Chapter 1492: Finally Leaving!
A/N: Finally leaving Voumi behind. xD Sorry it took so long.

Mafo's eyes twitched, and he waved his hand at her. "Put it back!" he yelled, ordering her as if his eyes were in pain just looking at her.
He then stepped back and went back to his seat, losing interest. Misha was relieved that she had lost his attention, but also felt a bit awkward at everyone's reactions.
She was still a woman who loved beautiful things and loved to be beautiful, in the end.
That said, even if Mafo and Hesso were some of the ugliest men in the region, women were held to a completely different standard. Seeing their faces damaged was literally offensive to the eyes, not even thinking that they were far more unsightly.
Anyway, it made Mafo annoyed. "What did you do that for?!"
"You said to show, Milord…"
Seeing her being cheeky, Mafo's eyes twitched. This time, Otto butted in. "I've seen this type of skill in the Cities," he said. "Wood elementalists are the closest to the human body," he said. "It could be that it was related to her face."
"It's nothing special, mostly cosmetic," he said, appearing nonchalant as if his interest had also waned.
"I assume when she beds you, it is ethereal. And you will like seeing her face more, regardless of how it actually looks," he explained, emphasizing the effect on looks. "That said, it might no longer work because her face has been destroyed."
"Is it like that?" they asked, a little doubtful, but half-believing. However, it did make sense, and it wouldn't do to question the city person too much face-to-face.
However, Mafo refused to let him take advantage so easily. "Regardless of whether it's damaged or not, it's still a mutated ability. I'm sure someone from the city can find a way to fix her and use her ability,"
"Therefore, she's worth at least two hundred gold."
The same product—a low-leveled elementalist—worth 50 to 100 gold in a Town could sell at least two times in the City. Although this man claimed he would settle in a Town, who could tell if he was saying the truth?
Even if he was, the fact that he had connections with cities meant he could sell it for such an amount.
"You assume that I must have her—I do not," Otto said, making Mafo frown and Misha to flinch. "But I admit I'm a little curious. Just so you know, pushing for more would make me let go of my interest as well."
"As for the others…," he paused, looking at the other women presented to him. "I can buy them for 50 gold each. Don't haggle anymore, otherwise I just won't take it."
And like this, Otto managed to purchase out a few scores of 'decent' slaves.
…
Fortunately, this could still be resolved by money, which was why he took much of his liquidated wealth into his system wallet. He also withdrew some money he had put away in the bank. He knew Lords could see wealth, and he wanted to appear as attractive a target as possible.
The businessman in him was physically in pain for not being able to haggle as much as he could, but he couldn't risk Misha's life at all.
The other people looked relieved that they were bought by him, to finally escape from those people's clutches.
Of course, they did not assume that Otto would be kind to them. They knew it was a possibility that he'd make them suffer, considering they were mere slaves, but being with him was definitely the lesser of two evils in their minds.
This was normal. Not only was Otto from a city—so their conditions were likely to improve—he was also handsome. Those men were really ugly, but what made it worse was their attitude and core.
They just knew it in their gut: Wherever they'd be taken, it could not be worse than Voumi!
…
Otto's party left in a few carriages again. The drivers were from Ferrol, but they hid any signs of their affiliations. This way, they could head to the meeting places without having to worry about someone tattling to Mafo about what was going on.
With him in one of the carriages were four women.
One was Misha, while the other three were those sent to him before the wedding. He didn't touch them, but he did allow them to stay in the hotel room.
He just instructed them not to leave the room while he left through the window. Of course, the next morning, he'd come through there too, making the outsiders think he spent the night with them.
The women were puzzled, but they thought he just had some other things to do at night. They didn't think he was planning on touching them at all.
Now…they were finally leaving that wretched place, and they couldn't help but look forward to it a bit. Even if they could easily be sold off again elsewhere, being with those evil, ugly bastards was really taking a toll on their sanity!
The women didn't talk for a while until the carriage lunged forward, and until they finally left the walls of the Town. Their eyes were fixed on their handsome saviour though. Regardless of his intentions, they still felt relieved that it was him who was taking them away.
"Thank you… thank you…" they told him as they finally left that horrendous place far behind.
"We are willing to do anything you ask, Master."
"Yes, Master, whatever you ask of us, we will do our utmost best to satisfy you."
Their differing tones made Otto look at them. Misha was silent, looking away as if the window curtain was open (it was not), and another one (the youngest-looking girl) seemed to be sobbing silently on her own, as if she was just relieved to get out of there.
The remaining two of them, though..., he didn't even have to turn to know they were looking at him greedily.
He sighed, rubbing his temple.
It's so hard to be handsome.
