You Expelled Me from the Sect, Now You’re Begging Me to Return—Why Should I?

Chapter 2:

Chapter 2: You Only Want My Life-Bound Flying Sword, And I Should Refuse?:

Ye Chen stepped forward, placing himself in front of Chu Ge. “Master, Senior Sisters, this matter truly has nothing to do with Senior Brother Chu. Although he was present at the time, he did not interfere with my path to the Dao. The reason my initiation was interrupted was simply because my talent wasn’t sufficient.”

Xie Qingya, worried about hurting Ye Chen, quickly withdrew her sword and spoke to him gently, “Xiao Chen, you’re too kind. Some people just aren’t worth it.”

Chu Ge almost laughed upon hearing this. Ye Chen was simply too kind. In the end, he had only drained Yun Yao and the seven senior sisters of their blood essence and spiritual energy before leaving them intact with their corpses. Looking at how Xie Qingya bared her heart to Ye Chen, Chu Ge couldn’t help but recall how he had once treated them the same way. And what was the result? A loyal dog never meets a good end. That was the truth. In his past life, he could only watch helplessly as Ye Chen ascended while his own body lay in ruins. This time, he refused to let that happen.

Chu Ge lightly patted Ye Chen, who was standing in front of him, and whispered into his ear, “If you’ve chosen to be a whore, why bother pretending to be virtuous?” His voice was neither loud nor soft—just enough for everyone in the hall to hear.

Ye Chen froze for a moment. Had he figured it out? That was impossible.

“Outrageous!”

“Shut up!”

“You’ve gone too far!”

A chorus of angry shouts erupted instantly.

Yun Yao’s face darkened with frost, her expression growing colder than ever. She never expected Chu Ge to be this arrogant. “Wretched disciple, I am deeply disappointed in you! You harmed Xiao Chen first, and yet he harbored no resentment and even defended you. Instead of being grateful, you insult him! If I don’t punish you severely today, what will become of the dignity of the Heavenly Dao Sacred Sect?”

Chu Ge gazed at Yun Yao indifferently, even allowing a faint smile to creep onto his face. Enraging Yun Yao now would only make it easier to achieve his goal. “Yun Yao, I’m also very disappointed in you. Do you really think you earned the position of sect master with your wisdom, courage, or hard work? First Senior Uncle, Second Senior Uncle, Fourth Martial Uncle, Fifth Martial Uncle—Which one of them didn’t have better talent than you? If you hadn’t been sucking the life out of me all this time, do you really think you would have climbed to where you are today?”

The senior sisters were stunned by Chu Ge’s audacity, but their shock quickly turned into rage.

“Are you insane?”

“Shut up!”

“What nonsense are you spewing?”

“Are you looking for death?”

Yun Yao’s face turned pale, then flushed with anger. Her fingers unconsciously sank into the frost jade throne beneath her. Her voice was as cold as the ice itself. “Let him speak!”

Chu Ge sneered and, with a mere thought, a silver flying sword appeared, joyfully circling him three times before hovering in the air. This was the sword that had accompanied him in battle for three hundred years—Soaring Swan.

“Isn’t this what you all want? Why put on such an elaborate show?”

The moment Chu Ge exposed their true intentions, Yun Yao’s rage momentarily faded, replaced by a flicker of panic. How did this cripple find out? But then she quickly relaxed. So what if he knows? He’s nothing more than a mere Qi Refinement cultivator now.

Third Senior Sister Xiao Biqin’s face turned red with embarrassment for a brief moment. But when she saw the eagerness in Ye Chen’s eyes, she discarded the last trace of guilt and spoke coldly, “Chu Ge, you maliciously sabotaged Junior Brother Ye’s chance at fortune. Compensation is only fair. This Soaring Swan Sword could serve as a crucial component for refining his life-bound sword, enhancing its quality. By contributing to Junior Brother Ye, you are contributing to the sect. Given your current state, you should feel honored to be of use to the sect!”

Chu Ge did not respond to her. Instead, he turned to look at his other senior sisters and his master. “Is this what all of you believe as well?”

Xie Qingya scoffed. “Only those worthy should possess great treasures. With your current cultivation, Soaring Swan is useless to you. Moreover, Junior Brother Ye is the future of our Heavenly Dao Sacred Sect. His life-bound sword must be of the highest quality! If you have even the slightest gratitude toward the sect, you should willingly offer up your sword!”

Chu Ge was amazed. Three hundred years had changed everything. Even human nature had become so utterly shameless. He turned to Sixth Senior Sister Zhou Zhilan. She hesitated for a moment but then chose to remain silent. As long as she could focus on studying Yin-Yang divination, these matters had nothing to do with her.

Yun Yao met Chu Ge’s calm, clear gaze and, for a brief moment, recalled the days when he used to practice swordsmanship beside her as a child. But it was only for an instant before she banished the thought from her mind. Ye Chen was the future of the sect, while Chu Ge was nothing more than a burden.

“Chu Ge, you have shown blatant disrespect to your elders and harmed your fellow disciples. You deserve severe punishment. However, considering your past injuries, I will be lenient. Ye Chen’s life-bound sword is crucial to the sect. If you hand over Soaring Swan, it will count as making amends for your wrongdoings.”

In truth, Soaring Swan was only a ninth-tier Earth-grade weapon—far from the best in the sect. However, after three hundred years of absorbing killing intent, it had become invaluable for nurturing an artifact spirit. They had long been looking for an excuse to take it from him. But since Chu Ge was still a decorated hero of the sect, outright robbing him would damage their reputation. Today, with the issue of Ye Chen’s Dao initiation, they had the perfect opportunity to justify their actions.

Chu Ge glanced at Ye Chen and sneered. “So, Master and Senior Sister claim to love you so much, yet their love is just empty words? Senior Sister’s Crimson Sky Sword and Master’s Heavenly Frost Divine Sword are both far superior to my Soaring Swan. If they care so much about you, why don’t they just give you one of theirs?”

Ye Chen subconsciously looked toward Xie Qingya and Yun Yao.

Xie Qingya’s expression darkened, her brows furrowing. “Chu Ge, stop trying to sow discord! Forcefully severing a life-bound flying sword causes severe damage to one’s cultivation and even harms the foundation. What are you trying to do? Are you hoping for something to happen to me and Master?”

“Wretched disciple, how I conduct myself is none of your concern!” Yun Yao snorted coldly, and Chu Ge staggered under the force of her pressure.

Chu Ge sneered. “Oh, so you and Senior Sister would suffer if you severed your life-bound swords, but I wouldn’t?”

Chen Shiyun frowned. When did Chu Ge become so sharp-tongued and sarcastic? All they wanted was a single life-bound sword. Yet he was acting so dramatic, ridiculing everyone. Truly disgusting.

“Chu Ge, do you even know your place? How dare you compare yourself to Senior Sister and Master!” Zhao Xueqing shouted angrily.

Xiao Biqin folded her arms, looking at Chu Ge as if he were a clown. Did he really think he had a choice? Handing over the sword willingly would at least spare him some suffering.

Chu Ge sighed and reluctantly guided Soaring Swan toward Ye Chen. “Farewell, old friend.”

Yun Yao and the others breathed a sigh of relief. This cripple may have a sharp tongue, but at least he knows when to kneel.

Ye Chen’s eyes glowed with greed as he reached for the sword—then he saw the mocking smile on Chu Ge’s lips.

Something’s wrong!

“No!”

“Trash like you is unworthy of my sword!” Chu Ge smirked. With a single thought, Soaring Swan let out a sorrowful wail before shattering into countless pieces. If he had to leave, he would never let this dog benefit from it!
