With Jiang You's front row completely cleared, Illya immediately launched her assault. If either of her two Minamoto no Raikou could land a direct hit, the Duel would be over instantly.

Of course, Illya knew Jiang You wouldn't fall so easily. She hadn't forgotten the servant he had just returned to his hand.

"I activate the effect of my hand card, Morning Glory, to switch the attacking Minamoto no Raikou to Defense Position!"

Jiang You decisively used the young girl card with an effect similar to that of a certain spherical entity.

Minamoto no Raikou: Attack Power 3000 → Defense Power 2000

"In that case, a second attack!" Illya commanded her main Minamoto no Raikou, with her 4000 Attack Power, to strike.

"About time," Jiang You thought.

Although he still had Stealth Change in his Graveyard, which could negate battle damage once, its effect only applied to attacking servants and wouldn't work against the temporarily immune Minamoto no Raikou. He didn't want to waste it here.

"I activate the Trap Card Support Fire! Destroy Minamoto no Raikou!"

"Illya's been getting impatient! I activate my Trap Card, [ Endless Martial Prowess ]! This card can be activated directly from my hand when a servant related to Minamoto no Raikou is destroyed on my field! I Special Summon Minamoto no Raikou to my field and summon Ibaraki-Doji to yours!"

The card Illya had been holding onto finally took effect. "These two cards are unaffected by other card effects until the start of my next turn."

Thunder and the Demon Hand intertwined, then crashed violently into opposite Battle Zones, transforming into two servants.

"Ugh, that milk cow again? Where's Watanabe no Tsuna this time?" Ibaraki-Doji scowled at Minamoto no Raikou and clicked her tongue. Shuten-dōji hated Raikou, so Ibaraki-Doji naturally despised her as well. "Who's controlling me now?"

Ibaraki-Doji sized up Jiang You. Despite being a Heroic Spirit like herself, he looked utterly lacking in martial prowess—rather unreliable. "Not bad looking, I guess. But you're supposed to be a Heroic Spirit, kid. Don't tell me you're as useless as that Blue Algae Head, getting kicked to the curb the moment you're summoned?"

Jiang You glanced at his hand, realizing he couldn't protect Ibaraki-Doji. Despite this perfect opportunity to increase her affection, he could only shrug helplessly.

"Sorry, but I'm even worse than Shinji," he said, brutally honest. "At least he let you take one turn. With me, you're getting benched right away."

"Wait, are you really that weak?" Ibaraki-Doji couldn't believe what she was hearing. Surely a Heroic Spirit should be stronger than that frail-looking guy?

"Well, right now you're just a practice dummy," Jiang You replied. "If you gave me your full Mount Ōe Deck, I'd let you show off properly." He tried to trick her into handing over her cards.

"You?" Ibaraki-Doji waved dismissively. With her refined tastes, she couldn't stand someone who looked so unskilled in combat.

"No way! I advise you to give up that fantasy. If I teamed up with you, I'd be losing seven out of three matches. I'd rather team up with that seaweed-headed guy!"

Ibaraki-Doji insisted that strength spoke for itself. Jiang You found it utterly absurd that Gudako could make every Heroic Spirit fall for her. These servants had completely different needs and preferences; even when Jiang You tried to tailor his approach, he often missed the mark. Did Gudako really possess some special brainwashing ability?

"Because Minamoto no Raikou has been summoned again, she can attack one more time! Target: Ibaraki-Doji!"

Illya issued the attack order before Jiang You and Ibaraki-Doji could finish their conversation.

"Did you just say something incredibly rude?"

Minamoto no Raikou closed the distance in a single stride, her Dōjigiri Yasutsuna crackling with thunder as she brought it crashing down. "You're just a pest! Crawl back to Hell where you belong!"

Ibaraki-Doji, still bantering with Jiang You, didn't even have time to react before being sent to the Graveyard.

Jiang You's Life Points: 1750 → 1150.

"Minamoto no Raikou's effect: When she destroys a Servant, add the Equip Spell Card Dōjigiri Yasutsuna to your hand!"

Illya drew the card from her deck.

"Main Phase 2: I equip Dōjigiri Yasutsuna to Minamoto no Raikou."

Since Minamoto no Raikou was temporarily unaffected by other card effects, her Attack Power remained unchanged.

"The effect of [ Dōjigiri Yasutsuna ] sends one [ Shuten Dōji ] from my deck to the graveyard and allows me to draw a card!"

Illya examined the card she drew and smiled with satisfaction. "Now I activate [ Mystery Killer ]! I send a servant from my deck to the graveyard and add a servant card related to [ Minamoto no Raikou ] or [ Yorimitsu's Four Heavenly Kings ] to my hand. If the servant sent to the graveyard is from Mount Ōe, I also add a related Equip Spell Card to my hand. I'll send [ Shuten Dōji ] to the graveyard and add [ Sakata Kintoki ] and [ Kumokiri ] to my hand!"

