Why must the devil be Defeated?

Chapter 728: 665 Humans on the Battlefield

Demon Realm, eastern part.

This is a battlefield in the wilderness.

There, thousands of members of the Demon Clan were engaged in fierce combat.

These thousands appeared to belong to two factions; one resembled demons with terrifying faces, lengthy, pointed ears, and dark blue skin, while the other had a human-like appearance, their bodies adorned with fish scale-like scales in various places, exuding an indescribable beauty.

Clearly, these two factions of the Demon Clan belonged to different races.

At that moment, the two different races of the Demon Clan were clashing violently, causing the battlefield to shake.

"Release the monsters!"

A Demon Clan girl stood behind the group resembling humans, her neck adorned with sparkling scales, her looks quite extraordinary. She was bathed in the adoration and worship from her fellow clanspeople while issuing orders with calm authority.

Under the command of the Demon Clan girl, a series of cages situated further back opened, and beasts roared as they were released, charging into the battlefield.

"Magic Corps, get ready!"

Watching this scene unfold, a Demon Clan man, clearly a commander, at the back of the demon-like faction, shouted orders, directing the well-arrayed mages before him to raise their magic wands and commence chanting.

The remarkable magic power surged around these mages, indicating that their level was not low, and their magic power, exceptional.

It had to be said that the Demon Clan truly had unique advantages. Although they were not born mages like the Elf Clan, they generally possessed strong magic power, and even warriors without the talent for magic held considerable magic power.

Thus, mages from the Demon Clan were naturally more powerful than those from the Human Race and even the Divine Race. The same spells, when cast by mages of the Demon Clan, were definitely stronger than those of equivalent level Human or Divine Race mages.

Thanks to this, although the level of these mages was only around sixty, the spells they chanted seemed to carry more momentum than those of Human Race mages of level seventy or higher.

Before long, countless spells were unleashed, raining down from the sky, ravaging the entire battlefield, and sending an unknown number of the enemy's monsters flying.

This caused the Demon Clan girl to furrow her brows, troubled by the situation.

A Demon Clan warrior standing closest to the girl spoke anxiously,

"Commander Shajina, the situation seems unfavorable for us, should we retreat?"

The warrior's tense tone quickly affected everyone around, causing morale to drop significantly.

Seeing this, the girl named Shajina's frown deepened as she scolded the warrior,

"The situation is not yet clear, and our lines have not collapsed. You want to retreat so soon, do you deserve to be a warrior of the Sand Scale Clan? Weier!"

At her words, the warrior named Weier immediately hung his head in embarrassment, as if filled with shame.

The people around hastily regained their spirits, and morale was somewhat restored.

Shajina lifted her head high, gazing into the distance across the battlefield, her mind whirring as she observed her own forces retreating step by step under the enemy's powerful magic assault.

Shajina clearly hadn't given up, or to say, was unwilling to give up.

The enemy's commander saw this and began to make a mockery.

"Don't struggle in vain, Shajina. Just surrender quickly. As long as you pay tribute to the Horned Monster Clan with one hundred women from the Sand Scale Clan every year, we will stop the invasion. How about that?"

These words were met with Shajina's scorn.

"Thought you could capture our Sand Scale women and sell them for a high price? Dream on, Lakaid!" Shajina said with a murderous look on her face, "I will never surrender!"

"Then there is no other way," Lakaid said with a cruel smile. "As long as we take down the Sand Scale's village, we can still take away the beauties of the Sand Scale Clan, including you, Shajina. We will certainly sell you for a high price!"

As he spoke, Lakaid waved his hand, and the mages of the Horned Monster Clan also began to sneer, as they started chanting a new round of magic to swirl the magic power into a vortex.

That scene made Shajina clench her teeth, and gradually, anxiety began to rise in her heart.

The Horned Monster Clan was notoriously strong, best at invading and waging war, which allowed them to flourish. Among them were many powerful individuals, especially adept at training mages who used wide-scale attack magic. Wherever they passed, they left destruction like locusts, and any race targeted by them was likely to be completely devastated, with only a small portion surrendering and becoming captives, paying tribute and having their blood drained by the Horned Monster Clan.

In contrast, the Sand Scale Clan barely had any mages, and even their warriors were barely satisfactory. They were good at breeding monsters and had adequate self-defense capabilities in their surrounding area but could not match a war-strong race like the Horned Monster Clan.

This time, the other party had set their sights on the Sand Scale Clan's beautiful women, hoping to make a huge profit by selling them.

This was something the Sand Scale Clan could not tolerate.

Therefore, under the command of her father, the clan leader, Shajina had come forth to meet the Horned Monster Clan's forces as the commander, leading the Sand Scale warriors and their bred monster army.

