Chapter 69: Prime Minister
Throughout the journey, Oliver spent his time playing games on his phone. He sometimes didn't even respond when Rebecca spoke to him.
By playing, time at least felt like it passed quickly.
Almost two hours went by, and Rebecca steered the car off the highway, entering a regular road that was so quiet there wasn't a single sign of anyone around.
Rebecca followed the road for a bit before stopping.
"We'll continue on foot. We're very close," she said in a low voice.
Oliver nodded and got out of the sports car first.
When Rebecca got out, she immediately stored the car into her Storage Ring.
At the same time, she took something out—two black cloaks and two black masks.
She handed one cloak and one mask to Oliver.
Oliver could tell that these weren't just ordinary cloak and mask. The materials were clearly from the Chaotic World, capable of concealing aura even if it was released.
Additionally, the cloak and mask seemed to be able to change color, blending into the surrounding environment.
Without hesitation, these were clearly very expensive items.
Oliver put on the cloak and mask with ease. With the hood covering his head, he was practically invisible.
Standing on a dark road, he seemed to vanish all of a sudden.
Rebecca put on her cloak more slowly, having some trouble because she was wearing a dress.
"You should've dressed casually, like in pants and a shirt. We're not heading to a party," said Oliver.
Rebecca, who usually responded to his remarks, stayed silent this time, focusing on putting on the cloak until it fit properly on her body.
She pulled up her hood and then wore her mask.
"Let's go," she said.
Oliver then followed behind her.
The path they took cut between two small hills.
It was an extremely dark area with no light at all.
Fortunately, his eyes allowed him to see clearly in the dark.
When they finally passed through the area, Oliver saw a farming village in a wide valley, split by a large river that divided the village into two areas.
There was a long wooden bridge hanging between the two riverbanks.
"This is the Prime Minister's hometown—or more precisely, his mother's hometown," Rebecca said.
"Did he inherit the artifact from his mother?" asked Oliver.
"Yes, but no one knows where they originally got the artifact. You see the largest house? That's the Prime Minister's house. The artifact is located inside," Rebecca explained.
Indeed, Oliver saw a very large house that didn't quite fit in with the rest of the village.
All the lights were off, giving the impression that no one lived there.
"Let's go!"
Rebecca led the way, but not through the main road since villagers were occasionally still out. Instead, they passed through the farmland behind the villagers' homes.
They were still able to walk easily using their powers.
In no time, they arrived behind the Prime Minister's house.
However, the house had very few doors, and the back had none at all.
"He won't notice if I make a hole in his house, right?" asked Oliver.
"Don't worry, he's not always awake because his mind is focused on controlling all his manifestations. As far as I know, his real body sleeps most of the time. At most, he'll only wake up after we enter his artifact, but that's okay because he's very weak," replied Rebecca.
Oliver nodded. He only needed a few void particles to create a hole in the back of the house.
When he entered, he found himself in the kitchen.
There was also a staircase leading to the basement.
"It should be in the basement," said Rebecca.
Oliver quickly went down the stairs until he arrived at a massive steel door.
No one would consider breaking through that door without causing a huge explosion. However, Oliver simply used void particles, and the door was easily erased—as if a chalk mark on a board had been wiped clean.
Even though he couldn't see Rebecca's face, Oliver knew she must've been impressed by his power.
Behind the door was a very spacious basement, and it wasn't dark, as there was a large light above illuminating the entire room.
In the middle of the basement was a giant black orb. Its height alone was about five times his own.
"Is the artifact really this big?" asked Oliver, surprised by the size of the black orb.
This should've been the artifact Miya mentioned, but she hadn't said it was this huge.
"Of course. It's this big because it hides the original space. Real space can't be compressed down to something like a ring. This is already the minimal size," Rebecca answered.
"Once you create a hole in the artifact, we'll see the dimension wall. We can enter through it directly," she added.
"But don't worry—the artifact has self-repair abilities. The hole you create will close quickly, so we have to enter fast."
Oliver nodded, then walked over to the artifact.
Just looking at it, he could tell how hard it was.
He released a large number of void particles to ensure things went smoothly.
The void particles he released formed a sphere as well, though not as large as the black orb.
When the void sphere touched the black orb, a hole immediately formed.
Apparently, the black orb was rather thin—Oliver only had to puncture it slightly before he saw the black-and-white dimensional orb inside.
He wasn't unfamiliar with this kind of orb. His Observation Ring also had something similar, though not nearly this size.
Of course, the size of the dimension orb didn't determine the interior space since in the real world, dimensional orbs could be compressed.
But this one seemed to also contain time power, unlike the frozen space inside his Observation Ring.
Without time power, space remains frozen.
"Quick, get in!" Rebecca said and stepped into the dimensional orb first.
Oliver didn't want her to go in first, so he used his Void Step to move faster.
He felt like he passed through a wall of water briefly, then appeared in a completely different world.
It was a grassland, not too large—about the size of a soccer field—with a wooden cabin in the center.
Light and air from the outside flowed into this land, so Oliver could breathe like he was in the real world.
It was like its own world, hence why it was called an Independent World—but this was more than just that.
But Oliver frowned when he arrived, because he saw many human skulls scattered across the grass.
Click!
Suddenly, a window in the cabin opened, and someone peeked outside.
Oliver could only be stunned when he saw the person.
The Prime Minister he often saw on TV and the internet. Their appearance was exactly the same.
The only difference was that this one wore a black cloak and looked like he hadn't bathed in a long time, his hair visibly messy.
