Chapter 5: Chapter nine and ten

Chapter 9: The Hunt for the 100 Divine Items

---

Months After the War

It had been two months since the battle that shook the very foundation of the world. The scars remained—not just in the cities but in the minds of those who fought. Heroes and villains alike had crossed a line, uniting against an unimaginable threat, and now they stood forever changed.

But the world never stood still.

New missions had begun, whispered into the minds of the strong and the ambitious. And this time, the stakes were different.

A new decree from Shavalyoth had spread across the world.

"One hundred Divine Items have been scattered across the Earth. Find them, and their power is yours. Hold more than one, and the rewards shall increase. But know this—each item can only be used five times before it is lost to eternity."

The race began immediately.

Some sought power.

Some sought to keep it from others.

Some just wanted to survive.

But all of them chased the 100 Divine Items.

---

The First to Move

Gotham City

Batman moved first.

He had no choice.

Gotham was a breeding ground for chaos, and if even one of these Divine Items landed in the hands of the wrong person, the entire city could fall into ruin.

Through gritted determination, he tracked rumors—a golden dagger that granted supernatural agility was said to be in the possession of a rising gang.

The Batmobile roared through the night as he closed in on their hideout. A warehouse near the docks.

Through the skylight, he saw them—at least twenty men, and their leader, a masked assassin, flipping the dagger effortlessly in his hand.

Then—he moved.

The skylight shattered as he descended, using the element of surprise to strike fast.

A flashbang hit the floor, blinding half the gang. By the time they recovered, four men were already down.

The masked leader snarled and lunged, dagger in hand.

It moved unnaturally fast, forcing Batman to react on instinct alone.

The blade barely missed him. A counterstrike—**a gauntlet to the ribs—**but the man twisted midair, landing effortlessly.

Batman narrowed his eyes.

"That dagger… it enhances speed."

The assassin smirked. "And you won't live long enough to see what else it can do."

The fight was on.

Minutes later, Batman emerged victorious, the Divine Dagger in his grasp.

His first thought? This is too dangerous to leave in anyone's hands.

His second thought? How many of these have already been claimed?

Metropolis – Superman's Trial

Far above the clouds, Superman heard the distress call.

Something had been unearthed in the city's ruins—a golden ring, glowing with divine energy.

As he arrived, he saw mercenaries attempting to take it.

A single word from them confirmed his fears.

"With this ring, no one—not even Superman—can stop us."

Superman landed, his cape billowing as he crossed his arms.

"I'd rethink that statement."

They attacked.

Bullets ricocheted harmlessly off his chest.

Superman didn't even move as they emptied their magazines.

Then, he did move.

In the blink of an eye, the entire gang lay unconscious, their weapons shattered.

Superman picked up the ring and examined it.

"What is your power?"

The moment he touched it, a pulse ran through him.

And suddenly—he saw the future.

Only for a second.

But it was enough.

He saw a battle yet to come.

He saw heroes and villains, not fighting each other, but standing against something else.

And he saw a figure in the distance, watching.

Shavalyoth.

Superman clenched the ring in his fist. "This isn't over."

---

The Villains' Game

It wasn't just heroes.

The villains moved, too.

Lex Luthor had already claimed one of the Divine Items—a crystal tablet that granted hyper-intelligence for five minutes per use.

Five uses.

He had no intention of wasting a single one.

Across the world, others followed.

The Joker had gotten his hands on something. No one knew what—only that his crimes had become unpredictable, even for him.

Black Adam sought out items to rival the gods themselves.

Deathstroke had taken three already, growing even more dangerous.

And then there was Darkseid.

On Apokolips, he watched. He knew these items would shift the balance of power.

And when the time was right, he would act.

---

The Race Continues

As weeks passed, the world shifted.

Some items were claimed.

Some were fought over.

Some remained hidden, waiting for the right hands.

But the message was clear.

Power was on the move.

And whether hero or villain, the game continued.

Shavalyoth watched, amused.

The pieces were moving again.

And soon, they would all realize—this was only the beginning.

Chapter 10: Clash of Ideals and Chaos Unleashed

The world had become a battleground. The race for Divine Items had escalated into full-blown conflict.

No one was exempt.

Heroes clashed with antiheroes.

Villains betrayed each other.

And some battles blurred the lines of morality itself.

Across the globe, war erupted in the shadows and the open alike.

First Battle: Hero vs. Antihero

Nightwing vs. Red Hood – Gotham's Bloodstained Rooftops

The cold Gotham air smelled of smoke and gunpowder. The city's underbelly had erupted into chaos—gangs were fighting over a newly found Divine Item rumored to grant enhanced precision and reaction speed.

Nightwing had come to put a stop to it.

But so had Red Hood.

And their approaches were very different.

Nightwing stood at the edge of the rooftop, watching as Red Hood took down a gang with brutal efficiency. Headshots, cracked ribs, broken arms—Jason wasn't pulling his punches.

"Jason," Nightwing called out.

Red Hood reloaded his pistols without looking up. "Let me guess—'Don't kill them, Jason. We're better than this.'"

"You know exactly what I'm gonna say."

