Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 117: Blood Bestowal, the Second Abyss Titan

"Since you insist, there's nothing more I can say. Ascension is, after all, a high-stakes gamble.

But you must be aware, it's not unheard of for a wizard to die in the ritual."

As the Shaping Energy Crown spoke, a hint of sorrow flickered in his eyes.

In the past, he also had a student like this. Just as talented and imaginative as Richard. If he had succeeded, he could have achieved truth at least half an epoch earlier than the Physique Crown.

But unfortunately, wrong is simply wrong.

Ascension to truth is this cruel; a wrong answer leads only to death.

Richard noticed that trace of sadness, realizing that the Shaping Energy Crown was reminded of his student.

He had heard the Physique Crown mention that wizard before.

That wizard was a legend among Great Wizards and according to the Alchemy School's records, before becoming a student of the Shaping Energy Crown, he had a thriving career in the Alchemy School.

He was the inventor of the Magic Potion Machine, and the Great Wizard Tesla was merely his assistant in the early years.

The magic equipment he crafted was incredibly intricate and diverse; he delved into nearly every kind of magic equipment.

But later, for some unknown reason, he abandoned the Alchemy School and joined the Shape-shifting School. He was then discovered for his potential by the Shaping Energy Crown and taken as a student.

Even the Physique Crown, when mentioning that wizard, spoke with a tone of regret.

"Let's settle this for now. You go find the soul first. When you need to create an isolated environment, I'll temporarily take over the Alchemy work."

The Shaping Energy Crown's interest was dampened by the sadness of the memory. For wizards undergoing spiritual evolution, memories are the anchor of their humanity.

Each time these memories surface, they are a shock to their spirit, and they cannot forget them.

Because without memories, they would eventually become purely rational machines. And without these memories, are they truly themselves?

Richard nodded slightly and turned to leave. But before he could leave, the Shaping Energy Crown suddenly called out to him again.

He took out an old Magic Book from his pocket and handed it to Richard.

"This book is my unfortunate student's notes, written in a cipher he created himself. Over the years, I have never been able to decipher its secrets.

Your Miracle Furnace can directly extract the information within..."

"I understand."

Richard interrupted the Shaping Energy Crown and took the Magic Book with both hands.

The Shaping Energy Crown's gaze became a bit unfocused, as the sunlight passing through the floor-to-ceiling windows cast onto Richard's face, seemingly overlapping with a figure from years ago.

"Aijieao, has it been so many years already?"

Richard did not speak to break this moment. He quietly placed the Magic Book into the Miracle Furnace for an information extraction.

But in the next moment, Richard's expression turned peculiar.

The Miracle Furnace couldn't extract the contents of this encrypted note.

Since obtaining the Miracle Furnace, he had never encountered a situation where extraction was not possible. Unless... this item had been extracted once before.

The Miracle Furnace cannot extract something that has already been extracted once, which was the only condition Richard knew of for being unable to extract something.

The Magic Book reappeared in Richard's hands, and under the Shaping Energy Crown's expectant gaze, he opened the encrypted notes.

"As expected..."

Upon seeing the words in the notes, Richard immediately understood why that Great Wizard was so outstanding.

The text used in these notes was not some cipher, but bloody English!

And the reason the notes couldn't be extracted was because the author of the notes had preemptively extracted them to prevent future Miracle Furnace owners from extracting the contents.

"What did he write?"

Perceiving the tumult in Richard's heart, the Shaping Energy Crown couldn't help but ask.

Richard did not answer. His spiritual power instantly swept over the notes, memorizing all the contents within.

With the half-baked English he learned in his past life, he managed to translate the contents of the notes with much guesswork — it wasn't a research notes at all, but a diary.

It recorded the author's mental journey upon arriving in this world, from the initial confusion and fear, to thriving with the Miracle Furnace, and finally knowing his destiny and choosing to abandon the Miracle Furnace.

"Indeed, I'm not the first owner of the Furnace," Richard said to himself.

Richard handed the notes to the Shaping Energy Crown.

"This diary records many of his secrets, and I believe he didn't want them known. However, among these secrets, he had some opinions about you.

At the end of the notes, he speaks highly of you, referring to you as his second father."

The Shaping Energy Crown was momentarily stunned, and a softness suddenly appeared in his eyes.

"Really, I always thought I was too strict."

...

The Shaping Energy Crown did not pursue other contents; he was a smart person, and smart people know sometimes not knowing something is better than knowing it.

Upon leaving the Shape-shifting School, Richard did not contact the Soul Crown immediately — the matter of ascension wasn't urgent at the moment; he had other things to take care of.

Using the City of Eternal Truth, Richard found the Demon Dragon Ista.

This Fifth Level Abyss Great Demon was currently recuperating in the Ashen Day World.

The Ashen Day World, being the only Abyss World within the wizard civilization, was the place where all front-line wounded abyss demons would return to recuperate.

