Chapter 233: Tohru’s Hostility Toward the Girls
Although Tohru did not have a good attitude toward Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel, whom she regarded as "cheating cats," she remained as consistent as ever when facing Shin.
Despite her frequent complaints, it seemed she had no intention of leaving Shin. Instead, she was simply worried that her position might be taken by those two.
"Don't worry, your position as the head maid won't be taken away."
As Tohru clung to him, Shin could only rub her head—honestly, the strength Tohru exerted when she was emotionally worked up was something an ordinary person would never be able to withstand.
Fortunately, Shin's current combat strength was in the hundreds of thousands, allowing him to endure Tohru's grip. That kind of strength could probably deform steel.
"But you'll have to get used to having girls in the house who carry my scent. There might even be more in the future."
"Eh… how could this happen?"
Tohru's expression showed she had taken a hit. She probably thought she could monopolize Shin, and the maids in the house posed no threat to her at all.
But now, it was clear that while the maids inside the house might not gain much favor from Shin, he could still bring other girls back from outside. This realization immediately made her feel a sense of urgency.
However, no matter how frustrated she felt, Tohru knew that the matter with Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel was already set in stone. Even if she continued to resist, it would be useless.
There was no way Shin would drive Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel away. On the contrary, if she kept making a fuss, she might end up leaving a bad impression on him.
This morning, Tohru had used the computer to learn quite a bit about human common sense and found out that her behavior was called "jealousy and rivalry."
That's right—although Shin had repeatedly warned Tohru not to learn common sense from certain books, the internet had too few safeguards in this regard, and Tohru still ended up clicking into one of them.
A harem-themed one, at that—so Tohru immediately understood that girls who made a fuss for no reason were more likely to be disliked by men.
Thus, after hearing Shin's words, even though she felt a little unhappy, she ultimately held back.
Shin was, after all, her savior and the master she was destined to serve as a maid. In Tohru's eyes, she would be by his side for the rest of her life.
"Then… fine. I'll try my best to get along with them."
Tohru pouted, her expression reluctant—she already looked down on the human race, and now she had to get along with these "cheating cats." Naturally, this was very difficult for her.
However, Shin remained optimistic. Based on the original story, after spending some time in human society, Tohru would eventually become good at socializing.
By then, she probably wouldn't treat Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel so harshly, though she might still be jealous—after all, Tohru was indeed a very possessive person.
…
"A dragon?"
In the bedroom, Shin called Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel over and explained Tohru's true identity to them.
As expected, upon hearing that Tohru was a dragon, both of them let out involuntary gasps of shock.
Sayu Ogiwara was completely unprepared for the fact that dragons even existed in this world, so her reaction was one of pure astonishment.
Irisviel, on the other hand, was different. In the Type-Moon universe, dragon species existed—for example, Artoria possessed the bloodline of the Red Dragon, and some sub-species even had a dragon's heart.
So while she was surprised, her shock stemmed more from the fact that a dragon had actually submitted to Shin.
Should she say, "As expected of someone with the strength of a Heroic Spirit"? Shin was even capable of taming a dragon…
Since her understanding of Shin's strength came entirely from the Holy Grail War, Irisviel had only assumed he was at the level of a Heroic Spirit and had never even considered the possibility of him having even greater power.
"That's right, you lowly creatures! If you know what's good for you, show some respect!"
Tohru seemed very pleased with Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel's reactions. She wore a proud expression, and her tone became arrogant.
Since Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel were her romantic rivals, she naturally saw no need to be polite to them. In fact, this kind of attitude was simply a dragon's natural response when dealing with humans.
"Don't be so rude."
Shin smacked the back of Tohru's head. The sheer force sent her stumbling forward, nearly falling over.
Even a dragon couldn't withstand Shin's strength.
"I… I got it."
Tohru pursed her lips unhappily but ultimately obeyed.
However, judging by her expression, it was clear that she wouldn't change too much in the short term. Shin was already thinking about how to get her to accept Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel.
After pondering for a while, Shin figured that his best bet was to have the three of them spend some time together tonight.
After all, the last time Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel stayed in Shin's room together, their relationship improved quickly.
So Shin could only test whether the same approach would work on Tohru. If it did, it might help reduce her jealousy toward others.
Fortunately, the new master bedroom's bed was large enough—it seemed that Ai Hayasaka had already anticipated this situation and had deliberately arranged for an oversized bed.
Forget four people—even more could fit comfortably. It was enough to make one think of the opening line of certain novels.
Shin waking up on a 200-square-meter bed…
Shaking his head, Shin pushed aside that strange thought and looked at Sayu Ogiwara and Irisviel, who were now holding onto Tohru and engaging her in conversation.
Irisviel was naturally a curious person, while Sayu Ogiwara, though not someone who usually pried into others' affairs, had many questions due to Tohru's identity as a dragon.
As a result, Tohru was soon bombarded with questions from the two girls and had no choice but to answer them one by one. From the looks of it, they were having a rather enjoyable chat.
Seeing that the three of them were getting along well, Shin decided not to disturb them. Instead, he took out his phone and sent a message to Megumi Kato.
Since he had moved to a new house, he figured it was best to send her the new address—just in case.
That way, if something urgent happened and Megumi Kato needed to come over but couldn't reach him, she wouldn't find an empty house and end up in an awkward situation.
A few seconds after Shin sent the message about his move and the new address, Megumi Kato's reply came in almost instantly:
"Can I come over tomorrow to check it out?"
Seeing this, Shin hesitated for a moment before replying:
"Sure, but since the new place is quite big, I won't be the only one there."
