Wizard: I Can Refine Everything

Chapter 75: Secrets of the Past

"Oh? This plot is rather clichéd." Richard stood in the air, casually commenting.

Under the probe of the energy wave, the land within tens of kilometers became extremely clear to him. Suddenly, he glanced subtly to the east, where ten kilometers away in that direction, a very robust Four-Eyed Man was hiding behind a curtain, complacently watching Avery and Richard.

Richard's face revealed a trace of mocking smile.

"You think hiding behind the deep veil would keep you unseen?"

The world outside the curtain would appear as projections in the layers between the curtain. Likewise, objects in the shallow layers would project into the deeper layers.

Compared to Richard's reconnaissance magic, the location of this self-proclaimed Stassin is still too shallow.

However, Richard didn't tell Avery that he had already found Stassin's position. The appearance of Grigo caused some changes in Richard's plan to incorporate the Control Bureau. Before figuring out how to deal with Grigo, someone needed to attract the Control Bureau's attention.

Of course, part of it was that Richard wanted to hear what grievances or grudges existed between these two individuals.

"Don't listen to that chaotic nonsense, he's already mad."

Avery continuously scanned the surroundings, trying to find the true form of Stassin. But his vision was still too shallow, far from seeing into the layer Stassin was in.

"Mad? Old friend, as mad as I might be, it's nothing compared to you. I still don't understand how you can stand by and watch the Four-Eyed people head towards extinction!"

Stassin's voice became angry, like a volcanic eruption. Such a big emotional shift made Richard feel that what Avery said might not just be mocking.

"World fusion is inevitable! Your and Grigo's patchwork, fix-it-as-it-comes approach can't change this fact. It's like boiling a frog in warm water, those seemingly noble rescues are actually depleting the foundation of the Four-Eyed people's future survival!"

"Still the same twisted logic, Stassin, doesn't your organization have the money to get you a psychiatrist?"

Avery had evidently heard Stassin's rhetoric many times before, to the point where he didn't even bother to argue, focusing instead on finding where Stassin was hiding.

"To be honest, his plan isn't too bad." Richard suddenly spoke up, "If fusion is inevitable, then preparations must be made for after fusion."

"My friend, don't be fooled by him." Avery replied while looking at Richard, "His claim that fusion is inevitable is his own rhetoric, we still haven't found actual evidence. And it's precisely because this bastard throws space shock bombs around at random that the invasion disaster accelerated to this degree within two hundred years.

And even if fusion is unavoidable, premature fusion is not a good thing. Those disaster beasts, we are currently not strong enough to contend with them."

"Avery, do you believe your own words?" Stassin mocked with his words, "Although I think Grigo is a fool, aren't you aware of his strength? If he hadn't broken through the bottleneck back then, the catastrophe wouldn't have happened at all, he alone would have been able to kill all those disaster beasts!"

"And then be worn down to death by continuously resurrecting disaster beasts?"

"Hm?"

Richard was startled and suddenly looked at Ulysses on his shoulder, Ulysses also looked at him almost simultaneously.

They both saw the shock in each other's eyes.

Resurrection? And continuous resurrection?

Still native?

As a wizard, Richard might not be extremely knowledgeable, but he did know a few strange tales. When wizards conquer other planes, they do sometimes encounter World Masters who can resurrect. But such resurrection is usually very crude and comes with great limitations.

Continuous resurrection to the point of wearing down a suspected Level 6 creature is something that should not be possible.

"This is getting more and more interesting," Richard muttered to himself.

The situation in this world is more complex than he imagined.

Amidst the verbal battle, the giant elephant, as large as a small mountain, in the space rift had already approached the rift.

This was an enormous creature with a shoulder height exceeding 500 meters, four massive tusks stretched out from its enormous head, with a jade-like luster. Its skin was somewhat pale, and as it moved, strands of azure magic patterns faintly emerged from beneath its skin.

These magic patterns were summoning the wind elements, a massive amount of which lifted the giant elephant like invisible hands, making the large creature appear as light as an ordinary elephant when it moved.

"A Level 5 creature, physique evolution, truly a rare treasure."

Richard took a deep breath, his eyes filled with the excitement of seeing a treasure. Beside him, Avery looked at Richard with a hint of astonishment on his face.

"Friend, what did you say?"

The gap between Fourth Level and Fifth Level is like a chasm, not to mention this magic elephant among Level 5 creatures was definitely not weak. As it charged, he couldn't help but feel a bit of trembling in his heart.

But this Exotic Realm's World Master showed no sign of panic, instead he appeared somewhat eager.

Could it be that their avatars are worthless? Or...

Bam!

The rift in the sky suddenly expanded under the impact of the giant elephant, the small mountain-like magic elephant rushed towards Richard and Avery in the sky with a world-pushing demeanor.

"Humph—"

With a low huff, a hurricane suddenly sprayed out from the trunk of the Magic Elephant. Wind Blades capable of tearing space flew towards the duo and one bird in the air like raindrops.

"What a fascinating world."