After the victory in the Ashen Day World War, the Abyss Army fought for nearly two hundred more years. But as the number of Subhuman Wizards increased, the frequency of using Abyss Demons continued to decrease.

Now, the Abyss Demons are more like an alternative clan army, only responsible for the bloodiest meat grinder battles.

On the northern plains of the Ashen Day World, Richard looked at Ista, who was as meek as a kitten, and said with a smile, "Ista, you've made quite the progress over the years."

Compared to before Richard's slumber, the life radiation from Ista had grown more vigorous, and his body structure had undergone significant changes.

As a giant dragon tainted by the Abyss, Ista's potential was no less than Ali's. With a bit of development, reaching the sixth level wouldn't be a difficult task for him.

Ista transformed into a human form, his ferocious face adorned with a flattering smile.

"Serving you, I must put forth my utmost effort."

Richard chuckled, "Utmost effort is good, and since you're putting in so much effort, I can't let you work for nothing."

As he spoke, a dark red droplet of blood, resembling amber, emerged from Richard's palm.

"My bloodline is complete, the Titan Race has reemerged in the world. Swallow this, and you will be a new member of the Titan Race, one of my kin."

Staring at the droplet of blood, Ista couldn't help but swallow his saliva.

Upon that droplet, he felt a fatal temptation.

His body told him this was an excellent tonic for him, a chance for evolution. Yet simultaneously, it was a deadly poison capable of killing him.

Should he eat it?

A thought flashed through Ista's mind.

He looked at Richard, who was calmly watching him, with a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth.

It seemed he had no choice.

Without further hesitation, Ista clumsily performed a Wizard's salute to Richard, then swallowed the droplet of blood.

The next moment, a scorching sensation, akin to a volcanic eruption, exploded from his stomach.

The drop of blood burst within him like potent explosives, and the blast wave traversed through his body via the energy cycle, swiftly spreading to every cell.

From the outside, Ista had reverted to his demon dragon form. The gigantic demon dragon's body, hundreds of meters long, trembled with every inch of flesh.

Ruined cells seeped from under his scales through the tissue fluid, soon accumulating into a pool of blood on the ground.

Richard quietly observed this scene. Blood bestowal was a reward from a superior Abyss Demon to an inferior Abyss Demon, an alternative means of expanding the clan.

If a lesser demon could survive the blood bestowal, they'd join the superior demon's kin. If not, their body would collapse on the spot.

As the sole reincarnated Titan, Richard could only expand his clan through blood bestowal.

"I hope you can make it through," Richard muttered to himself as he watched Ista.

Ascending to truth was a perilous endeavor; Richard wasn't sure if he would succeed.

If Ista succeeded, even if Richard died, the bloodline of the Abyss Titan wouldn't be severed.

It wouldn't be in vain for the Shepherd Star Titan's efforts either.

After a brief examination of the surrounding environment, Richard lightly stomped on the ground, and a fissure opened.

There was a medium-sized earth vein node under this plain, perfect for assisting Ista's evolution.

Throwing Ista into the earth vein, Richard began his practice as he awaited.

The Furnace Man's legacy was extensive and comprehensive, but battle wasn't a contest of numbers; he had to bring that legacy to life.

...

A year later.

On the vast plains, a hundred-meter-tall giant sat cross-legged, with black flames rhythmically dancing around him like a heartbeat.

But if you looked closely at these flames, you'd discover the flames' flickers were actually countless runes.

The flickering was simply changes in the rune model.

Suddenly, the giant rose to his feet.

The countless rune flames gathered as the giant stood, and despite having no control over them, the colliding flames did not explode. Instead, they formed a rune model comparable to a Thirteen Rings Forbidden Spell.

"This ability is quite impressive," Richard marveled, looking at the rune flames.

The Illusionary Dimension wasn't merely an arena; it itself granted the Dominator an ability.

The Heart Image Titan that once fought Richard had used this ability to create the Unbreakable Shield.

Though Richard's Miracle Dimension was just a nascent form, he still possessed the Illusion Rules ability. And its effect perfectly matched Richard's understandings.

Richard could use the Power of Dimension to turn low-probability events into high-probability events.

In other words, what was originally a one percent possibility could be increased to ninety-nine percent by Richard using the Power of Dimension.

And this wasn't just luck.

According to Richard's observations, the change in probability occurred because the Power of Dimension directly altered the environment, making the events more likely to happen.

If he had bad luck, even at ninety-nine percent, he could still fail.

Swallowing the rune model, Richard looked at the earth beneath him, which trembled slightly, and a satisfied smile appeared on his face.

The next moment, the ground cracked open.

A jet-black Titan with a dragon head and dragon wings soared from the cracks into the sky.

Ista had succeeded in the blood bestowal, becoming the second Abyss Titan.
