A New Life in Fairy Tail

Chapter 46: New Clothes

Chapter 46: New Clothes

After listening to Noah's report, Makarov thought for a moment. "The matter of the Magic Development Bureau is still under investigation, but the director, Brain, has not been found. A warrant has been issued for his arrest. But with his level of strength, it will be very difficult to capture him."

"I'll keep an eye out. If I find him, I'll be sure to bring him back alive."

Makarov nodded, then continued, "You subjugated Deliora. Should we report this to the Magic Council? You're so young; I'm afraid some people might get the wrong idea about you." Makarov was concerned that Noah's success in defeating such a dangerous demon at his age would attract negative attention and cause a lot of trouble, even if they weren't afraid.

"It doesn't matter. I don't plan on going out for a while anyway. This battle gave me a lot of new ideas, and I need time to process them. Plus, I want to learn about shaping magic from Ur, so I won't have time to go out. If those people have any bad ideas, they'll just have to keep them to themselves. By the time I go out again, my strength won't be what it is now."

Noah told Makarov his plans. Seeing his confident and spirited expression, Makarov felt a great sense of relief.

"Then I'll report it to the Magic Council. With an achievement and strength like this, you might even be chosen as one of the Ten Wizard Saints."

"That's probably impossible. You're already a Wizard Saint, Gramps. It's very unlikely the Council would choose another one from the same guild; they have to consider balance. Besides, I'm too young. If I were chosen, a lot of people would be resentful."

"That's also true. If Laxus hears about this achievement of yours, I'm afraid he'll start training himself to death again."

"I don't want that either. I'll just have to keep an eye on him and make sure he doesn't overdo it and injure himself. By the way, Gramps, if you have time, you should talk to Laxus more. He has me as a goal now, so he's focused for the time being. But before, he was very bothered by people always calling him 'Makarov's grandson.' It was because no one saw all the hard work he was putting in; they only saw him as your grandson. It caused him a lot of frustration and resentment. I hope you can talk to him more. This is something only you can resolve. At most, I can only mention it from the side. If it goes on for too long, I'm afraid Laxus might go down a dead-end path."

Hearing this, Makarov's expression became much more serious. He nodded. "I'll find time to talk with him. I had no idea he was struggling with that. Noah, thank you for telling me."

Noah waved his hand. "Laxus is my friend, too. I don't want anything to happen to him. Well, Gramps, I'll be heading back now."

"Go on, then."

After saying goodbye to Makarov, Noah returned home. He didn't start training. The fight with Deliora hadn't been physically exhausting, but it had been mentally draining. So, he took out a magic book and began to read as a way to relax.

When the sun began to set, Ur returned with the group. Simon was already back and was helping Noah prepare dinner. Seeing this, Ur quickly put down the things she was carrying and came over to help. Erza and Kagura joined in as well. Gray, Lyon, and Ultear had no cooking experience, so they could only help by setting the table.

Soon, dinner was ready, and everyone helped bring the dishes to the table. They all ate very happily. Ultear, who had never eaten a meal with so many people before, had a huge smile on her face the whole time.

After dinner, Ur and the others began to unpack the things they had bought that afternoon. Everyone who went had bought a lot of new clothes. Erza and Kagura had also picked out a few new outfits for Noah and Simon. They egged Noah on to try his on. Unable to refuse, he took the clothes and went into his room to change.

When he walked out, all the girls' eyes lit up.

Noah's still-childish face was handsome and gentle, with a head of thick, short black hair. His black and white eyes were clean and pure, as if they had never seen a speck of dust. A constant smile played on his lips, as bright as the sun. His well-proportioned body looked lean in clothes. He was wearing a new black trench coat over a white shirt, with black pants below, giving off an air of calm, aristocratic elegance.

"So, how is it?" Noah asked, a little self-consciously. "I'm not very good at matching clothes."

"You look so handsome, Big Brother Noah!" Erza gave him a thumbs-up. The other girls all nodded in agreement, their eyes sparkling as they stared at him.

Noah was so embarrassed by all the staring that he wanted to go back inside and change, but the girls stopped him. He couldn't fight back and had no choice but to keep wearing the new clothes.

The other boys had also bought new clothes, and Ur had them all try them on. Gray and Lyon were handsome young boys, and Simon was no slouch either. They all looked very cute and dashing in their new outfits.

The girls also changed into their new clothes, each one looking playful, cute, and full of youthful energy. The boys' eyes all lit up.

"You all look so beautiful and cute!" Noah praised.

Just then, Ur chimed in. "So who's the prettiest and cutest?"

The girls' heads all snapped in his direction, their eyes locked on him. A cold sweat instantly broke out on Noah's back. Ur is trying to get me killed! he thought.

Ur looked like she was enjoying the show. "Everyone wants to know who you think is the prettiest and cutest right now. Don't avoid the question."

Everyone nodded, especially the boys, who were all too happy to stir up trouble.

Noah wiped the cold sweat from his forehead, then drew out his words. "If you're asking who's the prettiest and cutest... well, the answer is obviously—me!"

He then struck a narcissistic pose. Everyone groaned in disdain. Noah then said with a sincere expression, "I honestly don't know who is the prettiest and cutest, because you are all beautiful and cute. I can't possibly make a judgment. To choose any one of you would be irresponsible to the others, so I can't choose."

They say sincere feelings are the most moving. Seeing the honest look in Noah's eyes as he spoke, the girls all blushed and turned their heads away, unable to look at him, and didn't press the issue any further. The others looked at each other, and the other boys were all thinking, I've learned a useless lesson.

Seeing this, Ur said, "Since that's settled, everyone take your things back to your rooms and get ready for a bath."

Noah breathed a sigh of relief and also took the clothes they had bought for him back to his room.

After everything was put away, the girls went to take a bath in Noah's large bathhouse first, with the boys to follow. While they were waiting, Lyon and Gray walked over to Noah.

"How did you get so strong?" they asked. "We want to be that strong too."
