Chapter 562: 203. Everyone has weaknesses_3
Eric Liribeiro's breathing was somewhat heavy; it was evident that he had been somewhat swayed by Donnie. In actuality, this was the reason Donnie had sought him out. Compared to Michael Ribeiro, Eric Liribeiro was known to be more radical based on the intelligence Donnie had gathered.
And this was exactly what Donnie had always wanted to exploit!
But almost immediately, Eric Liribeiro let reason triumph over emotion, saying, "Although Coshek Kevin will stumble over this matter of yours, Mr. Block, he is a figure of compromise between the White House and Congress. He won't fail to become the IRS Director because of this issue!"
Donnie gently tapped on the desk, smiling as he said, "Eric, it's clear you still don't quite understand me. If I didn't have absolute confidence, I wouldn't be here speaking to you about these matters!"
Eric Liribeiro looked at Donnie, full of confidence, his gaze flickering uncertainly.
"I wonder, Mr. Block, what is it you truly wish to say?"
Just as Eric Liribeiro anticipated Donnie to resolve his confusion, Donnie stood up, still smiling, and said, "There's no rush for this matter. Tonight, Eric, just enjoy yourself. Tomorrow, wait for me in suite 1205 of the Sabah Hotel, and we can discuss this in detail!"
After finishing, Donnie didn't give Eric Liribeiro a chance to continue the inquiry and promptly left the place.
Watching Donnie's retreating figure, Eric Liribeiro fell into contemplation, not even noticing that the woman who had just been there had already come up to him!
.
The next day!
Donnie gave the woman who had been by his side 10 US Dollars, then let her leave.
Sitting alone in the suite's living room, he leisurely sipped coffee, and asked Steve Cotting, who had just come in, "Has anything happened over in Atlantic City?"
Steve Cotting said, "Just as you predicted, boss, indeed some people are getting restless. This morning, Rene Mel sent word that someone has already sought him out!"
Donnie asked with a smile, "Who?"
"Nevin! Nevin Byrd!"
Steve Cotting told Donnie a name.
"It seems he can't let go of what happened before!" Donnie shook his head and asked, "Is there anyone else?"
Steve Cotting said, "There are a few bar owners, but they are not significant figures!"
Donnie was slightly disappointed; these people were minor characters without much strategic value. It would have been better if some officials from City Hall were involved!
However, this matter had just begun to ferment in Atlantic City. If he waited longer, perhaps a big fish or two really would jump out!
As Donnie contemplated these matters, the door was knocked.
Steve Cotting went to open the door and saw Eric Liribeiro standing there.
After Eric Liribeiro came in, Donnie noticed that Eric's spirit wasn't very good.
"It seems last night's lady was well worth that thousand dollars!" Donnie teased Eric Liribeiro.
Eric Liribeiro didn't mind Donnie's teasing; having been somewhat formal in conversation with Donnie the day before, now he appeared more relaxed.
He sat down directly on the sofa and also changed how he addressed Donnie, "Donnie, let's hear your plan!"
Everyone has a weakness: be it greed, lust, or some unique little fetish. If you precisely capture a person's weakness, overcoming them is not too difficult of a task.
Donnie had precisely seized the weakness of the Ribeiro father and son. Eric Liribeiro had too much pride to bear Coshek Kevin being above his father, likewise believing that his capabilities were sufficient for the position of IRS Director.
Michael Ribeiro was honorable, but Eric Liribeiro was his Achilles' heel.
Now that Eric Liribeiro had been brought into his camp, Michael Ribeiro was no longer an issue.
"Perhaps you should take a look at this material first!" Taking out the previously gathered information on Coshek Kevin from his bag, Donnie handed it to Eric Liribeiro.
Eric Liribeiro flipped through the files on Coshek Kevin, his expression growing more serious and his posture straightening.
"This information..." Eric Liribeiro looked incredulously at Donnie.
Donnie sat with his legs crossed opposite him, smiling as he said, "To collect information on Coshek Kevin, I temporarily pulled together a fifty-person team, relentless in gathering any remnants of Coshek Kevin's previous speeches. Indeed, if one is determined, anyone's weaknesses can be found!"
Eric Liribeiro hadn't expected that Coshek Kevin would have ever made such shockingly scandalous remarks.
These were definitely dark spots on Coshek Kevin's political record, destined to end everything for him if they came to light!
"You trust me so much, aren't you worried I could be an undercover agent?"
Eric Liribeiro couldn't understand Donnie's behavior; he had only just chosen to collaborate with Donnie, and now Donnie had shown him such critical information.
Donnie laughed and said, "Why wouldn't I trust you? Besides, none of this is fabricated; it's the solid truth. Even if Coshek Kevin wanted to do something, there's no way he could.
Of course, most importantly, I believe you won't pass up this opportunity!"
The world must have people of integrity, but Donnie didn't believe Eric Liribeiro was one of them!
