Chapter 36:
Chapter 36: If You Think I’m a Disgrace, Then Let’s Cut Ties:
“A disgrace?! Embarrassing the Su family?!”
Su Chen suddenly grabbed the chair behind him and, like a trapped beast, began pacing around the dining room, smashing it against the walls and the table. His eyes, filled with fury, locked onto Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran as he roared,
“Su Zhenxing! Liu Yanran! Since you think I’m such a disgrace, then let’s cut ties!”
“Let’s go to the notary office and make it official—Su Chen and the Su family will have nothing to do with each other from now on. Life or death, we’ll be strangers.”
“That way, I won’t be disgracing your precious Su family anymore.”
“Well?! Are you going or not?”
“Do you even dare?!”
As he shouted and smashed things around, the chair in his hands suddenly broke apart from the sheer force.
Crash!
The chair legs snapped off and flew in different directions.
Su Chen froze for a moment. This chair is way too weak!
Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran flinched involuntarily.
It felt as if Su Chen wasn’t really trying to smash the chair—but them.
Their anger flared.
Pointing at Su Chen, Su Zhenxing bellowed,
“Su Chen, what do you think you’re doing?!”
“Who are you trying to scare?! Do you think you can intimidate me?!”
“Don’t think I don’t see through you—you’re just trying to threaten me.”
“As if you’d ever willingly leave the Su family!”
“The Su family is the richest in Haishi! How could you bear to leave?!”
“But listen carefully, Su Chen. Staying in the Su family is not something you can achieve by acting crazy and making demands.”
“If you want to stay, first, you must not embarrass the family. Second, you must bring honor to the family.”
“The Su family will not support a worthless failure.”
“Do you understand?!”
Liu Yanran glared at Su Chen, feeling utterly humiliated.
“Exactly! Su Chen, don’t think you can manipulate us with this nonsense!”
“If we actually did sever ties, you’d regret it for the rest of your life!”
Su Mu had originally planned to add fuel to the fire, but seeing Su Chen smashing things like a madman, he suddenly reconsidered. I’m like a fine piece of jade—I can’t let myself get mixed up with a pile of rubble like Su Chen.
So, he wisely held his tongue.
Su Qiqi, even more so, remained silent.
She had already learned the hard way that she was no match for Su Chen physically. Seeing him in this state, she knew that if he decided to turn his anger on her, not even their father could stop him.
At that point, she’d just be beaten for nothing.
So, she kept her mouth shut.
With no one else to redirect his anger toward, Su Chen turned his full attention to Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran.
Looking at the broken chair in his hand, he felt unsatisfied.
So, he threw it aside, walked up to Su Zhenxing, and yanked the chair from under him.
Caught off guard, Su Zhenxing lost his balance and fell to the floor with a thud.
His face turned as black as the bottom of a burnt pot, his entire body trembling with rage.
Liu Yanran gasped and immediately stood up, afraid that Su Chen might pull her chair away as well.
She couldn’t afford to fall and embarrass herself like that.
Su Chen, now holding an intact chair, resumed his rampage, slamming it against the walls and table.
Bang! Bang!
At the same time, he glared at Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran, his voice booming through the dining room.
“Hahaha!”
“The Su family is the richest in Haishi?! What the hell does that have to do with me?!”
“You think I’ve been living a good life in this so-called prestigious Su family?!”
“I was doing just fine in the orphanage! The government provided food, shelter, clothing, and even money! And best of all, no one was constantly pointing at my nose, calling me a disgrace!”
“But then you two…”
Su Chen pointed at Su Zhenxing and Liu Yanran, his face full of hatred and regret. He resumed smashing the chair, as if venting all his pent-up anger.
“You two insisted on finding me! You just had to bring me into the Su family!”
“And how did you trick me into coming here?!”
“You told me you were my real parents. That you would love and care for me. That I would finally experience the warmth of family. That I’d never have to worry about money again.”
“And what happened?!”
“In the Su family, I was shoved into a damp, dark, tiny room. I didn’t even have proper clothes to wear. And worst of all, I was the only one being denied money.”
“Damn it, my life in the orphanage was better than this!”
“At least my room there was bright and spacious! The government bought us new clothes regularly! We got allowances! No one stood in front of me every day, calling me a disgrace!”
“You tell me, both of you—tell me!”
“Su Zhenxing! Liu Yanran! You tell me!”
“What’s so great about living in this miserable Su family?!”
“If anything, I can’t wait to get away from you people!”
“So? Have you thought about it?!”
“Let’s go to the notary office and make it official. From now on, Su Chen and the Su family will be completely cut off from each other!”
Hearing this, Su Zhenxing hesitated.
He thought back to the conditions Su Chen had been living in.
For a moment, he didn’t know how to argue back.
It seemed that… Su Chen was right.
If things had gone on as before, Su Chen’s life in the Su family truly wasn’t as good as in the orphanage.
Su Zhenxing shot Liu Yanran a sharp glare.
This is all because of this narrow-minded woman! It’s her fault for mistreating Su Chen. Now, I can’t even discipline him properly without him throwing it all back at me!
Liu Yanran frowned and looked away, avoiding his gaze.
After all, everything Su Chen said was true, and she knew it.
But how could she have predicted that the once silent and reserved Su Chen would one day explode like this?
If she had known he would turn out like this, she never would have treated him that way.
Meanwhile, Su Chen continued storming around the dining room like a wild beast, smashing the chair against the walls and table.
The walls were now full of dents and cracks, while the dining table was covered in deep, white gouges from his relentless attacks.
Su Zhenxing felt a headache coming on.
This kid is completely out of control.
For a moment, he considered pulling off his belt to “teach” Su Chen a lesson.
But then, he recalled the time Su Chen had handed him a knife and dared him to stab him in the neck.
His hand hesitated over his belt—then he quietly put it back down.
As for cutting ties with Su Chen? That was out of the question.
No matter what, Su Chen was still of Su family blood. There was no way they would officially sever their relationship.
But… how should they handle him now?
Looking at the scene before him—Su Chen rampaging through the dining room, the wrecked walls and table—Su Zhenxing furrowed his brows, his head pounding.
He knew it.
Tonight’s attempt to “educate” Su Chen had failed.
Again.
There was no getting through to him.
Frustrated, he stood up, threw down one last sentence, and stormed out of the dining room.
“Ungrateful brat! Ungrateful brat!”
“I don’t care about you anymore! Go embarrass yourself all you want!”
With that, he left with a deep sigh.
Liu Yanran frowned and followed suit.
If even Su Zhenxing had given up, what was the point of staying?
She couldn’t discipline Su Chen.
And watching him go crazy was just too terrifying.
With their departure, only Su Chen, Su Mu, and Su Qiqi remained in the dining room.
