A Rider Kick in Marvel Rewrite

Chapter 22: Chapter 22

In the dimly lit warehouse, shadows stretched across concrete walls. Xu·Wulfu·Da, a massive wolf-like Grongi, paced back and forth with barely contained rage. His claws scraped against the floor, leaving thin metallic marks that echoed through the empty space.

"Another week passes," he growled, his voice a low rumble. "No Gegel. No kills. No advancement."

Nearby, Me·Ladya·Ba sat perfectly composed, her ladybug-like form positioned with elegant precision. She watched the wolf Grongi's tantrum with thinly veiled disdain, one delicate appendage raised in a gesture of refined disapproval.

"Your behavior is most unbecoming," she said, her voice crisp and controlled.

Xu·Wulfu·Da whirled around, his muscular frame tensing.

"What did you say!" His claws clenched into tight fists, muscles rippling with aggressive energy.

Me·Ladya·Ba's antennae twitched slightly, the only sign of her irritation. "Decorum, dear colleague. The Gegel will commence when our leaders determine the time is right."

Xu·Wulfu·Da's hackles rose, his wolf-like form bristling with aggression. "Are you looking for a fight?" he snarled, taking a menacing step toward Me·Ladya·Ba.

Me·Ladya·Ba lifted an elegant appendage, her posture remaining perfectly composed. "You have a remarkably short fuse," she remarked, her tone cool and dismissive.

Before Wulfu could respond, a massive tiger-like figure stepped between them. Me·Gadra·Da's striped form radiated calm authority, one muscular arm extended to separate the two potential combatants.

"Enough," Gadra said, his voice deep and measured. He turned first to Wulfu, fixing the wolf Grongi with a stern glare. "Control yourself."

Wulfu looked like a chastened teenager, his aggressive posture deflating slightly. He kicked at the concrete floor, muttering under his breath.

Gadra then addressed Ladya with equal gravitas. "And you. Provocation serves no purpose."

Me·Ladya·Ba inclined her head slightly, the gesture of a refined aristocrat acknowledging a respected peer. Her antennae twitched with subtle irritation, but she remained silent.

The warehouse's heavy metal door creaked open, casting a sharp silhouette across the concrete floor. La·Balva·De entered, her imposing figure radiating authority. The other Grongi immediately straightened, sensing her presence.

Xu·Wulfu·Da stepped forward, "Balva, why haven't we started a new Gegel?" he demanded, his voice a low growl that echoed through the warehouse.

La·Balva·De turned her gaze toward Wulfu, her eyes cold and calculating. She took a measured step closer, her movements deliberate and precise.

"Tell me," she said, her voice cutting through the tension, "what is our ultimate goal?"

Wulfu's muscles tensed. Without hesitation, he responded, "To bring the ultimate darkness and conquer this world for Dai-Shocker."

"Yes, that is correct. The only problem in our way is… Kuuga."

Xu·Wulfu·Da's chest puffed out, his wolf-like muscles rippling with confidence. "Kuuga will not be a problem," he declared, extending razor-sharp claws. "I will tear him apart with these claws."

La·Balva·De's gaze hardened. Her voice cut through the warehouse like a cold blade. "You are naive, Wulfu."

The other Grongi fell silent, sensing the weight of her words.

"We have already fallen to Kuuga before," she continued. "Even with Dai-Shocker's revival, we remain too prideful to recognize our previous failures. Our arrogance will be our downfall if we do not learn from our mistakes."

Xu·Wulfu·Da's confident posture deflated slightly. The warehouse echoed with a heavy silence, broken only by the distant drip of water and the tension of her rebuke.

La·Balva·De's gaze swept across the assembled Grongi, her voice low and measured. "Furthermore, the Linto are not as fragile as we once believed. Given time, they will develop technologies, weapons that could potentially harm us."

Xu·Wulfu·Da's ears perked up. "What do you suggest we do?"

"Discretion," she replied coldly. "Our previous methods were too aggressive. Killing too many Linto in a short time draws unnecessary attention. We risk exposing ourselves, risk attracting Kuuga's notice."

The wolf Grongi's claws retracted slightly. His earlier bravado melted into a more calculated stance. "So we must be more careful in our approach?"

La·Balva·De nodded, her rose tattoo seeming to pulse with an ancient rhythm. "Yes. we cannot repeat the mistakes of our past encounters."

The warehouse fell silent, the weight of her words hanging in the air like a cold, sharp blade.

La·Balva·De's cold gaze swept across the warehouse, settling on a small, fidgety figure in the corner. "Me·Ivae·Ba," she called.

The Fly Grongi shuffled forward, his insectoid form twitching nervously. He bowed repeatedly, hands rubbing together in a frantic motion.

"I'm here, yes, right away," Ivae stammered. "So sorry for being slow, please forgive me."

La·Balva·De's eyes narrowed. "Approach."

Ivae scurried forward, wings buzzing with anxiety. "Yes, of course, right away. Sorry for buzzing so loudly, I'll be quieter." His hands continued their constant wringing motion.

"You will be next to begin the Gegel," she stated flatly.

"Oh! Me?" Ivae's antennae quivered. "I'm not sure I'm worthy, sorry for being so uncertain." He bowed again, hands still rubbing together. "I'll try my best, I promise. Sorry if I disappoint."

The other Grongi watched the interaction with a mix of annoyance and mild contempt, observing Ivae's submissive behavior.

La·Balva·De extended her hand, the Gegel Ring glinting with an otherworldly energy. Her fingers moved with precise, ritualistic movements as she pressed the ring against Me·Ivae·Ba's Gedoruto. A surge of crackling energy transferred between the devices, causing Ivae's insectoid form to twitch and shudder.

"Listen carefully," Balva's voice cut through the warehouse like a blade. "Your Gegel begins now. You will kill exactly 70 humans within 14 days. No more. No less."

Ivae's antennae vibrated with nervous energy. "Seventy humans? In fourteen days?" His wings fluttered rapidly. "I-I will try my best. I promise not to fail."

Balva's eyes narrowed. Her tone became razor-sharp. "You will not try. You will accomplish this. Failure means your Gedoruto will detonate, destroying you completely."

The other Grongi watched silently. Xu·Wulfu·Da's wolf-like form tensed with predatory anticipation. Me·Ladya·Ba observed with clinical detachment.

Ivae bowed repeatedly, his movements jerky and anxious. "Yes. Understood. Seventy humans. Fourteen days. I will not fail."

La·Balva·De stepped back, the Gegel Ring's energy now fully transferred to Ivae's Gedoruto. The device pulsed with a menacing light, a constant reminder of the deadly countdown.

Me·Ivae·Ba's wings hummed with nervous energy as he emerged from the warehouse into the bustling New York City streets. His compound eyes scanned the crowds, darting from one potential target to another. The Gedoruto pulsed against his body, a constant reminder of his deadly mission.

Seventy humans. Fourteen days.

The Fly Grongi's antennae twitched, sensing the vibrant human life around him. Pedestrians walked past, completely unaware of the predator in their midst. Ivae's wings beat rapidly, lifting him slightly above the crowd, allowing him to observe without drawing attention.

A businessman talking on his phone. A jogger with headphones. A group of teenagers laughing.

Potential targets. Potential kills.

Ivae's insectoid form moved with surprising stealth, weaving between buildings and street signs. His wings created a soft, almost imperceptible buzz that blended with the city's ambient noise. He watched. He waited.

The hunt had begun.
