A Cultivator in the World Dominated By Awakeners

Chapter 60: Pagoda

Edward looked surprised to see the two cards in front of Oliver and Ivy.

He easily guessed what had happened.

"Oliver, Ivy, just keep those cards, think of them as being from me," said Edward.

Oliver didn't really pay attention to his words because he was more interested in the item Edward brought—a pitch-black miniature pagoda that seemed to be made from stacked bricks.

It had doors and windows on each floor and appeared to have fifteen stories.

Even though it was just a miniature, it didn't look like one at all. Instead, it truly resembled a real building that had somehow been shrunk.

Of course, what caught his interest wasn't the pagoda's appearance, but the strong instinct telling him that this was something extremely valuable for a Cultivator.

"Edward, can I hold it?" asked Oliver.

"Go ahead..." Edward handed the pagoda to him.

When he held it, Oliver found it was quite heavy—felt like solid steel—yet it was actually stone and still easy for him to lift.

He couldn't find anything just by looking at it, so he examined it with his Void Sense, spreading his Void Sense into the gaps of the pagoda.

"What?"

He was stunned, because when his Void Sense tried to enter, it was blocked by an invisible and undetectable force.

His Void Sense could only penetrate slightly into the gaps of the pagoda.

"Where did you find it, Edward?" asked Oliver.

"You probably won't believe it, but I found it inside the stomach of the first monster I ever killed—a cow," Edward replied, chuckling.

"Do cows also eat rocks?" Oliver wondered with a strange expression.

"It really can't be explained. When I found it, I didn't feel anything, and my left eye didn't see anything either. I only realized how incredible it was when I put it into my Storage Ring. Do you know what happened? My high-grade Storage Ring shattered and broke apart, and everything inside it flew out. When a Cultivator saw it, they wanted to examine it, so I knew Cultivators could sense how special it was," explained Edward.

"Did you find anything?" he asked after saying all that.

"I just feel it's extraordinary, but I can't determine what it is. Maybe I need to research it."

As he said that, Oliver couldn't help but glance at Edward curiously.

He wondered whether Edward would give it to him.

After all, it was a highly valuable item. Edward could easily sell it for a high price to other Cultivators. Bringing it out just to show it to Oliver was one thing, but letting him take it was another matter.

"Ehmm..." Edward cleared his throat.

"Oliver, you can come anytime to study it. I'll give you my pilot's number so they can pick you up. Oh, right, we haven't exchanged phone numbers yet—let's do that now," he said.

As it turned out, he indeed wasn't willing to let Oliver take the pagoda, but Oliver was still grateful that Edward allowed him to examine it whenever he wanted.

After that, they exchanged phone numbers.

"Oliver, let's exchange phone numbers too," said Rebecca after he and Edward finished.

Hearing that, not only did Oliver give her a strange look, but Edward did as well.

Although their first meeting had started off poorly, this wasn't something he needed to reject, so Oliver gave her his number.

Then, Rebecca also asked Ivy for her number.

She seemed serious about wanting to be friends with her.

At least now, the previously awkward atmosphere had become a bit more relaxed.

Oliver began drinking the milk coffee that Rebecca had made while continuing to observe the pagoda.

He gave no response or praise when Rebecca asked if the coffee tasted good.

"Have you ever shown it to my teacher?" Oliver asked Edward.

If it was Evylin, with her power, she might be able to find something quickly.

"No, I'm afraid she'll rob me if I show it to her," Edward replied.

"I don't think my teacher would rob a weak junior," said Oliver, laughing.

"You can't judge from her attitude. It's true she's never robbed me, but did you know she once robbed my father, who's her nephew? Sadly, my father is a weak Cultivator who couldn't fight back," Edward said with a sigh.

Oliver could only roll his eyes at that.

So, his teacher was that fierce.

"Mm..." Oliver, who kept observing the pagoda, was astonished.

His Void Sense, which had been trying to enter the pagoda, was suddenly pulled in—but not by his own power. Something from within the first floor of the pagoda had drawn his Void Sense inside.

What he saw then was a dark space with an extremely vast landmass.

He could only be stunned because once his Void Sense entered that space, it expanded many times over—so much that even he couldn't estimate its actual size.

An expression of awe appeared on his face because he saw a pair of feet whose size defied imagination—too enormous for him to even comprehend, and he couldn't determine their scale due to his lack of strength.

The two feet didn't even appear to be cut off, but they had already reached the highest part of that space.

A moment later, his Void Sense was suddenly pushed out and could no longer enter.

Even so, the vision remained vivid in his memory.

"Oliver, what is it?" Edward asked, noticing the change in his expression.

Oliver couldn't answer immediately—he was still wondering what he had just seen and what had drawn his Void Sense into the pagoda.

Of course, he had some speculation, but he felt a bit afraid when he thought about it.

Unconsciously, he shook his head.

"I think I was a bit distracted," he said, making an excuse.

Even he was a bit scared to think about it, so of course, he wouldn't talk about it with others.

Besides, he wondered if the pagoda could provide some benefit in terms of increasing strength. It didn't seem like something that would help with cultivation.

'I can only call this one of the mysteries of the Chaotic World,' he thought.

"By the way, Edward, how about we try sparring now?" Oliver asked, changing the subject.

Naturally, Edward and the others realized he was hiding something.

But they couldn't force him to talk, and the duel was something Edward had been looking forward to. He looked delighted to hear it.

"Of course, let's go to the side yard," he said, standing up.

Oliver quickly stood as well, followed by Ivy and then Rebecca.

The latter said, "Remember to control yourselves—don't fight endlessly. Your powers, especially when unleashed on Earth, could cause a lot of damage!"

"I know, don't worry," Edward replied.

Then he took a step forward.