"[ Sakata Kintoki's ] effect allows me to summon him without tributing if [ Minamoto no Raikou ] is on the field!"

Amidst a golden flash of lightning, Kintoki appeared, his attire even more modern than before. Having learned from his previous appearance, he had made slight adjustments to his outfit. A white shirt paired with black sunglasses, combined with his muscular physique, gave him the look of a tough guy straight out of a Yakuza film.

"Hey boss, long time no see! And Master, seeing you so full of energy is truly GOLDEN!"

"You look like you're up to no good, Kintoki. Mommy's worried," Raikou said, pinching his cheek and frowning at his attire. Her eyes were filled with concern for the future, even though servants weren't supposed to experience such emotions.

"Don't pick up any strange habits," she warned.

"..."

Kintoki didn't know how to respond. A refusal would only make things worse.

"Next, Sakata Kintoki's effect! Choose one card on the field and destroy it! I choose Tomes of the Hundred! Since it's not a servant, it can't inflict direct damage!" Illya decisively destroyed Jiang You's continuous spell card, which provided both card replenishment and destruction capabilities.

"Golden Impact!"

Sensing Kintoki's awkwardness, Illya immediately offered him an out.

"Grr, leave it to me!" Kintoki responded instantly.

Jiang You's back row was now completely cleared, while Illya's field remained virtually unchanged. With her full health, Illya held a significant advantage, making it nearly impossible for Minamoto no Raikou to break through her defenses.

"Impressive as always, Illya," Jiang You praised, seizing the moment to flatter her.

"Don't think you can win me over with sweet talk. You're not beaten that easily, are you?" Illya retorted, seeing through his flattery.

Illya, growing suspicious of Jiang You's excessive praise, stamped her foot. "Just duel properly!"

"Alright, my turn. Draw!" Jiang You replenished his hand to three cards.

"First, I activate the Archivist of Hidden Knowledge's effect. I select three cards from the Graveyard, add one to my hand, and return the other two to the Deck. I choose Hundred Faces, Hundred-Faced (Host), and Fanatic. I'll add Hundred Faces to my hand."

"Next, I Normal Summon Hundred Faces. Its effect allows me to Special Summon Hundred-Faced (Host) from my Deck!"

This time, Jiang You flipped over Delusional Illusion—a card that practically oozed with Bond energy.

"Now that I've drawn this card, let's activate it immediately! I activate Delusional Illusion! I summon all three Hundred Faces from my Graveyard!"

All three Hundred Faces reappeared neatly on Jiang You's field.

[ Morning Glory ]: Defense Power 0.

"Next, I'll play this Quick-Play Spell Card, Encyclopedia of Knowledge! Since I have five Hassan Sabbahs on the field, all three effects activate! All Assassins on my field gain 500 Attack Power until the end of the turn! I destroy one Spell/Trap Card from my opponent's backrow! And I draw one card from my Deck! I choose to destroy Dōjigiri Yasutsuna!"

If Illya were allowed to replenish her resources, Jiang You would likely face a crushing defeat, especially since Minamoto no Raikou could sacrifice Oni from her Graveyard to negate card destruction effects.

"I'll overlay these four Hundred Faces in Defense Position to Xyz Summon Fanatic!"

The Fanatic emerged from the shadows, adopting a defensive stance for the first time.

"Trying to block Minamoto no Raikou's attack with your Xyz Material's destruction effect?" Illya saw through Jiang You's plan. "You can't win by playing defense like that."

"If I can just hold out long enough, an opportunity will present itself," Jiang You replied. He wasn't set on defeating Illya, but he couldn't afford to lose too badly.

"Fanatic's effect: Detach a material to destroy a servant on your field! Delusional Heartbeat!"

"Battling for only a short time each turn is never enough!" Kintoki grumbled, watching the hand reach for him. He longed to experience those self-propelled metal blocks again; their thunderous roar filled him with yearning.

"There'll be other chances," Jiang You assured him.

Though she hated to admit it, Minamoto no Raikou knew she would inevitably work with Jiang You again, granting Sakata Kintoki plenty of opportunities to manifest. If she knew Kintoki was planning to join a biker gang, however, she'd surely throw another fit.

The ineffective Minamoto no Raikou and Sakata Kintoki were destroyed by Lian Lian and sent to the Graveyard. This left Fanatic with only two materials remaining, enough to block three more attacks.

"Finally, I'll set these two cards face-down in my back row and end my turn!" Jiang You declared.

With Stealth Change still in his Graveyard, Jiang You felt relatively confident about surviving.

But how was he going to win? Jiang You figured he might need to cry out, "Sesshouin, save me!" if things got desperate.
