Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 59: Battle Against the Quasi-Emperor

On the battlefield, a colossal white giant as vast as a mountain was striding across the land.

Behind him, a tide of the Wizard Army was advancing. In the sky, there were formations as grand as small Floating Cities and War Airships resembling schools of sharks.

Defense has never been the forte of wizards.

Buzz!

A beam of light, like a heavenly pillar, struck Richard's body.

A Mayfly combat group, responsible for the rear guard and numbering over a hundred thousand, had exhausted all their energy, even burning their flesh to ashes, transforming into this strike of ten thousand Energy Levels.

Yet this heroic counterattack fell upon Richard as silently as a phantom.

The area hit by the beam was charred, but in the next second, new bone quickly repaired it.

For creatures with Physique Evolution, this "one-off" type of attack was truly not a concern. If it couldn't be sustained, then even if the attack was ten times stronger, it would merely be a question of consuming a bit more energy for him.

Richard glanced at the burned-out Mayfly combat group, and suddenly a hint of Holy Light emanated from his body.

The next moment, a river of souls appeared like a long river. These souls were supposed to enter the Mayfly Dimension, becoming part of the Mayfly's contribution. However, under the influence of the Netherworld Rules, a new tributary suddenly appeared in this river of souls.

Among the hundred thousand souls, several hundred were drawn by the Netherworld Rules, becoming Richard's external fuel reserve.

Although the Netherworld Rules could draw more, Richard knew that his actions were competing with the Mayfly Dimension for resources. A slight shortage could be explained away, but a more substantial lack would surely attract the attention of the Mayfly Dimension.

Despite his strength, Richard was just a Five Rings Great Wizard. Many on the battlefield could kill him.

There was no need for him to endanger himself for such a small gain.

Moreover, given the intensity at the front line, even if he only acquired less than one percent of the souls, he had accumulated nearly a billion souls over the past year.

This number was so large that Richard was considering using these souls to artificially create several World Lord Level undead creatures as his pets.

Suddenly, Richard stopped walking.

His eyes sharply focused on the World's North Pole, as if they could see through millions of miles to witness the astonishing sight located there.

Richard murmured to himself, "The technology of these insects is a bit perverse."

At the World's North Pole, the massive Expedition Nest rose slowly. This enormous entity, over twenty kilometers in diameter, was slowly reshaping itself in the sky, gradually becoming an asteroid-sized insect.

The technique of Alchemy Wizards, which involves integrating alchemy machines into their bodies, was also present among the Galaxy Mayfly.

However, unlike simplification, the Galaxy Mayflies had refined it, combining it with their unique technology to transform it into a proprietary skill for the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor—Nest Armament.

Yet, the Kings of Mayfly were not fond of this unappealing name, and they preferred to call this technology—Imperial Chariot.

The terrifying fluctuations of the Imperial Chariot promptly resounded across the entire western battlefield. At the same time, be it the Kings of Mayfly or the Great Wizards, all turned their gaze towards the World's North Pole simultaneously.

"These insects really lack any sense of coordination."

The Annihilation Storm Great Wizard sighed, shaking his head as he stared at the World's North Pole.

He had hoped to have a tacit agreement with these insects, where neither side moved, letting the troops below battle it out.

As Level 6 Creatures, standing at the pinnacle of most life forms, why fight to the death?

But now it was too late for words.

With the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor making a move, he, as a Six Rings Great Wizard, had to take action as well.

The Annihilation Storm Great Wizard suddenly vanished, and when he reappeared, he was already in the sky above the command post.

Four massive Space Rifts unfolded in the air like four giant eyes. Behind the eyes were the Four Great Elemental Domains.

Pure elements from the Elemental Domains poured into the Annihilation Storm Great Wizard's Rule Body like converging rivers.

In an instant, his smoke-like body expanded to several kilometers large.

The smoky body transformed into an ancient face, and a thunderous voice emerged from his mouth.

"You've made quite a big shell, but is it made of iron or paper?"

...

"Continue the advance."

Richard commanded the army.

With the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor taking action, it was for the Six Rings Great Wizard to deal with, and the foot soldiers only needed to fulfill their duties.

Buzz!

A flash of light suddenly shot from the Void, instantly vaporizing Richard's head.

Subsequently, several figures emerged from the Void, each radiating an imposing aura akin to mountains.

"Seems like nothing special."

The King of Mayfly, who launched the attack, emitted a buzzing sound full of disdain.

Yet before its voice dissipated, Richard's headless, colossal body appeared before it.

"I knew there would be fools aiming at my head."

Boom!

Richard punched out, the fist light infused with Abyssal Power instantly piercing through the Rule Body of the King of Mayfly.

The dark red Abyssal Power spread wantonly within the Rule Body like ink.

The Kings of Mayfly were stunned by the scene, momentarily forgetting to attack.

Though for a World Master, the head was not a fatal weak point, it couldn't be denied that as the controller of the physical body, once the head was destroyed, even a World Master with Physique Evolution would significantly weaken in controlling their body.

