MTLNOVEL Chapter 581: Moving In
Bai Feng's rage rushed through his veins, and soon golden sparks appeared around his body. Electric current flew all over the place in a wild motion, cracking the ice underneath his feet; even the snow that collected on the windowsills and roofs melted under the impact of the electric currents that fluttered through the streets.
Soon, countless mutated bugs started falling from the sky as they had been electrocuted to death. The smell of burnt flesh surged through the streets, and the explosion of the smell of burnt flesh made everyone gag in disgust.

She knew that the reproductive abilities of the mutated creatures were really fast, but she never knew that they were this fast. She didn't expect that in just a few days these bugs would level up and then submerge the entire base in a matter of a few seconds.
Bai Meiyue sighed when she heard the screams of those who were caught in the waves of the mutated bugs. She could feel their terror even though she was not among them. Though these people were living in the apocalypse, they had yet to understand their predicament. After getting a place in the safe base, they now foolishly believed that they were safe.
But in truth, there was no such thing as a safe place in this world. If there was, then Bai Meiyue was clearly not aware of it, because the bases where she used to live were never one hundred per cent safe. Even with all the defences and mechanisms that the bases of the future would use, the zombies would still penetrate the walls of these bases. If one was not careful, there was a very good chance that they would end up losing everything, including their bases.
And till the end, there was only one base that was equipped with all kinds of defences.
Bai Meiyue glanced at Lei Qian, who was driving through the streets. Even though their car was surrounded by the mutated bugs, Lei Qian seemed to have found a way to deal with them. He easily drove past the streets with a flamethrower attached to the front, top and sides of the RV.
Lei Qian had modified the car, and Bai Meiyue had no idea when he had done it. But what surprised her was that with the help of Bai Zhan, Lei Qian had somehow connected these flamethrowers with his own flames. According to her brother, the container to capture Lei Qian's flame was created by him. It was a special material that he had refined and would not melt even under Lei Qian's flames.
It was quite a surprise, as Lei Qian's flame was way too hot for any element to contain. The fact that her brother had refined a container to contain these flames showed that he had also surpassed the fifth level of ability users. If not, then her brother would have never been able to curate a box that could contain Lei Qian's flames.
With the flamethrowers attached to their RV, it didn't take long for them to drive away from Yu Miaomiao's base. After three hours of driving, they finally arrived at the mansion where they were going to start living. Everyone was so tired after driving for so long that they didn't even want to say a word.
When Bai Meiyue saw the soldiers who had followed them, she didn't even bother to question them about their intentions. She simply dumped them on her elder brother, who was responsible for creating the gates and fences for the new mansions. Though these people could not turn useless metals into something impenetrable, they could at least do welding and carry things here and there. With them around, her brother would have an easy time taking care of this and that.
So what if they were used as a coolie? Wasn't she going to raise them in the end? It was better for them to be useless lest they become an eyesore. However, inwardly in her heart, she was annoyed at Fox. She knew that it was that man who had asked these men to follow her. She had to admit that the man was really smart.
Instead of letting these men follow him back and cause even more trouble, he asked them to follow her. At least with them leaving the base, the strife and struggle among the soldiers could still be controlled.
She turned to look at her brother and said to him, "Brother Zhan, try to enclose these mansions within a bunch of walls that cannot be penetrated by anyone. Especially someone from the safe base."
