Awakened: SSS Ranked Soul king

Chapter 160: Untitled

"Mind your business Suzan, it is not for you to decide what will woo who!!" The knight in padded armor sneered viciously looking at his little sister from the sides of his eyes.

That little shit head sister of his was beyond annoying. Who said he was trying to woo the burning witch? They were just acquaintances and even if he wanted to woo her, did he need others to tell him how to go about it?

"Meh, you couldn't even woo that booze tramp Windle, forget the men. Your game sucks" the young girl mocked once more but this time a look of playfulness appeared in her eyes as she stuck her tongue out.

Few years ago, a group of slayers had set foot in the stronghold and took it by storm. They were a rag tag bunch, each relatively unknown, but every single one was a monster amongst men.

They quickly made a name for themselves serving as flag bearers for a myriad of groups in the city. From start to date they hadn't failed to conquer a hoarde without needing reinforcements.

They were called the cohort of the silver flame….and the leader was who windle had coincidentally fallen in love with.

"Go away, I'm busy" Windle sneered at his little sister and walked off the edge of the wall before suddenly gliding into the air and pushing forwards in her very eyes.

"Hmm show off"

Nighttime,

"This is a good place, don't you think kid?" The old devil said seated opposite Guilliman with a fire infront of them.

They were currently infront of a large mansion building in an estate within kongshi city. This was one of the more prominent estates, even had security roaming the streets, it wasn't something a common merchant could normally afford.

It seemed to them that, this random merchant was much more connected than it looked on the outside.

"It is….how can he even afford this?" Guilliman was a bit skeptical. The old man had risked his life for his box of gold earlier today which in retrospect wasn't that valuable, but the same person could afford such luxury? It was very strange.

"Ehhh who are we to judge another man? We are just men ourselves" the old devil responded quickly cutting the discussion off.

There was definitely something hidden about the merchant, but it wasn't in their place to question. Not at all.

"Here's some clothes you can change into when you feel like, it use to belong to my brother…." The merchant exited the front door of the mansion and handed some clothes to them.

"I apologize for the inconvenience" he added feeling a embarrassed.

He owned sure a large estate, but he didn't have much control over it. He could only let a few people in and none of them could enter the mansion with him. It was a bit disheartening but nevertheless something he couldn't control.

"Not to worry, the shack isn't all bad. We've stayed in worse" Guilliman responded with a strange smile.

There was another building right behind him, although Guilliman called it a shack, it was anything but. It was a simple cottage with a chimney and this fireplace was an extension of it.

The old merchant was probably so rich that he thought this place of his was nothing pleasing to the eyes. Meanwhile it looked very comfortable.

"Ehh it's good, but if you want to make it more welcoming you…" the old devil stood up as a skewed smiled appeared on his face.

He was very skilled at sucking off funding from his superiors, and one thing he knew was that once they feel guilty, the sky was the limit. He was going to such this old merchant dry.

Meanwhile, Guilliman could only watch and shake his head. It was a new place, a new time. He had plans….but they had to wait….they had to wait for tomorrow.

And so tomorrow came and Guilliman left the mansion at dawn walking towards the city's center.

"Hello, please can you point me to where I can renew my slayer license?" Guilliman approached a random bystander and asked in a calm tone.

"Ehn? Slayer license renewal? That's what I'm doing also" a young man with a rather gloomy expression on his face replied.

He seemed like he didn't want to be anywhere near here, frustration painted all over him.

"Ehnn okay can you point the way then?" Guilliman asked with a blank look on his face.

"Do I really have to? I mean it's such a hassle" the young man responded looking at Guilliman with a pleading look.

From start to now, Guilliman couldn't tell what was up with this guy. He looked to be affluencial, flamboyant hair, clothes lined with rare metallic patches, and a glamor in his eyes.

However, dispite all this he looked very miserable right now. As if he was being forced to commit an atrocity.

"Uhhh, i don't know? This is very strange" Guilliman responded bluntly. He just wanted to renew his slayer license so he could have access to important information in the city so he could find the people he was looking for.

This was like a random occurrence that in all honesty should'nt be taking as much time as it was.

"Sigh, you could never understand." The young man rubbed his temples with frustration then turned around.

"Follow me" he added taking large strides towards a pub not to far away.

Before Guilliman could even make sense of it, he was suddenly assaulted with the strench of heavy alcohol the likes that nearly made him vomit.

This was saying a lot, he had been around a lot of booze these past few years. But this….had a particular strench to it.

"Eric, i already warned you not to come back here until you're willing to pass the test fully, no half hearted performance would make me give you a license you pig head"

All of a sudden from the counter, a muscular man pointed at both Guilliman and the youth aggressively a look of annoyance on his face.

Though it was mainly aimed at the young man.
