Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower

Chapter 131: Trade

There was no such thing as a potion. At least for now. However, Ivy knew one thing as she would advance in her superpower, many would start to become suspicious of the fact that the zombies ignored her.

At that time, she would need an excuse… and she had already come up with one. As for the man… she made sure to teach him a good lesson.

Who asked him to go against her when she was acting all good? She knew that in an apocalypse, evil people exist, and they will try to take advantage of her. So she was planning to return evil with evil. Mercy wasn't in her book.

Ivy soon reached a secluded corner, stored away the machine, and returned to her land on Scooter. On the way, she thought about how she would need a modular layout for water sourcing in houses. The only problem was… she didn't know how to do it.

Since she was the one who was planning to provide the water, she wouldn't be opting for the drilling. Instead, she decided to ask Silas for help.

That evening, when she returned to the apartment, she saw Silas lost in his thoughts sitting at the table. Sensing her arrival, he turned toward and flashed her a gentle smile.

Ivy walked up to Silas and tilted her head.

"What are you thinking about?" she asked.

Silas looked at her, his gentle smile still on his face.

"Oh, nothing," he said. "Just some military matters." Then he leaned forward a little and asked, "Where are you coming from?"

Ivy's eyes flickered. She had already thought about what she wanted to say.

"I met a very unique person today," she said quickly.

"This person wants to open up her own base. She asked me about finding an engineering team. The work is about building a water supply system. The only thing is, she doesn't want the water to come from drilling. She wants to supply it on her own. So, can you help me find a group of engineers who can make something like that?"

Silas raised his eyebrow in interest. A glint flashed in his eyes. He leaned back in his chair and thought for a moment before replying.

"It is possible," he said slowly. "But your friend would need to provide the materials. Pipes, tanks, connectors… these things are hard to find nowadays."

Ivy's face was calm. "There won't be any problem," she said. She had checked the system, and materials like Pipes and tanks weren't present. She would have to buy it from outside.

Silas nodded after hearing that. He didn't know what Ivy was truly thinking, but his tone was steady.

"If that is the case," he said, "then I will find an engineering team for you."

The next day, Ivy really did get her team. Three people came to meet her.

The first was a young woman with sharp eyes and neat brown hair tied into a bun. She introduced herself with confidence.

"My name is Alexa. I'm a civil engineer," she said.

Behind her stood two men, one tall and thin with glasses, the other shorter but broad-shouldered. Both of them gave quick nods.

"These are my friends, Mason and Theo," Alexa added. "They are engineers too. We work together."

Ivy looked at them with a calm smile."Thank you for coming," she said. "I heard you wanted to talk about the salary?"

Alexa crossed her arms.

"Yes. We want to know how much food or pay we will get for this project. It is a lot of work, and we need to survive too."

Ivy didn't hesitate.

"If you do the job well, I will give you two kilograms of rice every two weeks," she said clearly. "That should be enough to keep you healthy."

The three exchanged quick looks. Mason's eyes lit up, and Theo gave a low whistle.

"That's… actually a good offer," Mason said. "Most people pay far less."

Theo grinned. "Yeah, two kilos every two weeks? I'm in!"

Alexa, who had been quiet, finally gave a small nod. "Alright," she said. "We accept. We'll do our best to complete the model."

"Good," Ivy replied calmly.

Later that evening, Ivy opened the request she had posted online for materials. Sure enough, there were many replies.

She carefully filtered through them, looking for the nearest suppliers and the most reasonable offers.

After some searching, she found one deal that caught her eye. Her lips curved slightly as she read it. "Ten thousand pipes… for only one hundred kilograms of rice," she murmured.

Her heart lifted a little. With this deal, she could start the water project much sooner than she expected.

The next morning, Ivy set off early. She had already contacted the supplier who had offered her the ten thousand pipes. The deal was too good, so she wanted to see it with her own eyes.

When she arrived at the meeting point, a tall man in a dusty jacket waved at her. He looked cautious but not unfriendly.

"You're the one who posted the request?" he asked.

"Yes," Ivy answered calmly. "Are you the seller?"

The man nodded. "Name's Carl. I have the pipes, but I want to make sure you're serious. Ten thousand is no small number."

Ivy looked straight at him. "I am serious. You asked for one hundred kilograms of rice, right?"

Carl scratched the back of his neck.

"Yeah… But I also have other materials. Tanks, valves, and some spare metal sheets. If you want those too, we can talk."

Ivy's eyes brightened a little. "I do want them. How much would you ask?"

Carl thought for a moment.

"For the tanks, maybe fifty kilograms of rice. The valves, another twenty. The sheets, let's say thirty. That's two hundred in total with the pipes."

Ivy tilted her head. "That's a lot," she said softly.

"But let me ask you something. Do you have anyone else who can pay in rice? These days, most people only trade small items like clothes."
