A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 61: Fight

The side yard of the villa was a wide area filled with gravel.

Oliver thought it was indeed a suitable place for two superhuman individuals like them to spar. In the city, it would be far too risky—not only could they destroy other people's property, but they might also accidentally kill someone.

Such incidents had happened not once or twice, but far too often.

Oliver and Edward walked to the center of the yard while Rebecca and Ivy watched from the doorway.

As soon as it was just the two of them, Rebecca began chatting with Ivy.

"Oliver, draw your weapon. I have a Tier 2+ Weapon—this might be dangerous for you," Edward said once they reached the center of the yard.

He drew a sword that wasn't particularly long—roughly the length from wrist to palm—with a triangular tip.

Interestingly, when Edward channeled his power into the sword, it generated ten sword shadows that quickly evolved to look exactly like the real sword, moving in sync with it.

They even seemed capable of moving independently.

"Are you sure this is Tier 2+?" asked Oliver.

He felt the sword was more powerful than its grade suggested. After all, his own knife, which was also Tier 2+, didn't have abilities like that.

"That's not the sword's ability—it's mine," Edward replied.

"Alright, I'm going to start now!" he declared as he dashed forward, his movement incredibly fast. It was like a sword cutting through the earth as he charged.

Oliver didn't rush to counterattack; instead, he waited for Edward to approach while releasing his Void Sense to observe his movements.

Though Edward's left eye occasionally glowed, indicating he was conducting detailed analysis, he didn't seem to detect the presence of the Void Sense. In the end, it was something unreal.

As Edward drew closer, Oliver calmly stepped backward.

At first, Edward looked like he was about to mock him for retreating—but then Oliver suddenly appeared right in front of him.

Oliver hadn't even drawn his knife. He simply punched the man's abdomen, and Edward couldn't dodge it.

BANG!

His fist struck Edward's stomach hard, sending him flying due to the force behind the blow, which exceeded Oliver's level thanks to his current body mass.

Edward's eyes widened, but he had already prepared a counterattack.

The sword shadows surrounding him swarmed Oliver from all directions.

In response, Oliver transformed his body into void, not even bothering to dodge the incoming swords. After all, he could now turn his entire body into void.

Xiu! Xiu! Xiu!

The sword shadows, which appeared completely real, all struck his body at once—but instead of slicing through, they entered his body and vanished without piercing him, much like someone stepping into a portal.

"You—?" Edward's eyes showed disbelief just before he hit the ground.

"I'm afraid you're not a match for me. I didn't even dare strike you with my void power—it might have erased you from existence instantly," said Oliver.

Cough!

Edward coughed as he got to his feet, holding his stomach with a serious expression.

"Don't think that was my true power," he said.

As he said that, Oliver was shocked to see ten identical versions of Edward appear beside him. Each held the same sword, and even their auras were vivid, as if they were truly alive.

Whoosh! Whoosh!

The ten figures simultaneously charged at Oliver while the real Edward remained standing still.

They surrounded him and began attacking from every direction. Oliver even noticed that their swords generated the same sword shadows Edward's had.

"I didn't expect an Awakener to have this kind of ability," said Oliver as he stared at the real Edward.

"That's why I'm not just any Awakener," replied one of the clones instead of the original Edward.

"It is an impressive ability, but if you want to fight me, you really need to improve your combat skills," said Oliver.

He said this because, based on his observation, Edward's fighting style was crude—more like someone who didn't know how to fight trying to brawl.

He just happened to have great power and the ability to create ten clones of himself and whatever he held.

Oliver's eyes sharpened, and his knife appeared in his hand. He pulled in a massive amount of void particles to coat it—so much that it surpassed the energy stored in his Spiritual Space. He was now tapping into his reserves.

Shua!

He spun his body and slashed his knife, which transformed into a massive ring of void particles that continued to expand rapidly.

The ten Edward clones, who had kept charging forward, were all struck by the void ring and sliced cleanly in half, including their swords.

The effect was even more intense—the space itself was split by the void ring due to its incredibly sharp design.

Fortunately, the attack had been unleashed in the center of the spacious yard.

Edward panted heavily as he watched the scene, nearly rubbing his eyes in disbelief while Oliver quickly retracted all the void particles to prevent any further destruction.

He looked at Edward and said, "Do you have any other abilities?"

"No, I don't think there's any point in using them," Edward replied, shaking his head.

Of course, he had other powers—but he knew the outcome would be the same.

He took several deep breaths before smiling again.

"Oliver, I didn't expect you to be this strong. If you're this powerful, who could possibly stand against you?" he said.

"You wouldn't have lost so quickly if you hadn't rushed in recklessly. Edward, your lack of combat skills is painfully obvious." Rebecca approached and commented, though her gaze lingered on the ground below, still showing signs of damage from Oliver's power.

The destruction appeared neat, not like something was broken—but rather erased.

"At first, I thought this so-called void power was just something exaggerated—like a flashy technique that supposedly erased anything effortlessly. But it turns out it's real," she added.

"Of course it's real. That's why this country bumpkin got accepted as the direct disciple of the strongest Cultivator in the country," replied Oliver.

Naturally, the way he said it made Rebecca roll her eyes—but she acted like nothing was wrong.

"Let's head back inside. Oliver, don't leave just yet. I've already instructed the chefs to prepare lunch—I hope you'll join us," she said, abruptly changing the topic.

"Oliver, don't say no!" Edward added, clearly wanting to talk more with him.

"Well..." Oliver shrugged and followed them back into the villa.

He didn't feel any urge to leave just yet.
