Chapter 2: The Conflict Between the Eldra Tribe and the Kurata Tribe (II)
"SHIT! Everyone, take a cover! Leave him to me!" Shira jumped from his spot and grabbed his weapon, a long spear with him immediately. "Move before you suffer from the collateral damage! Protect yourself!" He instructed all the members of his tribe quickly.
Kali Eldra just laughed cruelly when he saw the scene in front of him. "There is no use to hide your ass, Shira! We have already besieged this fortress! Surrender, and we will give you a noble death!"
Shira tensed when he saw almost 100 of the Eldra tribe's warriors surrounding them, all wearing the imperial gold armor the tribe was proud of. The situation turned from bad to worse for the Kurata tribe. After all, even if they didn't want to admit it, they knew the Eldra tribe was the best combatant tribe in the city while they themselves were always the long-range attackers with their nature magic. To get exposed like this was definitely the worst situation possible Shira could think of.
"Now that the cat finally finds the mouse, what do you think will happen?" The grin formed on Kali's face was followed by his men as all of them eyed the members of the Kurata tribe like they were prey.
"What the hell do you want to accomplish here, Kali?!" Shira gritted his teeth, trying to stale more times for his people. Also, even if it was impossible, he hoped to knock some sense in the man he called brother in the past. "Do our time protecting the west side of this city together mean nothing to you?! Does our lord's words for us to fight together mean nothing to you?!"
For a moment, silence befell among them as it was clear his words reached Kali. The tension was still there, though, and it only got worse when Kali roared furiously, "HOW DARE YOU TO ACCUSE ME OF SOMETHING LIKE THAT WHEN IT IS CLEAR ONE OF YOUR MEN KILLED MINE?!"
"And I tell you not a single one of mine killed yours!" Shira roared back. "Why do you insist that we are the culprit?!"
"Oh, I don't know, maybe, because I am not that stupid?" Kali sneered. "I mean, while we are not as smart as you, us Eldra tribe know how to think, you know? After all, who is the closest tribe from us that has the chance to sneak through our base, smart enough to kill 22 men cold-bloodedly in one night, and get away with it?"
Damn, when Kali said it like that, Shira had to admit that he would be suspicious too. While he would still deny the accusation since no one from his tribe would gain anything from killing Eldra's men, the logic behind Shira's reasoning was clear.
"Oh, well, maybe we should talk less and do more action here!" Kali cracked his neck to loosen up the tension while grinning widely. "Don't worry, Shira, we are just here for vengeance, and I will make sure your people will be treated correctly. Just die in peace, okay?"
"That doesn't make me feel better!"
"And I don't try to do that!"
CLANK!
Shira gritted his teeth as he felt the impact of the collision between his spear and Kali's gauntlet. While it usually would never create anything more than a loud sound, if the magical energy from Kali was added, the collision here was enough to create a small explosion that was enough to blast away anyone not strong enough physically or magically, and its effect could be felt even by people on the radius of 2 miles from the battlefield.
"Ho… Not bad for a scrawny person like you… But, can you still hold it if I do this?" After that, the gauntlet in Kali's hand suddenly glowed, and Shira widened his eyes when he knew about Kali's intention. 'Shit! He concentrates most of his magic in that gauntlet and is about to explode it straight into my face! I need to get away quick!'
BOOOM!
For a moment, silence befell on the battlefield as all eyes were on the battle of two leaders. Everyone was worried that the explosion would knock out their leader, which would end the battle instantly. As the dust was finally gone, they all sighed in relief when the two leaders of both tribes were still standing even though one of them looked a bit worn off.
"Not bad, Scrawny." Kali hummed, playing around with his gauntlet as if he didn't just do anything wrong here. "In the last second before my magic explodes, you suddenly ducked and sent a high kick to redirect my hand and let it explode in the air, which reduce the impact you feel right now. Even though you are always a smartass, I have to admit your battle instinct is top-notch. You will be a good warrior." Praised the Eldra tribe's leader.
"Thanks…" Shira panted, kneeling on the ground as he still felt the impact of Kali's explosion. Even though Kali was a certified asshole and a stupid person too, Shira had to admit that the man was superior in a close combat fight, and he knew all of the people from Eldra were always honest and proudful of anything battle related, so the praise from Kali should be from genuine here. "Is there any way we stop this conflict?" He said with a hopeful tone.
"Ha! No way, Scrawny!" Kali snorted, cracking his neck once again. "If anything, I will add more fire in my next attack! Be prepared!" Just like before, the gauntlet in his hand glowed once again, and Shira jumped backward immediately to make space while also preparing to counterattack.
However, before they both took any action, a strange hole suddenly opened up in the sky. Even though they both were in a hostile relationship, the two leaders of the tribes jumped instinctively, shoulders facing each other while they stared at the hole warily. At this time, the instinct they honed after so many years of fighting with each other kicked in as they were ready to fight anyone who dared to threaten this city.
However, the threat they were waiting for didn't come. Instead, the next thing they knew, someone suddenly tumbled out of the hole, crashing through the battlefield with an awkward fall that made some of the warriors there wince unconsciously.
BRUGH!
"Ouch! What the hell?! Where the fuck am I right now?!"