Richard calmly raised a Magic Barrier. This storm looked intimidating, but these Wind Blades had a power level of only one or two ten thousand Energy Levels, useful for clearing small fry, but when dealing with a World Master, they're rather lackluster.

"It's surprising to see so many World Master Level Magic Beasts, and of different races too."

In ordinary worlds, Magic Beasts either become totems, occupying the position of a Divine as the World Guardian, or remain as mere wild beasts, being casually hunted by the local natives.

Richard did not detect traces of the Power of Faith on this Magic Elephant, which means it wasn't the totem of some intelligent race. This phenomenon only has one explanation, namely, the absence of intelligent races in this Magic Elephant's world.

Considering the previous encounter with the Calamity Big Snake and the information about the Cataclysm, Richard believed that these beast hordes were likely from a single world.

"Hahaha, isn't my gift to you three quite decent? I hope you will like it."

Seeing the Magic Elephant's attack, Stassin laughed, somewhat triumphantly. Richard glanced disdainfully at his position and then looked at the Magic Elephant before him.

"Ulysses, what do you think of this Magic Elephant?"

"Gaa, not sure, but its meat..."

"Stop, who asked you about that. I'm asking if you noticed anything unusual about this Magic Elephant?"

Staring at the Magic Elephant, Richard activated the Eye of Truth in his left eye, and his eyeball transformed like a kaleidoscope. Amid the transformations, the Magic Elephant's body gradually shifted, eventually manifesting into a sprawling matrix of pure Rules.

Within these complex Rules that could dizzy anyone at first glance, Richard noticed a chain-like Rule.

The Rule extended from the Magic Elephant's body to a Space Rift, and into another world.

"A World Master birthed from a unique Rule? Quite intriguing, indeed."

Richard laughed heartily, waving his Magic Wand as the head of the Balancing Hand lit up like a radiant sun. Detecting the fearsome power in the light, Avery abruptly turned to look at Richard.

The next moment, the light exploded.

More than twenty thousand Energy Levels of Sun's Vision pierced through the Heavenly Vault like a spear, also puncturing the Magic Elephant's body.

This World Master of the Magic Beast World is easier to handle than a native world's World Master; lacking the wisdom of races, these creatures' fights are still confined to the clash of foundational qualities and Talent Abilities. Although this allowed them to advance far in Physique Evolution, the improvements brought by evolution are only explored by them to one-tenth or so.

Moreover, due to a lack of diverse methods, when they encounter Wizards—a race with flamboyant abilities—they nearly get trapped, sinking bit by bit into the Abyss of Death.

"Roar—"

The Magic Elephant, in pain, let out a terrifying cry. The roar transformed into shockwaves in the air, instantly collapsing residences and buildings within several kilometers. This roar alone is enough to shatter the internal organs of those with strength below Third Level Quadruple Eyes, and if not for Avery timely protecting the members of the nearby Control Bureau, this roar would make Anderson act alone.

In the shockwave, Richard's expression remained unchanged. He swung the Balancing Hand again, and complex energy crystals began forming in the air. These energy crystals hovered in the air, forming an equally complex structure.

They were connected by magical strings, but before the witchcraft could take shape, the Magic Elephant turned and fled.

Magic Beasts, though weak in many areas compared to intelligent races, have instincts that are superior to many intelligent races.

The Magic Elephant sensed a deadly threat within the crystalline structure.

"Sigh, without a Rule Body, using witchcraft is cumbersome."

Watching the fleeing Magic Elephant, Richard shook his head helplessly. He is only a clone now. Although the clone can use witchcraft, it is clearly impossible to perform High Tier Witchcraft as smoothly as the main body, let alone using Ten-Ring Witchcraft.

But even if the Magic Elephant ran away, Richard did not dispel the witchcraft. The next moment, from the space around the Magic Elephant, two Crow Claws of Black Flame emerged, grabbing its hind legs.

Sensing the resistance, the Magic Elephant growled, releasing intense energy waves. In the next instant, countless Wind Blades sliced through the Crow Claws like a meat grinder, scattering Black Flame across the sky. But in the following second, the Black Flame climbed onto the Magic Elephant's body as if alive.

The Black Flame enveloped the Magic Elephant like blood-sucking thorns, continuously burning the strength from its body. If it were under normal circumstances, the Magic Elephant could still handle such a method. But now, it simply wished to escape Richard as quickly as possible.

The pitch-black fire burned fiercely, as if the Magic Elephant had charged out from a Hellish nightmare, rushing headlong back to its original world.

"Too bad, it still got away."

In Richard's helpless voice, the near-completion of witchcraft came to a halt. The intricate crystalline structure began to slowly dissipate, the abundant energy either returning to Richard's body or dispersing into the air.

However, even so, the slowly drifting snowflakes were enough to awe everyone present.

"What is that?"

Avery, gazing at the structure slowly dissipating, pondered with some trepidation.

Not only did the Magic Elephant feel a mortal threat in the witchcraft, but the other two World Masters present also sensed a mortal threat.

On that structure, they felt a coldness as though the world was ending.
