MTLNOVEL Chapter 582: Moving In (2)
"Are you thinking of making a base, Yueyue?" Bai Zhan was quite surprised when he heard Bai Meiyue's request. He too had this plan earlier, but he never told it to Bai Meiyue because he was worried that she would start thinking too much. After all, he had seen through the ambitions of his sister and other than living a good life, she wanted nothing more.
More importantly, creating a set of walls around these mansions wouldn't be an easy task. It was a big project that would require not only a large number of workers but also concrete and bricks, along with many iron gates that needed to be turned into a mixture of other elements by him before they could even be used. Because of the current situation, even if they used those old iron doors, they would be beaten down by the ability users.
For this project, they would need more than ten earth users, but also metal users. If not, then Bai Zhan didn't think that they would be able to finish this task. After all, he was the only metal user whom Bai Meiyue trusted, and with the current project at hand, he couldn't do it alone.
Bai Meiyue pursed her lips. When she looked at the zombies that were running outside, she could only sigh and say, "Not a base, but we need to get ourselves a safe house as well. As for whether we will turn it into a safe base or not, we will think about it later on."
She then turned to look at the rest of the people who came with them and said, "Stay at this mansion for the time being. Until or unless the other mansions are taken under the base walls and the zombies are cleared up, you are not allowed to live alone. Not unless you are confident that you can do it alone."
No one had the strength to go out and venture in the streets at night. Even if they were ability users and wanted to stay alone, they knew that it was better to stay together for the time being. After all, they were not familiar with these mansions, and they all moved here in a hurry. No one knew what was waiting for them inside the mansions. What was more, Xiao Wu had told them the last time they came here, they were attacked by a level two zombie.
Even though the level two zombie was cleared by Bai Meiyue and Lei Qian, no one was willing to fight with one at the moment. Not that they were as skilled as Bai Meiyue and Lei Qian.
Though not much time had passed since then, it was better to be safe than sorry.
Listening to Bai Meiyue's words, everyone went inside the mansion and started looking for a room where they could spend the night and sleep.
Bai Meiyue, too, went to the room that she had chosen, and without washing away the sweat, went straight to sleep. After fighting against those flesh-eating bugs for the entire day, her body was tired and her legs were shaking. She wanted nothing more than to close her eyes and take a blissful nap.
However, just as she closed her eyes, she felt a warm sensation spread all over her feet, and she opened her eyes, only to see Lei Qian massaging her foot.
"What are you doing?" She asked with a frown.
"You must be tired after standing for so long," said Lei Qian as he rubbed the underside of her foot. With his fingers that were neither too hot or cold, he rubbed her foot carefully and tried to ease the swelling. "I would have asked you to eat the supplements, but your mother told me that you haven't eaten anything for the entire day. I don't know if it's safe to eat them on an empty stomach."
"There are some that I can take on an empty stomach, like B12, but I think it's better to eat something and then eat them," Bai Meiyue sighed. She didn't want to eat any supplements without eating food because the last time she had done it, she ended up getting nauseated. Though she was no longer as malnourished as she was in the past, Bai Meiyue knew that her condition wasn't any better either.
Lei Qian nodded. He raised his head and asked, "Do you want to drink some light porridge? I can make some for you."
Bai Meiyue, however, shook her head and said to him, "I am feeling a bit tired."
Hearing her response, the man nodded. He said to her, "But if you feel hungry at night, make sure to tell me. Alright?"
Bai Meiyue hummed in response, but her voice was a bit drawn out as she was feeling sleepy, and with Lei Qian rubbing her foot, it didn't take long for her to fall asleep, and maybe she was too tired because she didn't wake up till the next day. And when she opened her eyes, Bai Meiyue was quite surprised that she was able to sleep through the boom and bangs that were happening behind the mansion.
She sat up on the bed and peered out of the window, only to see her brothers working together to deal with the mansion wall that separated the two mansions. Upon waking up, Bai Meiyue raised her arms over her head and yawned heavily. She took a glance at the clock that was on the wall opposite her bed and saw that it was already eleven in the morning.
Realising that she was rather late in waking up, Bai Meiyue sighed and slowly got to her feet before heading out of the room. When she walked down the stairs, she saw her mother cooking in the kitchen with Jiang Haidai.
"You are awake," Mother Bai raised her head upon hearing the sound of footsteps. She then picked up a bowl that she had placed to one side and said to Bai Meiyue, "We made some eel noodles in the morning. Lei Qian brought some frozen eels from downtown, and I was afraid that they would go bad if we left them alone, so I cooked them right away. See if you can eat them; if not, I will cook something light for you."
