Chapter 25
Chapter 25: Su Chen, I’m Sorry:
The four middle-aged men stared at Su Chen in stunned silence.
Hadn’t their sons beaten him so badly that he was on the verge of death? Yet here he was, moving far too quickly for someone who was supposed to be critically injured.
What was going on?
Doubt crept into their minds.
Had Su Chen’s injuries never been that serious in the first place?
They recalled the brutal beating they had just given their own children—bloody wounds, swollen faces, barely able to stand. And on top of that, they had each given Su Chen 1.2 million yuan.
And now?
Looking at their own children—practically crippled—while Su Chen remained completely fine, a burning rage began to rise within them.
They wanted to curse him out.
They wanted to snatch their money back.
But then, all four of them glanced at Su Zhenxing, standing off to the side.
He wasn’t saying a word.
He wasn’t reacting at all.
He simply stood there, gazing up at the sky as if deep in thought.
That silence was enough.
It was permission.
It was acceptance.
That was when it hit them—Su Zhenxing wasn’t actually against what Su Chen was doing.
This wasn’t the neglected son they had assumed him to be.
Hadn’t they been told that Su Chen held no value in the Su family? That he was looked down upon?
If that were true, then why was the head of the Su family allowing this to happen?
The realization sent a chill down their spines.
They exchanged uneasy glances.
Maybe they had misjudged the situation.
Maybe Su Chen’s status in the Su family wasn’t as low as they had thought.
And if that were the case…
It was best to cut their losses and leave while they still could.
The four men forced out strained smiles.
“Ah, good, good! As long as you’re okay!”
“Yes, yes, that’s what matters the most!”
“Take the money, child, and use it to recover properly.”
“We’ll be taking our sons home now, but rest assured—we won’t let this slide. We’ll discipline them further when we get back.”
They assumed that at this point, Su Chen would be satisfied.
That he would let them go.
That this nightmare would finally end.
But Su Chen wasn’t done.
His expression suddenly twisted in pain, and he clutched his chest, letting out a deep, wet cough.
When he pulled his hand away, it was stained red.
The four men jerked back in horror.
What the hell?!
He had just been perfectly fine a second ago! How was he coughing up blood now?!
Su Chen’s body trembled, his breathing shallow as he collapsed weakly against the floor. His eyes fluttered, barely staying open.
“U-Uncles…” he croaked, his voice barely above a whisper.
“This was just… a small fight between children… nothing worth mentioning…”
“But still…”
“Your sons did beat me.”
“I’m not asking for much… I don’t even want revenge…”
“But shouldn’t they at least apologize?”
“Uncles, I say this for your sake… If children aren’t properly disciplined when they’re young, what will happen when they grow up and cause real trouble?”
The four fathers felt rage boiling inside them.
Haven’t we done enough already?!
They had beat their own children into the ground.
They had given away nearly five million yuan.
And now, Su Chen was asking for an apology?!
But then, they saw him again.
Su Zhenxing.
Still standing there.
Still saying nothing.
Still looking up at the sky, his silence heavier than words.
They knew what that meant.
They had no choice.
Grinding their teeth, the four men turned and stormed outside, dragging their half-unconscious sons back into the living room.
The four once-arrogant boys had been reduced to tattered, miserable wrecks. Their clothes were ripped and stained with blood, their bodies covered in bruises and welts.
Just hours ago, they had stood here mocking Su Chen.
Now, they could barely stand at all.
Their fathers didn’t even try to be gentle—they shoved them onto the floor, making them collapse at Su Chen’s feet in a pathetic heap.
“You little bastards!” one of the fathers growled.
“Apologize. Now.”
“You don’t hit people!” another barked.
The four boys glared at Su Chen.
They weren’t afraid of him.
They were furious.
What kind of man ran to his parents when things got tough?
If Su Chen had a spine, he would’ve fought them one-on-one.
But calling in the adults?
That was pathetic.
They refused to bow their heads.
Su Chen watched them struggle, his heart filled with satisfaction.
Look at them.
So full of anger.
So full of hate.
But completely helpless.
They could glare all they wanted.
In the end, they would still have to apologize.
With exaggerated weakness, Su Chen let out another pained groan, his body trembling.
“Ahh… it hurts… so much…”
“I… I think I’m dying…”
“Ahhhhhh—”
Finally, even Su Zhenxing had enough.
He turned his glare onto the boys, his fury unmistakable.
These brats had already lost.
What were they so angry about?!
Their fathers saw the look in his eyes and immediately reacted.
“Say it!” one roared, kicking his son.
“Apologize, you little bastard!”
“You want another beating?!”
“Do it now!”
The boys, already at their limit, finally broke.
“Fine! Fine!”
“We’re sorry! We shouldn’t have hit you!”
“We’re sorry, Su Chen!”
“Please, forgive us!”
But their expressions betrayed them.
Their words were forced, their eyes burned with resentment, and their smiles were twisted with humiliation.
And Su Chen loved it.
He grinned.
“Alright,” he said lightly. “I forgive you.”
“I just hope… you won’t bully others again.”
“That’s not what good kids do, after all.”
“Your fathers care about you so much… Don’t let them down.”
