Chapter 227: Lin Jinwu

Boom! Boom!

A surge of intense black-gold light burst from Jinwu's body, and his enormous form swiftly began to shrink. As the light settled, his shape transformed to a human size, revealing a figure that left Lin Langtian momentarily speechless.

Standing before him was a young man clad in a black-gold robe, his features strikingly handsome—almost to the point of being angelic. Likely due to his recent transformation, Jinwu's face held a youthful innocence, a childlike quality beneath his otherwise composed exterior. The contrast between his fierce aura as a Nine Calamity Black Gold Raven and his innocent expression created an unusual charm, one that would undoubtedly captivate anyone who saw him.

Staring at this new figure in awe, Lin Langtian finally broke the silence with a gentle smile, saying, "Jinwu, congratulations…"

Upon hearing his name, the young man's expression brightened, the stoic look giving way to a wide, heartfelt smile. He opened his mouth, seemingly wanting to speak, but only managed a few stammering breaths before he finally said, in a rough but heartfelt voice, "M-Master."

"No need for that." Lin Langtian shook his head, reaching out to ruffle Jinwu's hair. "From now on, you'll be called Lin Jinwu. You're my brother, so just call me 'big brother.'"

To Lin Langtian, Jinwu was as much a partner as any lifelong friend. Unlike a servant, Jinwu's bond with him was built on camaraderie, and as Lin Langtian knew, a brotherly relationship was the strongest bond of all.

Jinwu blinked, a bit surprised, but soon, a shy smile appeared on his handsome face. He nodded earnestly. "Big… Big Brother."

Satisfied, Lin Langtian nodded, and his thoughts drifted momentarily to Ling Qingzhu, who also had a Black Gold Raven—albeit a Seven Calamity one. No doubt with the resources of the Nine Heavens Taiqing Palace, it had long taken human form as well.

At this moment, Aunt Ling appeared beside them, nodding in approval as she observed Jinwu. "Not bad at all for a Nine Calamity Black Gold Raven."

Grinning, Lin Langtian nodded as well and turned to Jinwu. "This is Aunt Ling. You should show her even more respect than you do to me."

Aunt Ling's eyes softened at his words, sensing his genuine respect for her. Meanwhile, Jinwu immediately gave a respectful bow, his loyalty to Lin Langtian leaving no room for hesitation.

After a long look at Jinwu and Lin Langtian, Aunt Ling smiled softly. As a descendant of the noble Nine Nether Flame Sparrow lineage, she'd always experienced the world through the strict and often isolating lens of royalty. For her, moments of genuine affection like this were rare, stirring a deep warmth within her.

"So, Jinwu, what is your current strength?" Lin Langtian asked, curious about Jinwu's new power level after evolving into a Nine Calamity Black Gold Raven. Even he found it hard to pinpoint Jinwu's precise strength now, though he sensed the powerful aura radiating from his companion.

Jinwu flashed a modest smile and held up three fingers.

"Three Yuan Nirvana?" Lin Langtian's jaw dropped in amazement. "From half-step Nirvana all the way to Third Yuan Nirvana? Unbelievable!"

"It's not so surprising," Aunt Ling interjected, smiling at Lin Langtian's astonished expression. "As a royal beast, Jinwu naturally has the potential to leap through such levels. Now that he has advanced to a Nine Calamity Black Gold Raven, combined with the strong foundation he has built, this is simply the result of all that effort coming to fruition."

With that, she flicked her wrist, and a black scroll appeared in her hand. She tossed it to Jinwu. "This is the Heavenly Calamity Record, a rare Black Gold Raven technique. If you can master it, your future achievements will be extraordinary."

Jinwu caught the scroll, its surface glimmering with a mysterious black-gold sheen and emitting faint, low cries of an ancient creature. He glanced at the scroll in awe but then looked to Lin Langtian for guidance, as if seeking permission.

"It's from Aunt Ling; go ahead and accept it," Lin Langtian said with a smile. Being a spirit beast himself, Jinwu was naturally more attuned to Aunt Ling's guidance than to Lin Langtian's. And the stronger Jinwu became, the greater their shared advantages.

After Jinwu accepted the scroll, Lin Langtian summoned his ancient key, and a swirling vortex appeared in the space ahead, rippling with powerful waves of energy.

"Alright, time to go," Lin Langtian announced with a smile, watching as Aunt Ling returned to his body. With no further delay, he stepped into the vortex, Jinwu close behind him.

As they disappeared, the vortex spun faster before dissolving into silence, leaving the ancient space to await the next adventurer. But none would experience the legacy of Que Tian in the same way that Lin Langtian had.
