After Surviving the Apocalypse, I Built a City in Another World

Chapter 1493: The Three New Rescues

They headed North for now (since Otto said he was considering Valov). After about an hour, Otto and the guards eventually confirmed that there was no one following them anymore. They took a few more turns and, after ordering the drivers to slowly go east and then southeast, he finally relaxed.

The slight change in atmosphere alone made the women's eyes stick on him even more.

The three extra girls bought this time were the 18-year-old Penelope, the 21-year-old Lacie, and the 22-year-old Stephanie.

Penelope was a well-endowed young girl with dark skin. She was originally from Juno Village. She was among the slaves who had been transferred along with Gurnam back then. She was, unfortunately, favored by Houlu, Mafo's right-hand man. He had a big thing for the well-endowed.

However, after so long, he had grown tired of her and found other girls, so he was willing to let her go to see if she could be sold for a high price.

Lacie and Stephanie, on the other hand, were from Diana Village. They were sold along with Sarah, and were both Mafo's women. He loved them both until Sandra came along and took most of his attention.

When they were called a few nights ago, the three girls had no idea they would be serving someone from the city! When they saw how handsome he was despite his mask, they actually felt a little blessed.

Not only did they avoid that disgusting illness, but they were given a new life!

The three of them were picked favorites by the Lord and their cronies and the girls lived with them instead of the dormitories, where that disease spread. This was why they were undamaged.

Speaking of the ill people, their fates were now unknown and they were sold for a very low price. In contrast, they —the undamaged—were sold for a maximum price for a town (though they heard they were thrice or more times more valuable in cities).

It was said that a man would value something that cost him a lot compared to those he got easily. Therefore, by that rule, they felt they'd be cherished more.

Lacie and Stephanie, in particular, had always sensed superior to those in the dormitory. After all, they lived with nobles and had decent food, drinks, and clothing.

They barely even suffered during the Heat Wave—all they had to do was close their eyes at night and endure the pain and disgust, but at least their stomachs weren't eating themselves.

Now, even if they didn't stay, their fate was said to be even better.

Anyway, the girls hadn't ever been into a proper beast cart before, so they were quite fascinated. The four sat on one side, squeezing there. It wasn't that no one wanted to sit directly next to Otto, but they were intimidated by his level.

Anyway, the view allowed them to comfortably stare at him.

Their eyes traced over Otto's form. Although he was wearing a mask, they could tell he was handsome. And his body…

Lacie and Stephanie looked at each other up and down, a sense of competition brewing, as it had before.

They didn't even see Misha, who was damaged, as a rival. Not to mention Penelope, who definitely didn't have the will or courage to compete with them. She was the type to just succumb to get it over with.

They watched as their new master opened the window to the driver. "Is it safe now?"

"Yes, sir Otto."

"Sigh, finally," Otto said, finally taking off his mask. Seeing his face, the three women gasped and gaped at him.

So handsome!! Even more handsome than they thought!

However, while he was being gaped at, Otto's eyes were fixed on Misha's face.

Misha had always lived for herself and rarely cared about what others thought. She wanted to say this was no different, but somehow she felt self-conscious anyway.

"Did you have to go so far?" he asked, with a slight frown on his face. The familiar tone made the girls flinch in surprise.

Misha gave him a blank look. "Is it ugly?"

"I just find it a pity."

Misha shook her head. "We had to do what we had to do," she said. Penelope looked down, looking guilty.

Otto looked at him, having an idea about what had happened. He had a feeling that the 'rogue fire user' didn't exist at all. "Let me guess: You got someone to burn you for real on purpose.

"Who was the fire elementalist you got to burn you?" He asked. What he'd do or why he wanted to know, he wasn't particularly certain either.

Penelope, who had calmed down from sobbing earlier, suddenly burst into tears again. "I'm sorry…"

Misha sighed, touching the girl's hand. "I requested it," she said, looking at the others in the room, reiterating. "I requested it."

Misha then patted the other girl's back. "I asked you specifically because you're newly awakened and your fire isn't too strong yet."

Penelope still cried, obviously feeling guilty about the damage she caused.

Otto sighed.

"Here, take this," Otto said, handing Misha a pretty bottle made of glass.

The glass itself was enough to shock the women, though it was more likely that it was something made by Crystal City or a similar place.

After all, they had the impression he was from a City.

"It's a Pharmacy-level Healing Potion," he said. "It is also made by an elementalist, so it could probably help you out."

"What?"

Although they didn't know a lot of things in this world, they at least knew pharmacist-level items were very expensive.

Mafo himself only had a few bottles (he bragged about it) and all of which he had in his space and refused to use them no matter what.

Misha shook her head. "This is too much," she said. "A cheaper one will do, and I can't afford it.

"I'm not charging you."

"No, thank you," she said, tone a bit dismissive. "I'll wear a mask if it bothers you so much."

This made Lacie sneer a bit. Misha had always had it good, so it must've gotten to her head. How could she be so stupid for being so arrogant?

Xeno men were very arrogant and looked down on women. Even the gentler types had their own biases. They thought this woman definitely lost favor by acting so arrogantly!

However, instead of being angry, the man looked patient. He only sighed.

"Are you still mad at me?" Otto said, using a soft tone no one expected from him. "I'm sorry."

The girls: "???"
