Chapter 70: Warhammer: Lord of the Endless Monster Horde [70]
"Rest assured! Great Master, I'm just taking some materials from this spaceship, which won't affect its overall performance.
If we have enough materials in the future, I can even build a spaceship of our Baltan race for you, which will be more powerful than this mothership." Balt patted his chest and assured Rhodes.
Although the Pedan race had built the mighty King Joe battle robot, the Baltans were not much weaker. In fact, in terms of racial strength, the Baltans were even superior.
The Pedans were about the same size as Earthlings, with similar lifespans. However, in terms of lifespan and physical size, the Baltans were on par with the Nation of Light, making them one of the most advanced civilizations in the universe.
"Balt, I have another spaceship called the Iron, but it's relatively small. See if you can find any useful parts on it." Rhodes said.
His cosmic robot, the Iron, stood at 150 meters tall. When transformed into a spaceship, it stretched over 200 meters in length.
He wasn't sure if its parts were usable, but as long as it wasn't completely dismantled, he could store it in the system space and spend some system coins to repair it.
"I need to inspect the spaceship, Master," Balt said.
He had to see the actual ship before making a decision.
"No problem, come with me. Let's go to your laboratory storage." Rhodes nodded and led Blat from the captain's room to the third-level deck.
This area had ample space, just enough to deploy Iron.
Once Rhodes summoned Iron, Balt excitedly rushed forward to examine it.
"The craftsmanship is quite impressive. Although it's a spaceship made by a small cosmic race, its energy core is excellent.
This energy absorption and release device is very advanced!
I can use some of these spaceship parts. Master, may I dismantle a few?"
The spaceship contained a decent level of technology, and smaller ships had their advantages. The dismantled parts would be perfect for his laboratory.
"No problem. Just don't take apart more than half of it; the rest is yours to use." Rhodes replied.
He had taken it out specifically for dismantling, and since the Tyranids were gone, Balt could go ahead and take what he needed.
"I won't need half of it, just some parts."
Upon receiving Rhodes' permission, Balt excitedly transformed into a massive 48-meter-tall form, crouched on the third-level deck, and pulled out some large tools.
With a series of loud metallic sounds, Balt began dismantling Iron. Within moments, he had taken apart about one-third of the Iron's body.
Rhodes stored the remaining wreckage in the system space and saw that it would cost 10,000 system coins to repair it—his heart ached!
With a helpless sigh, Rhodes silently endured the loss. For the sake of the cosmic dinosaur Zetton, I'll hold on!
"Master, with the materials and parts from these small ships, we only need to purchase some biological incubation tanks and a set of extra-large cloning equipment. Then I can start assembling the laboratory, and you will soon see Zetton II!" Balt said excitedly.
Now that he had dismantled a spaceship and acquired materials from the mothership, he just needed some incubation tanks and cloning pods to begin his work.
"I'm looking forward to it. We will handle the giant cloning equipment later. I have a special notebook here—it contains notes from the extradimensional Aboran on creating Super Beasts. See if you can replicate their work." Rhodes opened his system space and retrieved a massive Yalo notebook.
One of the main reasons for summoning Balt was to have him analyze the Yapo experimental notes.
Seeing the gigantic notebook, Balt nodded to Rhodes before sitting on the deck and flipping through the pages.
As he read, he kept nodding in admiration. Occasionally, he'd slap his leg with excitement, his face showing sudden realizations.
"A masterpiece! I can't believe this is possible—such imaginative ideas!" Balt exclaimed as he studied the notes.
After an hour, he had scanned through most of the notebook.
"My apologies for keeping you waiting, Master!
Please forgive my scientific enthusiasm. Seeing such top-tier experimental materials, I couldn't help but get excited.
This is indeed Yapo technology—a biological modification notebook filled with experimental data on superbeasts. If we have a suitable biological laboratory, I can also create Super Beasts for you.
May I keep this notebook a little longer? It has given me so much inspiration. I might even use its Super Beast data to improve Zetton II!" Balt looked at Rhodes with eager eyes.
The Super Beast modification notes were incredibly valuable to him. As a biology expert, he could fully utilize their potential.
"No problem, the notebook is yours to study. Do your best—I'm looking forward to your results." Rhodes said.
Excellent! My Super Beast army is coming together!
"Master! The Super Beast synthesis formulas in this notebook require specific equipment to create Super Beasts from cosmic monsters and other creatures.
However, when it comes to extradimensional energy and soul fusion—areas in which the Yalo excel—I am powerless." Balt explained.
He could combine cosmic monsters and ordinary creatures, but extradimensional energy was beyond his expertise.
"That's fine. Just synthesizing ordinary cosmic monsters into Super Beasts is enough. I already have a cosmic monster, Bemstar, along with two Earth monsters, Gomora and Red King." Rhodes said.
"The Yalo use a Super Beast synthesis machine for their creations. Do you also need one?" Rhodes asked.
If the machine had to be built from scratch, it would be a challenge—especially since the Yalo notes contained no instructions on how to create it.
"Great Master, if we use extradimensional energy or other special energies, we must have a Super Beast synthesis machine.
But if we're only fusing cosmic monsters and regular creatures, I don't need the machine. As long as my biological laboratory is completed, I can synthesize ordinary Super Beasts." Balt said.
"That's great! We'll build your laboratory soon. But first, let me introduce you to the others on the ship.
I've come up with a backstory for you—you need to explain yourself like this, understood?" Rhodes told Balt his fabricated identity.
"I understand, Master! I will remember everything you said." Balt nodded.
Rhodes had Balt revert to human size and disguise himself as a human. Once he confirmed there were no oversights, he led him to the ship's second-level bridge.
At this point, most members of Deathwatch had recovered from their injuries and were awake. They were gathered in small groups, talking. Upon seeing Rhodes, they immediately assembled.
"Report! Lord Rhodes! Deathwatch, including the previously comatose brothers, has a total of thirty-seven members, all present and awaiting your orders." Titus saluted Rhodes.
They didn't find anything unusual about the middle-aged man standing beside Rhodes, but Elena did seem curious—when did a middle-aged man join the ship?
"Let me introduce you—this is Balt, a top-tier biological scientist from the Golden Age of Humanity.
During the distant Golden Age, he used his biological expertise and advanced technology to enter deep sleep, preparing to assist humanity in the future." Rhodes gestured toward the Balt.
"A human from the Golden Age? He has been asleep since then?" Titus asked.
"I'll explain," Balt said, following Rhodes' script.
"Before the catastrophic Warp Storm, many human scientists foresaw that civilization would fall into a dark age—possibly even regressing to primitive times.
So, some top scientists proposed a plan. Some suggested writing a Galactic Encyclopedia to preserve human history and technology for future generations.
In addition to the encyclopedia, there was another project called the Future Support Plan.
This plan involved selecting elite scientists who would enter deep sleep, carrying the pinnacle of Golden Age technology.
Once the Warp Storm passed and humanity plunged into darkness and despair, these scientists would awaken to help rebuild civilization."
Rhodes had truly outdone himself—what an absurd backstory!
"A noble sacrifice! We salute you, Lord Balt! You are humanity's pride." Titus and the Death Watch members saluted Balt.
"I'm just a scientist. I can't do much else, but I will use my biological expertise to help humanity in this era. That's all I can do." Balt replied.
