Chapter 6: A Torn Heart
I looked at Robb. "I can't stay here. My place is with my people at Dragon Hall and yours is here in Winterfell. I'm sorry, Robb but I have to go."
Robb stopped me and grabbed my hand. "Your place is here with me."
I didn't say anything but pushed past him and made my way to Feiro who was waiting for me just outside Winterfell. I sighed and climbed onto his back watching as Robb rode as fast as he could on a horse to catch up to me before Ferio could take off. "Robb, what are you doing? You are the heir to one of the greatest realms ever. I can't give you what you seek."
Robb shook his head. "You're wrong, Katherine. We can strengthen the North. Together, I can help you restore the Drakeion people."
"My people don't trust anyone other than their own. You would be executed if you walked into Dragon's Hall."
"Then I'll take that risk."
Feiro chuckled. "I understand you are feeling torn, Katherine. Your uncle, Lord Tristan, currently rules Dragon's Hall. He is a good man, along with his dragon, WhiteTail."
I nod. "I trust my uncle Tristan. He will not let the Drakeion people go without order."
Feiro smiled. "I can tell you love the young Wolf. Follow your heart, child."
I looked towards Robb who offered his hand to me. "Give me a chance?"
"Very well."
Meanwhile, in the crypts of Winterfell, King Robert stared at Lord Stark. "Ned, Wolves and Dragons don't mix. Dragons eat wolves you know that."
Ned nods. "I am well aware of that Robert however, I made a promise to Katherine's father."
Robert groaned. "Then I will honor that promise as well. I suggest that she marry my son Joffery."
There was steamy silence between the two friends. Ned knew that Kat would never agree to the prospect of marrying Prince Joffery. Joffery was known for being cruel and narcissistic. Robb was seen as a great leader. He was kind, caring, and a calm demeanor about him. Ned finally spoke. "If Katherine married Joffery she will know nothing but pain and suffering. King's Landing will not be the place for her. People might fear dragons but Northerns have come to see Fiero as a guardian. Both dragon and rider will stay here."