Who would have thought, even with the monster army, the Sand Scale Clan was still no match for the Horned Monster Clan's Magic Corps.

"How many monsters do we have left?"

Shajina asked Weier beside her.

"Roughly less than a thousand!" Weier said somewhat despairingly. "Those are the newly bred ones, not high-level. If the Horned Monster Clan's Magic Corps releases a round of magic, they might all be wiped out!"

Hearing this, Shajina knew that the Sand Scale Clan was truly in danger this time.

"Could we really have to surrender?"

Shajina couldn't help but grip her palms tightly.

Lakaid of the Horned Monster Clan immediately saw the morale of the Sand Scale Clan fall once again, and with a curl of his lips, he unhesitatingly increased his output, speeding up the pace at which the mages released their magic significantly.

The truth was evident: the Sand Scale Clan really was no match for the battle-adept Horned Monster Clan.

Watching the Sand Scale Clan's battle lines continually collapse, Lakaid already had a victorious smile on his face.

However, at that moment, an anomaly occurred.

"Buzz—!"

Suddenly, above the battlefield, a vortex appeared out of nowhere, as though tearing through space itself, and began to spin and vibrate violently.

"What is that?"

Lakaid's smile froze on his face.

"Ah?"

Shajina was likewise startled.

The entire battlefield's Demon Clan had their attention drawn to this anomaly, all of them looking up in astonishment toward the sky.

Under such circumstances, a stream of light was expelled from the vortex, like a fallen meteor, hurtling toward the ground at an incredibly fast speed.

"Boom—!"

Before long, an explosion-like sound rang out, and the stream of light bombarded the ground, kicking up a tremendous shockwave and dust cloud.

"Be careful!"

"Back off!"

Both the Sand Scale Clan and the Horned Monster Clan were taken aback, almost reflexively retreating.

Both Shajina and Lakaid had regained their senses and were intently staring at the location where the light had fallen, their faces betraying an uncontrollable tension.

There was no helping it; such an aberration appearing during wartime was bound to unsettle both sides.

Then, in the center of the dust, a coughing fit emerged.

"Cough cough cough... damn it...!"

Amidst a curse, a figure emerged from the dust, waving away the smoke and continuously coughing as he stepped forward.

Both Shajina and Lakaid were dumbstruck at the sight of this figure.

"No way?"

Lakaid murmured.

"A human?"

Shajina was also surprised.

There was a stir in the ranks of both sides.

Because what appeared before everyone was a young man of the Human Race.

The man was covered in dust, looking quite disheveled, and seemed quite young, about twenty years of age. Appearing on this smoky battlefield, he seemed entirely out of place.

Even more discordant were his words and demeanor.

"The roads are many, but safety first; careless driving leads to tears from kin. Here I was, riding a dragon through a spatial tunnel, and still, trouble finds me. If an old man doesn't come out nagging for compensation, I might as well accuse someone of a scam...!"

The human kept swearing as he dusted himself off, looking around at the perplexed Sand Scale Clan and Horned Monster Clan with a baffled expression.

"You all... have a unique look," said the human, in a tone lacking any words: "Seems like this isn't the Human Realm but without a doubt the Demon Realm."

He then confirmed his situation.

Even on the battlefield, surrounded by Alien Races and remaining unfazed as he snarked, Shajina started to admire the man's demeanor.

Lakaid did not share this sentiment.

Just when he was about to secure victory in the war, soon to capture all the famed beauties of the Sand Scale Clan and make a fortune selling them off, an inexplicable human had interrupted everything, all while acting as if he couldn't care less about the situation, which seriously irritated Lakaid.

"Kill him!"

Lakaid didn't hesitate at all in giving such an order, in no mood to waste the time it would take to exchange even a word with the stranger.

Even though the way the human had appeared here was somewhat peculiar, to a mighty warlike being like Lakaid, one human was not worth noticing.

After all, the Human Race was generally weaker than the Demon Clan, and the powerful Demon Clan even looked down on the Divine Race, so how could they possibly regard a mere human with any significance?

Compared to the human, Lakaid was more eager to capture the Sand Scale Clan.

Therefore, Lakaid gave the order.

"Be careful!"

Shajina was shocked and shouted instinctively.

The different attitudes of the two Commanders decisively determined the course of action that followed.

"Kill!"

"Finish off this human!"

"Chop him into mincemeat!"

The Horned Monster Clan warriors charged toward the human standing in the center of the battlefield with ferocious expressions.

The human raised his eyebrows at this murderous onslaught.

"Good."

The human began to laugh.

"This is just what I need to vent my frustrating mood."

With that, a terrifying magic power burst forth from the human's body.

Instantly, it enveloped the entire field.
