30 Years in Whitebeard’s Crew, I Became Invincible

Chapter 175: Mary Geoise, Not Worth It

"It's actually pretty easy," Miro said.

"Easy, my ass. We almost got discovered just now," Roy kicked him and looked around.

"Strange… the World Government isn't that alert, but the Marines are surprisingly vigilant. We were nearly spotted by a Marine just now. Luckily, I had a trick up my sleeve."

"Big bro, what happened just now?" Miro patted his leg, totally confused.

"Nothing serious. While the Marine was checking us, didn't you notice a Marine officer walking toward us?"

"I saw him, but he turned around and walked away," Miro said, puzzled.

"I used Observation Haki to interfere with him, made him misjudge and go check someone else."

"Huh? Really?"

"Why would I lie to you? And you know what? Observation Haki can be used like a mental attack too. We should really thank that bastard Saturn for that."

Miro immediately became alert, moving more cautiously.

They smoothly boarded the lift and followed Dalton and Doctor Kureha all the way.

When they arrived at Mary Geoise and saw the moving walkways, Dalton was astonished.

"Automatic paths, seriously?"

"They're being pulled by people underneath," Roy said flatly.

"What do you mean?" Dalton asked.

"A bunch of slaves under the stone plates drag them constantly, day and night, tirelessly pushing this road forward."

"..."

Dalton stared at Roy in disbelief.

"To the World Government, slaves are cheaper than machines. They'd rather use slaves than machinery, and it's been like that for over 800 years."

Roy stepped off to the grassy side.

"King Dalton, this way please," a guard pointed toward the moving walkway.

"No, I'll walk on the side," Dalton stood on the grass, already sweating, full of unease.

He had been to a World Summit before, when Wapol had just become king. Dalton came as the head of royal guards.

Back then, Wapol had excitedly said he wanted to build an automatic lift like this back in the Drum Kingdom, to avoid climbing mountains.

Now it all seemed ironic, how many people had died beneath that path?

As they arrived at Pangaea Castle, a crowd had already gathered: the Fish-Man Kingdom, Dressrosa, the Black Drum Kingdom, and Alabasta.

All of them were connected to the Straw Hat Pirates in one way or another, either as allies or adversaries.

Roy and Miro stood behind Dalton. Miro had disguised himself as a big, chubby man in a thick sweater. Roy stood beside him, also disguised with makeup and a sweater.

It was Roy's first time at Mary Geoise. Looking at the majestic castle and everything around, he felt an indescribable sense of history.

'The World Government had built a lot, but it seemed like this place had existed long before them.'

'The Land of the Gods.'

'Once the only habitable nation atop the barren Red Line, it was originally built by the moon people. When they came to this planet, they first encountered Sky Island, then Elbaf, which is why Elbaf has traces of advanced technology; they had early contact with lunar civilization.'

'Back then, Earth was already ruled by humans, and the highly advanced moon people came for resources, leading to war.'

'The "Land of the Gods" was the moon people's world-governing nation.'

'It wasn't just the Void Century that disappeared; history before 800 years ago had a massive gap. That was when the moon people appeared.'

'With 800-year-old tech, they could build robots like Emet, powerful enough to knock down one of the five Elders. If it hadn't deteriorated, it'd be even more dangerous.'

There are many secrets yet to uncover. Coming to Mary Geoise, Roy naturally wanted to see what was truly hidden here.

He listened with interest as the crowd discussed the Straw Hat Pirates.

Wapol had developed a special alloy called "Wapometal", a unique blend that couldn't be made by normal means. Its properties allowed Wapol to have his own kingdom again, in just two years. That's how profitable it was.

Mary Geoise was much larger than Roy had imagined. He originally thought it was just a castle, but it was an entire city, a massive one.

Most of the buildings were white with blue roofs. Mist drifted through the air, giving it a celestial atmosphere. And most importantly, there were many plants here.

The presence of vegetation helped maintain breathable air despite the high altitude.

Not all Celestial Dragons were the same. It seemed like only low-ranking ones wore astronaut-like suits. The Five Elders, the God Knights, and Imu didn't.

They were now in the "Social Plaza," a gathering place for the fifty kings of member nations to mingle and rest.

Though these kings were supposed to be the ones setting global order as part of the World Government, in reality, they looked more like slaves to the Celestial Dragons.

When a giant slave tried to grab Shirahoshi and make her his personal slave, none of these "Kings" even dared to fart in protest.

"Big bro..." Miro took a step forward, eyes filled with rage. Roy held him back with one hand.

Dalton and Kureha turned around, stunned. 'Was this guy actually going to make a move?'

'Was the Whitebeard Pirates' crew really this bold?'

Roy glanced at Miro. If he remembered right, Miro had been a slave since childhood. He became a transvestite only because the person who bought him was a twisted pervert.

That sicko abused him until one day he was killed by pirates during a raid. Miro admired the pirates, but even they rejected him because of what he'd become.

So Miro became an orphan, a transvestite orphan, surviving off scraps, until he met the Whitebeard Pirates.

Whitebeard drove away his abusers and protected him, showing him the first ray of hope. Later, Miro became a member of Division 16.

Unlike Miro, Izo wasn't a pervert or a transvestite by nature. His family had performed Kabuki, and he and his brother only dressed that way to survive.

Originally, Izo used a sword, while his younger brother Kiku used a gun.

Izo helped Miro come out of his trauma, but Miro still held deep hatred for nobles. He would secretly castrate nobles when he had the chance.

Even with Celestial Dragons, he didn't hesitate to risk his life. In his words: "Trading my life for one of theirs is worth it."

Roy had scolded him many times for this mentality.

"Your life is worth more than that garbage. Don't rush. Sometimes it's better to observe… you might find it interesting," Roy said as he held him back.
