A Detective's Unfortunate Adventure in Another World

Chapter 1: The Conflict Between the Eldra Tribe and the Kurata Tribe (I)

Meteor City, March 14th, 64 ASE.

"GIVE UP, KURATA TRIBES!" A man shouted in front of a small fortress, announcing his presence with his commanding voice. "YOU HAVE BEEN SURROUNDED! SURRENDER YOURSELF, AND YOU WILL LIVE TO SEE THE NEXT SUNRISE!" Behind the man stood his troops, waiting to get commanded to attack.

Even though the man didn't know what happened behind the fortress, he knew his warning alone was enough to make everyone there squirm in fear. A moment later, though, a shout that the man noticed coming from the Kurata Tribe's leader aired from the other side of the fortress as a reply. "NEVER, SON OF ELDRA! OUR KURATA TRIBE IS HERE TO GUARD THE WEST SIDE FROM ANY THREAT TO THE CITY, AND WE WILL BE HERE UNTIL WE DIE! YOU SHOULD'VE REMEMBERED YOUR OATH TOWARD OUR LORD TOO!"

The man didn't know what was the message that Kurata Tribe's leader wanted to say here. Was it to remind him about his duty? To guilt-trip him to stop the attack? Or is there any hidden motive behind it?

Unfortunately, whatever purpose Kurata Tribe's leader had was useless since his reply only enraged the man more.

"HOW DARE YOU TO MENTION OUR LORD, SHIRA!" The man's roar was filled with rage. "IF ANYTHING, IT IS YOU WHO BETRAY HIS TRUST! YOUR MEN POISONED AND KILLED MY MEN IN COLD BLOOD!"

"I SAID IT AGAIN THAT WE DIDN'T DO THAT!"

"OH, SHUT UP! I HAVE ENOUGH!" The man took a deep breath before turning around at the troops behind him. "MY BROTHER, THIS IS IT! IT IS OUR TIME TO MAKE ALL THE KILLERS INSIDE TO PAY FOR OUR PEOPLE'S BLOOD! DON'T HESITATE, ATTACK WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH! BLOOD WILL BE PAID FOR BLOOD TODAY! FOR ELDRA PEOPLE!"

"FOR ELDRA PEOPLE!"

Meanwhile, inside the fortress…

"Those muscle brains, I swear, they are really the stupidest bunch of people in the world!" Shira Kurata, the leader of the Kurata tribe moaned weakly when he heard the war cry from the Eldra tribe echoed outside of the fortress. "Don't they know that with them attacking us today, it would leave a big hole in the west side of our city?!"

"I don't think they care too much about it, Master Shira." A man with similar white hair as Shira but a lot younger than his leader said wryly. "You know how they feel toward us, so no matter what you said, there is no way they would let us go." Unfortunately, Shira knew that his protegee was correct.

While both Kurata and Eldra were the warrior tribes that were tasked by the last mayor of this city to guard the west side from the outsider's attack, Eldra was filled with proud warriors who always felt they were the best. They were so offended by the fact that they had to share the duty with the tribe they saw as a lesser being that they were committed to giving the people from the Kurata tribe troubles whenever they could. Honestly, Shira couldn't remember how many times he was called by the mayor to resolve the incident between his people and those from the Eldra tribe.

Their atrocity kept getting worse when the city mayor suddenly disappeared from out of nowhere. Shira could still remember the panic that rose when the incident happened. It only took a day for the ordinary citizens of Meteor City to leave the city, knowing that all the stability this city offered came from the mayor. True to their thought, though, a day after that, the three kingdoms surrounding the city started to send their spy over the city and started whatever operation they wanted without anyone able to stop them.

But back to Eldra's atrocity topic, after the mayor disappeared, all the tribes living in the city worked together to investigate this matter. Well… All, but the Eldra tribe. They thought the mayor's disappearance gave them a chance to sit at the top of the hierarchy in this city, and they tried to do that by attacking most of the tribes in the city to assert their dominance.

However, things changed when a week ago, about 22 of the Eldra warriors reportedly died mysteriously, and while there was no sign of battle in the place where they died, all the 22 warriors had the painful look that told everyone they didn't die peacefully. The thought of his men dying in torture didn't sit quite well in the Eldra Tribe's leader – Kali's stomach. He was furious, and unfortunately, the first tribe he pointed his finger at was the Kurata tribe.

It wasn't without a reason why Kali thought it was anyone from the Kurata tribe who was the victim of the incident. After all, it was them who lived closest to the Eldra tribe, and it was quite convenient for anyone in the tribe to sneak into the Eldra tribe secretly to assassinate those 22 people in silence and go back without anyone noticing.

Except… It wasn't that easy.

In his rage, Kali forgot that killing 22 people simultaneously was an impossible task, especially since the victims didn't even fight it. Also, even if it was possible, there was no way any of the Kurata people managed to do that. After all, they were the nature magic specialist who would never be able to do that kind of job silently.

Unfortunately, Kali didn't care about it. Since he decided that it was the Kurata tribe who was the culprit behind this incident, he decided to march his neighbor while bringing about 100 of his men to attack Kurata's fortress, and that was what happened right now.

BOOOM!

"Oh, shit! Master Shira, the first wall has already gone! Master Kali used 70 percent of his strength to destroy it, and now most of his men are about to enter our second wall in three minutes!" A young man with the same white hair but with a small body reported quickly, his face sweating as he tried to maintain his concentration in defending the wall.

"Shit! Anyone with the earth magic, come here! Help our brother defend the wall! Also, get ready to attack! We will not go down without a fight!"

"YEAH!"

After spouting the encouragement to his men, Shira turned to his protegee and asked, "What about the other tribes? Is there any news about them?"

"No, Master. They sympathize with us but are afraid they cannot do anything about this." The younger man bit his lips nervously.

"Oh, what a load of bullshit!" Shira roared, slamming the desk. "How could they be so cowardly to stop this nonsense?! Is this their real face since the beginning?" However, before he or his protegee could say anything, the last wall separated the tribe and the outside world suddenly crumbled, followed by the sound of an explosion there.

BOOOM!

And when they turned their attention, those two could feel blood drained from their body as their face went pale at the sight of Kali Eldra looking at them ferally. "Now, I finally got you two…"