"Yeah, and I'm gonna tell you the same thing I always do," Red Hood growled, turning. "Gotham doesn't need mercy—it needs results."

"You're fighting for the same thing these scumbags are—power."

"You really think I'm gonna let them have a Divine Item?" Jason scoffed. "They'll use it to kill innocent people. If I take it, at least it'll be used for something useful."

Nightwing shook his head. "Not happening."

Jason smirked. "Then try and stop me."

The fight began.

Jason fired first, but Nightwing had already anticipated it. He flipped over the gunfire, closing the distance, and swung his escrima sticks.

Jason dodged, countering with a powerful elbow strike to Nightwing's ribs. Dick grunted but turned the momentum into a roundhouse kick, sending Jason stumbling back.

Jason snarled, pulling a knife and slashing—a near miss, but he wasn't done. He grabbed a flashbang from his belt and detonated it in close range.

The explosion blinded Nightwing for a second—long enough for Jason to tackle him off the rooftop.

They crashed into a fire escape below, both rolling to their feet.

Nightwing's vision returned just in time to see Jason charging.

A brutal exchange of blows followed—escrima sticks clashing against Jason's reinforced armor. Every hit was meant to break bone.

Finally, Jason ducked low and drove a knee into Nightwing's gut, sending him sprawling.

"You can't win this," Jason said, panting. "I don't hold back."

Nightwing smirked, wiping blood from his lip. "Neither do I."

He clicked a button on his gauntlet—EMP blast.

Jason's helmet systems shorted out, blinding him for just a moment. That was all Nightwing needed.

A well-placed escrima strike to the back of the head, and Jason dropped unconscious.

Nightwing took the Divine Item, securing it.

"This isn't over," he muttered, hauling Jason onto his back before disappearing into the night.

Second Battle: Villains vs. Villains

Deathstroke vs. Bane – The Streets of Santa Prisca

The island of Santa Prisca was home to one of the most powerful Divine Items yet discovered—a chestplate that granted invulnerability for sixty seconds per use.

And two men had come for it.

Bane.

Deathstroke.

Both were masters of war. Both refused to leave empty-handed.

Bane cracked his knuckles. "You are skilled, mercenary, but you do not belong here. The strength of Santa Prisca is my birthright."

Deathstroke twirled his sword lazily. "Birthrights mean nothing to me. If you want this armor, you'll have to pry it from me."

Bane roared, lunging forward.

Deathstroke sidestepped at the last second, slicing—a shallow cut across Bane's ribs.

Bane ignored it, bringing both fists down in a hammer strike that shattered the pavement where Deathstroke had just been.

Slade moved with precision, ducking low and driving his sword into Bane's shoulder—but Bane grabbed the blade, snapping it in half.

"You fight well," Bane admitted, "but you cannot outlast me."

His venom tubes hissed, muscles bulging. His speed increased tenfold.

Before Deathstroke could react, Bane's fist connected with his gut, sending him flying into a concrete wall.

Deathstroke coughed, wiping blood from his mouth. "Alright… that one hurt."

Bane charged, but Deathstroke pulled a smoke grenade, blinding him.

The fight turned into a brutal cat-and-mouse game—Deathstroke using his agility and tactics, Bane relying on sheer brute force.

Blades clashed.

Fists shattered bones.

Blood painted the streets.

Finally, Deathstroke saw his opening. A well-placed explosive detonated at Bane's feet, throwing him off balance just long enough for Slade to drive a dagger into his spine.

Bane roared in pain, collapsing.

Deathstroke took the Divine Item.

"Better luck next time," he muttered, vanishing into the night.

Third Battle: Villains vs. Heroes

Lex Luthor vs. Wonder Woman – The Skies Above Metropolis

Lex Luthor had claimed a Divine Gauntlet—one that let him redirect and amplify energy attacks.

And he wanted to test it.

So he called out a challenge.

And Wonder Woman answered.

The battle began midair, Luthor using his LexCorp power suit to engage her in aerial combat.

Wonder Woman's sword clashed against his energy shields, sparks flying with every strike.

"Give up, Luthor!" she commanded.

Luthor laughed. "You think I'd waste this gift? I earned this!"

He redirected one of her own energy blasts—sending it right back at her, tripling its strength.

Wonder Woman grunted as she was sent flying, but she wasn't out yet.

With a roar, she tore through the attack, closing the distance and grabbing Luthor's suit midair.

"You rely too much on your toys," she growled.

With one tremendous swing, she hurled him into a building, sending shockwaves through the city.

Luthor's suit cracked, but he wasn't finished.

The gauntlet glowed again—absorbing ambient energy from the city itself.

Wonder Woman narrowed her eyes. "Enough of this."

With a blinding burst of speed, she closed the gap before he could react—her fist colliding with the gauntlet.

The impact was too much—it overloaded, sending an explosion of golden light across the skyline.

When the dust settled, Luthor lay unconscious, the gauntlet shattered.

Wonder Woman took what remained.

"These should never have existed in the first place," she muttered before flying away.

---

The World Moves Forward

Every battle changed the balance of power.

Every Divine Item claimed or destroyed sent ripples through the world.

And Shavalyoth watched it all, knowing this was only the beginning.

Because even greater battles lay ahead.
