Chapter 561: 203. Everyone has weaknesses_2

After making a quip, the woman stood up and left.
"Mr. Block, you've just cost me the chance to delve deeper into conversation with this beauty tonight!"
Once the woman had left, Eric Ribero, recognizing Donnie, casually remarked.
Donnie nodded and said, "That's indeed regrettable."
Then Donnie turned around and once again called out to the woman who had just left, clearly searching for another target.
The woman, feeling disgruntled and unwilling to come over, but at that moment Steve Coting stood beside her and made a beckoning gesture.
Seeing this, the woman had no choice but to come over with visible dissatisfaction.
"Sir, don't you know that you should treat a lady with gentlemanly decorum?"
Donnie chuckled and said, "Just now, Mr. Ribero mentioned I cost him an evening's opportunity for deep interaction with you, madam, so I'm trying to make up for my rashness."
Eric Ribero leaned back in his chair, looking at Donnie with some curiosity, wanting to know what Donnie would do next.
The woman also asked curiously, "Then, I wonder, sir, how do you plan to make amends?"
Donnie didn't answer immediately but instead took out a rolled-up thousand US Dollar bill from his jacket pocket, placed it on the table, and then said with a smile, "I think this sum should be enough for you, a beautiful lady, to find a comfortable spot and wait patiently while Mr. Ribero and I finish our conversation!"
When the woman saw the cash in Donnie's hand, her dissatisfaction and curiosity vanished, replaced by delight. She grabbed the roll without hesitation and tucked it into her neckline, "Of course, I wouldn't mind even if you, sir, wanted to join as well!"
After saying that, the woman stood up, kissed a somewhat bewildered Eric Ribero, "Darling, I'll wait for you over there, no matter how late!"
After the woman left, Donnie laughed and said, "Mr. Ribero, I think now we can have a proper chat, right?"
By this time, Eric Ribero had regained his composure, "Mr. Block, such behavior is against the Constitution of the United States. Maybe I should take you in for questioning by the IRS!"
"Come on!" Donnie exclaimed extravagantly, "Eric, are you really going to talk to me about the United States Constitution here?"
Eric Ribero didn't dwell on this subject. Of course, he knew why Donnie had suddenly appeared here, "Mr. Block, I think you are already aware that the IRS investigation into you is not something I'm in charge of, and I don't have the authority to stop it either!"
Donnie waved his hand dismissively and laughed, "I don't care about the IRS investigation at all because it's simply not going to succeed."
Eric Ribero stated, "Maybe it's just that you, Mr. Block, do not yet understand the power of the IRS."

Donnie leaned back in his chair and laughed, "The private alcohol business, in the United States, is so enormous that any authority should think twice before challenging it. Anyone looking to challenge this interest group will only face destruction; there's no other outcome!"
Eric Ribero asked, "So Mr. Block, you went public with this matter to ensure your own safety."
Obviously, even though Eric Ribero wasn't in charge of this matter, he had been keeping an eye on it.
Donnie laughed and said, "Since I've chosen to take on this matter, I've naturally made it my business to study the rules of the game. During this process, I've come to understand an important truth, whether it's an institution or an industry, everyone has their own rules. Whether they are overt or covert, the first step is to learn them. But many people die before reaching this step, do you know why? They are too self-righteous.
The second step is to find the thread within the game and learn not to break the rules, understanding how to play within the bounds, only then you can barely keep your life."
To the United States government, there's no head of any department who is irreplaceable. When a person touches the interests of the majority, they will inevitably fall due to these rules."
Eric Ribero looked at Donnie with some surprise; he hadn't expected Donnie to have such a clear insight into the situation.
"So then, Mr. Block, if you didn't come for your own matter, what brings you to me?"
Donnie said, "It's simple. Coshek Kevin is certainly not going to become the IRS Commissioner. Under these circumstances, I'm planning to have Michael Ribero, become the IRS Commissioner!"
Eric Ribero, as if he had heard a great joke, said, "Mr. Block, is this your understanding of the rules? I know you have powerful connections in the White House, but I can assure you, even the White House wouldn't make such a definite statement like you just did!"
Donnie, however, showed no signs of joking and calmly said, "Eric, do you really think I would come to you without confidence?"
Eric Ribero fell silent. At Donnie's level, he certainly wouldn't undertake any aimless actions.
But... the idea of Donnie wanting to appoint the IRS Commissioner still seemed far-fetched to Eric Ribero!
"Thank you, Mr. Block, but my father isn't interested in that position, so there's no need for us to continue this conversation!"
Donnie's expression didn't change due to Eric Ribero's refusal, "It doesn't matter whether Mr. Michael Ribero is interested. What matters is whether you, Eric, are interested. Imagine how future American history would record this chapter with back-to-back Commissioners of the IRS from the Ribero Family. It might not take long for the Ribero Family to become one of the great families in the United States!"
