Chapter 185: Chapter 185 – Rin Nohara Revived, Obito’s Loyalty: 100
PS: In the next chapter, Rin Nohara will be revived. So don't say Hyuga Gakuya treats his subordinates poorly—he makes them take the fall while he enjoys the benefits. The author is back to filling in plot holes.
As for reviving Gakuya's parents or the Hiashi couple... let's not touch that for now. Why?
Because the grand plan isn't complete. But don't worry—when the time comes, they'll be brought back. The author hasn't forgotten Gakuya's original intention.
...
"What's the plan now? We've got the Eight-Tails. All that's left is the Nine-Tails. How are we going to get it?" Sasuke asked.
Obito let out a cold laugh. "Heh… You really think you've captured the Eight-Tails?"
With that, he placed his hand on Killer B's "body" and dispelled the chakra illusion.
A massive octopus tentacle dropped to the ground. Sasuke and Kisame's expressions twisted with disbelief. After all their effort, they'd only caught a clone.
Sasuke clenched his fists, eyes wide with shock. Even with the Sharingan, he hadn't realized it was a fake.
Kabuto tried to reassure him.
"No need to panic. We're still not strong enough. The Nine-Tails' Jinchūriki has already fully mastered the Nine-Tails' power. Right now, his strength surpasses yours, Sasuke."
Sasuke's brow furrowed. "That damn Naruto…"
"Relax," Kabuto said with a smile. "I brought something valuable back from the Federation."
He reached into his sleeve and pulled out a sealed scroll. Unrolling it, he dispelled the seal to reveal two pairs of Sharingan preserved in nutrient fluid.
"These belonged to Itachi and Fugaku. You've already awakened the Mangekyō Sharingan. I'll help you fuse them and obtain the Eternal Mangekyō."
Sasuke didn't hesitate. He needed more power, and he knew it.
Obito turned away, phasing into the Kamui dimension. But before he disappeared, he left behind a single sentence: "If we move now, we'll still make it to the Six Nations Summit."
...
While Kabuto worked on fusing the Sharingan, events unfolded inside the Kamui dimension.
Obito arrived to find Hyuga Gakuya standing beside Rin's crystal coffin, calmly watching him.
Their eyes met. Obito glared, his voice harsh. "Stay away from her. I did everything just like you told me."
Gakuya waved his hand with a serene smile.
"Of course. You didn't disappoint me. In fact, you did quite well. But… do you remember what I promised you?"
Obito's heart skipped. He had a faint idea, but played dumb.
"What are you talking about?"
Gakuya casually sat down atop a stone pillar.
"Nothing much. I just remembered telling you that if you completed all the tasks I gave you, I'd bring you and Rin back to life."
He paused for a moment. "And I think it's time I fulfilled that promise."
"You're serious?" Obito's eyes widened, heart trembling.
"Absolutely. But nothing comes free. All I ask is that you continue supporting my plan. As long as you play your role in the script I gave you, the two of you will be able to live peacefully in the world I'm going to create."
"If Sasuke doesn't become the Ten-Tails' Jinchūriki, you'll need to take his place. Follow the plan and become the Ten-Tails' host."
Obito closed his eyes, searching for the catch in Gakuya's words. But in the end, he just laughed bitterly. What choice did he have? He'd been a pawn all along.
But now that Gakuya was offering this out of kindness… why refuse?
"Fine. I accept."
Gakuya's smile deepened. "I knew you would. Come with me."
He activated Kamui again, pulling Obito into a new coordinate.
...
The two of them emerged in an entirely different world.
Obito looked around—birds chirped, flowers bloomed, mountains rippled in the distance, and a forest of green trees swayed like a sea under the gentle breeze. A clear stream flowed nearby, sunlight glinting on its surface as it danced through the grass.
Before them stood several wooden cabins, rice paddies filled with golden stalks, ducks and fish swimming freely, and puppets tending the fields.
It was like something out of a dream.
"This is a world I built at the heart of the Moon," Gakuya said with a smile. "Nice, right? Rin will stay here until the new world is complete."
Just as he said, this was Gakuya's reconstructed lunar world. Powered by his ocular abilities, the artificial sun would shine as long as he lived.
Obito nodded silently, unsure how to respond. He had once thought Gakuya's promises were just illusions. But now… he was really going to bring Rin—and him—back.
"If you're satisfied, that's all that matters." Gakuya retrieved the crystal coffin from Kamui space and opened the lid. He summoned the Demonic Statue of the Outer Path to supply him with chakra.
His hands moved swiftly through a string of seals. A torrent of dense chakra exploded outward, forming a massive array under his feet, enveloping both the coffin and Obito.
Golden light flowed across their bodies. Obito felt warmth surge through him—breath, taste, hunger… all his human senses returned.
His pair of Mangekyō Sharingan remained intact. Gakuya had even crafted replacements using his own ocular power.
Inside the coffin, Rin Nohara's eyelids twitched, then slowly opened.
Her body had been preserved with Hashirama cells. All Gakuya had to do was retrieve her soul.
...
Rin blinked slowly. Her gaze was dazed at first, then gradually cleared. She sat up weakly, looking at the two men before her—Hyuga Gakuya and Obito—with confusion in her eyes.
"Who… are you? What's going on? Wasn't I in the Pure Land?" Her voice was soft, tinged with fragility.
Obito still wore his mask, and she didn't recognize Gakuya.
Slowly, Obito removed his mask, revealing his fully restored face. His eyes shimmered with emotion as he stepped forward and embraced her tightly.
"Rin… You're alive. You're really alive!"
"You're… Obito?"
"It's me!"
...
After sending the Demonic Statue back to the ninja world, Gakuya took a moment to check the depletion of chakra and life force in his body.
Thanks to the statue's chakra reserves, the chakra cost was negligible.
But life force? That wasn't so easily replenished. Gakuya's face was pale—he needed the Ten-Tails and Kaguya Ōtsutsuki's body to complete the final piece of the puzzle.
He quietly stepped back and watched the reunion between Obito and Rin with a gentle smile, like a supportive comrade rather than a manipulative mastermind.
Of course Gakuya had to bring Rin back. If he wanted to revive Obito, Rin was a necessity. Without her, he wouldn't trust Obito to stay in line.
But with Rin alive, Obito wouldn't dare act rashly.
He wouldn't gamble. Not when Gakuya could erase Rin again if betrayed.
Obito would never risk letting the woman he loved die a second time.
As for running off with Rin and living as fugitives? He wouldn't dare. Where would they even run?
Obito had seen what Gakuya was capable of. In the shinobi world, if Gakuya wanted someone dead, no one could stop him.
And this was Gakuya's own created world—how could Obito take Rin and escape?
No, obedience was the only path forward.