But the scene before them completely overturned their understanding.

As they watched their companion being wantonly eroded by the Abyssal Power, finally, a King of Mayfly snapped out of their shock.

"Quick, take action, this guy's control center isn't in its skull!"

Richard turned to look at the King of Mayfly, a large eye opened on his chest, and below this eye, a big mouth filled with sharp teeth grinned menacingly:

"Smart, but smart people often don't live long."

What the King of Mayfly said was very true, his brain indeed wasn't in his skull. As a human, he was well aware of how obvious the head was.

During evolution, he deliberately changed the position of his brain. It was to prevent being sabotaged, losing his head and causing his body to lose control suddenly.

The King of Mayfly shivered under that gaze, the hairs on his body stood on end.

"Kill him!" he screeched.

In an instant, all the Kings of Mayfly displayed their signature skills.

Two million energy level elemental fierce flames, rule poison enough to kill fifth-level creatures, curse creatures that couldn't be killed without knowing the rules...

If these things hit accurately, even with Richard's combat power reaching that of a sixth-level creature, he would fall on the spot.

But before these attacks could land, Richard's body "puff" turned into a mass of the Power of Faith.

"Miracles are really handy."

Richard's body suddenly emerged from the void, and the fist light entwined with the power of the abyss instantly pierced through the King of Mayfly who mastered the power of mystery.

This was the only King of Mayfly present who could see through miracles, and as long as he was dealt with, the remaining Kings of Mayfly were merely a matter of consuming energy for Richard.

Watching the abyssal power invade the Rule Body of the King of Mayfly recklessly, Richard's newly grown head showed a menacing smile.

The terrifying aspect of the abyss is "turning enemies into friends." Any creature eroded into a demon by the abyss, no matter how firm their will, would instantly become a minion of the abyss.

If this King of Mayfly were fully eroded, he would instantly regard the abyss demons as his own civilization.

By then, all the information he accessed as the King of Mayfly would be available for Richard to use.

As an Abyss Blessing, Richard was a presence second only to the Dominator among the abyss demons.

But before Richard's smile could finish, a sense of fatal danger made his hairs stand on end.

Buzz!

A flash of light suddenly shot out from the void.

Passing through the spot where Richard had just been, if he hadn't dodged in time, this flash would have instantly vaporized half of his body.

Richard abruptly looked towards the west, where the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor had already engaged the Annihilation Storm Great Wizard. But to Richard's surprise, the Annihilation Storm Great Wizard was actually being suppressed by the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor.

So much so that the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor even had the leisure to aid the other Kings of Mayfly.

Richard's face showed a hint of gravity, this war's outcome, though important at the lower levels, was actually determined by the results of the upper-level battlefield.

If one side were to lose in the upper-level battlefield, then their lower-level battlefield would inevitably fall into disadvantage, even directly be defeated.

"No, I need to deal with these guys quickly."

Richard made up his mind, he needed to lend a hand to the Annihilation Storm Great Wizard.

Although he was now only at the Five Rings, after the Abyss Blessing, Dimension Witchcraft, and Alchemy Enchantment, achieving sixth-level creature combat strength in a short time wasn't a problem.

And reaching sixth-level combat strength, he wouldn't be instantly killed by the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor in one blow.

Not being instantly killed would be enough for Richard to participate in this battle.

With this thought, Richard looked at the King of Mayfly beside him. Under his gaze, even the Kings of Mayfly felt a chill.

That feeling was like being watched by a natural enemy.

Richard quietly said, "Gentlemen, I am in a hurry, if you want to live, you better run now. Otherwise..."

"It will be too late."

...

The daylight dimmed, thunder resounded.

In the dark gray storm, lightning roamed like snakes.

Within this storm, endless elements continuously underwent annihilation reactions. That tide-like energy spiraled and roamed within the storm, eventually transforming into a source of witchcraft energy shooting out of the storm, towards the giant insect-like asteroids.

"Wizard, I overestimated you."

The asteroid-like Mayfly Quasi-Emperor let out a low-pitched insect hum.

"After using the Imperial Chariot, you are simply not my match."

On the vast storm appeared an old man's face, his eyes widened in anger, and the flames of fury almost turned tangible.

He shouted loudly, his voice like a thousand bells ringing simultaneously.

"Insect, you overestimate yourself. I admit, I indeed cannot defeat you. But what of it?

As long as I hold you off, that's enough for me.

Holding you off, we can win this war."

"Hold me off?"

The voice of the Mayfly Quasi-Emperor carried a hint of mockery.

"You can't hold me off, nor can you win this war."

As he spoke, the power of the Dimension surged within him, the power formed from the death of thousands of Mayflies, continuously pouring into his body like a tidal wave.

"Wizard, in this war, you are doomed... hm?"

The Mayfly Quasi-Emperor suddenly looked towards the east, where a small figure was rapidly approaching him.
