Chapter 11: Return to Hogwarts
Harry yawned loudly, causing his eyes to close slightly and a few tears to appear in the corners of his eyes. He was currently sitting in potion class. It had been three days since he heard about the system update. And, to his bad luck, the chat was disabled. There was a window that had a clock ticking down to two years, leaving only the option to enter the app store.
The first day he was a little angry and sad, but having his phone with him, he knew that he would eventually be able to talk to his new friends again. He just had to be patient. Besides, he had a lot of things to do in his world, especially reading the books that chronicled his life that Rias handed him.
Harry was making the potion so lazily that Snape was about to yell at him. Was was the operative word, as the classroom door resonated with three knocks before it opened.
"What is it?!" Snape shouted angrily.
"Um... Sir... Professor Snape... Harry Potter's assistance is needed," a frightened Colin Creevey spoke, shaking a little at the anger of the Potions teacher.
Snape stopped his vigil towards the students and narrowed his eyes: "We are in class, in case you haven't noticed."
"Um... but, Professor, the wand weighing will take place, sir. It is necessary for Harry to attend."
Snape remained in the same position while staring at Colin without looking away, until he opened his mouth a few minutes later.
"Potter! Get out at once, I don't want any more interruptions in my class!"
Harry rolled his eyes before getting up and leaving while taking his things in his bag before closing the door. He didn't pay attention to Colin's words as he walked, he didn't even look at him. He simply wanted to finish this wand weighing and go somewhere else; He had a lot on his mind: plans, ideas, and other less important things, but better than the Triwizard Tournament or Snape.
When he arrived at the venue, he not only saw the Headmasters of the other schools and the other champions, there was also Ludo Bagman, Rita Skitter, and Bartemius Crouch Snr. Professor Dumbledore was walking behind him just as he arrived at the venue. Also, Mr. Ollivander was waiting with his hands in front of him, ready to examine the wands of each competitor.
"Mr. Potter! I would like to ask you a few questions!" Rita wasted no time and approached Harry, as if he were a scavenger animal waiting for some meat from somewhere. Unfortunately for her, Harry simply gave her a glance out of the corner of his left eye before completely ignoring her.
Harry simply waited ignoring most of them, with only his attention on Dumbledore and Ollivander. The former because he was curious to know if Dumbledore was someone he could not trust and distance himself from. And Ollivander just out of curiosity. But after a few minutes, he just closed his eyes as he started thinking of some things to do while he was at Hogwarts and the tournament was taking place.
The first, or rather one of the most important things he wanted to do, was to read everything he could from the castle library. If it was called one of the largest, then it had to contain a lot of things. The second thing was related to the first, but more on the spell side, magic that he could use in combat. There was also the thing in the room of requirements, that damned diadem with a piece of Voldemort's soul in it that he had to remove these days.
"Harry!"
Opening his eyes, Harry looked at Dumbledore, who had a small frown on his face. Everyone else was looking at him and he looked at Ollivander, who seemed to be waiting for him.
"Ah... then it's my turn, of course," he nodded before moving in front of Ollivander and carefully pulling his wand out from the small bag tied to the side of his waist and hidden by his wizard robes.
"Mm... Yes...", Ollivander nodded as he looked at the wand. "Twelve inches; made of holly with a phoenix feather."
Harry just stared at the old man's face, noticing that his eyes seemed to shine a little brighter than a normal, even magical, person's.
"It's been used to defend many lives... strange...", Ollivander whispered before moving the wand horizontally, creating a rainbow of beautiful lights.
"Mm... perfect condition, well done for keeping your wand so well, Mr. Potter," Ollivander smiled mysteriously before handing the wand back to Harry. The latter took it before starting to walk towards the exit.
"Wait, Harry! The pictures are next!" Ludo exclaimed, trying to stop Harry, but he simply shook his hand off as he walked.
"I have no interest in such things. Let the three champions do it."
Dumbledore frowned slightly as he looked at Harry Potter's back. The young wizard seemed discouraged in his opinion. No, perhaps the best way to describe him at the moment was that of a person with no desire to do all this, someone bored with his daily life.
When everything was over and Harry entered the common room, the first thing he saw was Hermione, who approached him seriously.
"Harry, Professor Snape says that your detention will be with him later."
"Detention? What detention?" Harry asked tilting his head slightly.
"Yes... about that..." Hermione grimaced slightly as she hugged a book. "Professor Snape assigned you a detention for disrupting class."
Harry's eyes closed before he sighed and walked out of the common room.
"Wait, where are you going, Harry?"
"I don't have time for that man's nonsense. I'll do something more worthwhile than just accepting Severus Snape's bad mood." Harry retreated from the tower as he ignored Hermione's yelling. Honestly, he didn't feel like playing along with the people in this place, not anymore. From now on, he would do things as he wanted. And while the teachers deserved a certain amount of respect and he wouldn't skip classes, that didn't mean he had to accept everything they said or ordered, even more so when such things came from Severus Snape.
Oh, he knew about the man's love for his mother, and the so-called sacrifices he made. But, in his opinion, they were all bullshit. Love? More like an obsession with Lily Evans, his mother. So, as he moved through the castle, ignoring glances and whispers behind him, he reached the seventh floor, walking down the same hallway three times, causing a door to appear and he entered.
When he saw what was inside, he smiled slightly. This was the first time he had used the room of requirement since he read about it in books. He had asked for a simple room with a bed to rest in. He threw himself onto the bed and made himself comfortable before pulling out his phone and opening the chat app.
The clock that was ticking down on his time was still there, but he wanted to claim his rewards from the mission in Konoha. Two days ago he had simply glanced at them and that was it, literally it was one look. Now, he wanted to claim his rewards and see what he could buy at the shop that would be useful.
When he moved to the tasks part, there was the mission in Konoha with a big 'complete' and he just had to press to get what he was waiting for.
[You get three rewards]
[5,000 CP]
[Psychometry]
[Animagus Form: Crow]
"Leaving aside the second reward, the other two are really useful right now," Harry muttered, pressing to claim the rewards. And, when he did, his body glowed slightly before he closed his eyes and turned into a crow. And, after he looked at his body and flew around the room for a few minutes, he returned to his human form.
But, what caught his attention the most, was the ability called psychometry. This ability allowed him to see events as if they were there, including the sights, sounds, and feelings, both emotional and physical, that the wearer of the object experienced. He knew this could be a good thing, and a bad thing. Good because he could learn many things more easily, but bad because if he wasn't careful, he could see something extremely bad and end up harmed.
"Well... at least I can make faster progress in terms of knowledge," Harry said to himself, closing his eyes as he prepared to get some sleep before leaving the room of requirements and returning to class.
