Alpha Damon’s Greatest Regret

Chapter 9: Chapter 9- My Son

Damon~

I could see it in her eyes, there was no longer any fear, all I could see was the anger that burned brightly in her as she stared at me.

"Dina Meyers," I said coldly "Really?" I continued with a mocking tone.

"What do you want" she asked not even paying heed to my words, I raised a brow and gently stroked Elliot's hair before I answered her.

"You still dare to ask that question," I said, confidence and strength packed in every word that left my mouth, if this was gonna work I needed to be in control.

"Answer me Torrence!" she shouted, all the others froze with shock.

"Respect your fucking alpha runt" Daniel snapped, anger filling him as he stepped forward but stopped when I raised my hand, signaling him to refrain from whatever it is he wanted to do, I stood up from the chair and gently picked up Elliott then I passed it to her all with one thought in my mind 'She's changed', back then she wouldn't even dare speak back to me but now she was even raising her voice.

"Put my son to bed" I ordered and I could practically feel the anger that wafted around her as she heard those words, she walked past me and went into his room, After a few seconds she walked out and locked the door behind her but didn't leave the doorway, I flashed a smug grin at her and she tensed up, she refused to move from the door like a lioness guarding her cub she looked fierce but I didn't care.

"You're coming with us," I said like it was a fact, I locked my eyes on hers and stepped closed "We leave at dawn. It's not a request"

Those words seemed to be the final thing to set her off as she stepped away from the door and took a step closer to me.

"You don't get to tell me what to do Damon. Not anymore" she said but all I could think of was how nice she smelled, Nox had once again shown himself by howling like crazy and I was thankful I was the only one who could hear it, the proximity was driving me crazy but I played if off, I took a step back making sure it didn't seem like I was evading then I smugly I said.

"You've forgotten your place", She let out a bitter laugh, almost a cackle.

"My place? The place you put me in when you rejected me? When you made it clear I was nothing to you" She said her voice growing louder and angrier with every word that left her mouth "You rejected me. You rejected my son the moment you turned your back on me. You don't get to claim him" They were just words but for some reason, I felt like I was being attacked.

"You think you can just walk in here and act like Elliot's yours? Like you have some right to him?" She spat, her first clenched like she was holding herself back from slashing at my throat "You had no right to me, and you sure as hell have no right to my son."

"Watch how you talk to me" I growled, starting to feel disrespected by the tone she was using.

"You are not my Alpha. My bond to the hell has been broken for a fucking long time," she snapped, stepping closer. "You were the one who threw me away, Damon. You made that choice. I'm not the weak little runt you rejected. I'm stronger now—strong enough to protect what's mine, and that includes my son.", for a brief second, my mind went blank as I realized I couldn't intimidate her, not anymore.

"You don't get to come here, sit in my house, and pretend like you care about him. You didn't care about your mate, his mother, then, and you sure as hell don't care about us now. You're only here because you think you can control me. But you can't." She continued her aggressive rant, I clenched my jaw feeling a little frustrated by her resistance, I didn't think it would be this hard, she was obviously not gonna let me take him without a fight and I couldn't let that happen so I decided to appeal to her reasonable side.

"He's my blood—" Before I could finish my sentence she cut me off.

"The day you rejected me, you rejected him. Blood means nothing if you don't act like a father. Elliot is my son. I've raised him, cared for him, protected him. You? You're a fucking stranger." She said, her voice blank of any emotion and her eyes cold, the room went silent for a moment and all I could hear was the sound of my own breathing, my nails dug into my palms, I wanted to speak but something told me she wouldn't give me the chance.

"You may be Alpha back in Howlcreek, but not here," she said, her voice steady and calm as she spoke. "Here, you're just a man who couldn't handle the responsibility of his choices. And if you think for one second I'm going to let you or anyone else take Elliot from me, you're dead wrong.", Daniel finally had enough of her disrespectful growler from behind me, Kendra's eyes were fixed on her, daring her to say one more word out of line and yet she didn't seem to care, I was about to talk but she wouldn't have that.

"You made your bed Damon, you don't get to rewrite the past just because it's convenient" she spat, this was too much disrespect I thought, and took a step forward but she didn't back down, She knew she was in a disadvantageous situation yet she refused to back down, I was angry, but at the same time I was hesitant, I stepped closer to her.

"I marked you Zarah, you are still my mate, a few words can't change that", she chuckled as she heard my words, I wondered why but when she pulled down the collar of her shirt I got the answer.
