggers Mass Casting, conjuring a Flare Lance. He hurls it toward Testament.
Testament counters with Oceanic Magic.
Fifteen elite soldiers advance at full speed, weapons in hand.
"Insects!"
Testament spins its massive body to unleash a wide-range tail attack.
A deadly blow meant to eliminate weaker targets in one sweep. Meme, however, activates The World of Patience with perfect timing to block it.
The army strikes Testament relentlessly.
Its scales shatter, but each time, regeneration restores it.
While Alex observes with crossed arms, his gaze shifts to Liora.
But Liora doesn't notice. Silently, she has positioned herself above Testament's head.
Atop the dragon's head, a small girl wields a massive scythe.
Her blood-red eyes spin ominously.
"—!"
With a sharp clang, Testament's head fell cleanly off.
"Know that it is futile!"
From the severed head, bat-like wings sprouted immediately, and it fled into the air. Such is the troublesome nature of a vampire-dragon hybrid.
Within its mouth, the dragon's breath was charging. Enjoy more content from empire
"Perish! [Blood Dragon's Breath: Breath of Testament]!"
