Chapter 247: The Forgotten Eyes
Daniel placed one hand on each of them and activated [Forgotten Eyes] without hesitation.
Suddenly, the pupils in his eyes disappeared completely and turned fully white. The only thing left in his eyes was a milky white liquid.
His vision split into two. One side was watching Pride's memories, and the other side was seeing Azrak's.
He saw their memories from the moment they entered the second floor. After Daniel left, everything remained calm for a while.
His sister and Tiana knew that he had left guardians to protect them, so they kept calling for Pride and Azrak. In the end, the two Fallen had no choice but to respond.
It turned out the girls wanted to continue their training. Sooner or later, they would have to move to the capital, and they couldn't stay weak forever, right?
Pride and Azrak weren't sure what to do. They first tried to contact Daniel through mental communication to ask him.
But to their surprise, they couldn't.
'Could this be one of the tower's features? When you enter it, all connections to the outside are cut off.' Daniel thought as he watched it all unfold.
From one perspective, it made sense. He had heard that none of the communication items worked inside the tower floors, but he didn't expect that to apply to his mental link with the Fallen too.
After that, the two Fallen listened to the girls' requests and trained them. They didn't just teach them combat techniques and various skills, but also the weaknesses of sword users and spear users.
They taught them how to defend themselves and how to escape from life-and-death situations.
Daniel was satisfied with the training they received. He could see how much stronger his sisters had become. In terms of raw combat power, they could now match a high-rank E.
In the memories he saw, everything was going normally. The girls spent half the day training and the other half with Liana.
Until the timeline reached three days ago—the day they suddenly disappeared.
Daniel focused intensely so he wouldn't miss anything.
Everything was normal until noon... until the sky suddenly turned red. Cracks began to form all across the sky.
A dimensional break!
Tiana and Alice realized what was happening and remembered what to do in such a situation—they had to get to the shelter as fast as possible.
Thankfully, this time his sister didn't do anything stupid like trying to fight the Corruption Beasts.
But just as they were about to leave, a terrifying power sealed off the entire settlement. And that wasn't all—it was like the flow of time itself had been frozen.
Nothing and no one could move—except those three.
'What happened?' Daniel frowned deeply. How could time itself stop?
The Fallen sensed something was wrong and appeared to protect his mother and sisters.
And that's when it happened… the sky suddenly split open, and a figure came out. A man who looked to be in his mid-thirties, dressed in a suit, with a handsome face.
His hands were clasped behind his back, and he gazed down at Daniel's family like a god from above.
Daniel could feel the terror in his sisters and mother just by seeing their expressions in the memories.
Even the Fallen were so terrified they didn't dare move or do anything.
The man waved his hand, and Daniel's family was instantly imprisoned in some kind of cube. No matter how much they screamed or begged for help, it was useless.
The Fallen finally overcame their fear and attacked the man. But the man just gave them a cold look and said one simple sentence:
"Oh? A kind of summon? I can feel your attachment and link to that bastard... I don't like it," and he moved his index finger.
With just a motion of his finger, the threads of fate and karma seemed to be severed and erased on the spot.
The thin thread of fate that linked Pride and Azrak to Daniel as his Fallen was instantly cut and vanished.
After that, the two fell into absolute shock and emptiness. They were no longer Corruption Beasts nor Fallen. They were nothing—because the lines of fate that defined their existence had been erased.
Even Daniel felt the horror of what that man did. His own face filled with fear just from watching.
What kind of power was that?
Afterward, the man re-entered the sky rift and disappeared. And everything returned to normal.
When things went back to normal, people saw Azrak and Pride and panicked, thinking they were monsters, and attacked them.
The two ran away, trying to escape the town. More precisely, it seemed like they were trying to return to their true home.
But as they left the town, they encountered Corruption Beasts that had emerged from the dimensional break.
They lost. Pride even lost his hand. The monsters captured them and brought them to their nest.
Everything that happened after that was obvious—the Queen turned them into Corruption Beasts.
The memories ended, and Daniel's eyes returned to normal. But sweat was dripping down from his entire body.
Just thinking about what that man had done was terrifying. What kind of power was that?
"Even though he was powerful, he was still weaker than the Prophet and that woman… probably rank S?" He thought about the man's facial features.
They looked somewhat familiar. Like he had seen him somewhere before... or at least someone who resembled him.
"That's right... he looked like Aron. Just like an older version of him." Daniel frowned. A suspicion came to his mind about who that man was.
"Kaelos, leader of the Scyronblade Guild." His frown deepened.
Why would that man kidnap his family? They had never met. There was no grudge between them.
"Unless… he found out that I killed his son."
But the question was, how?
He killed Aron inside the tower. No one should know it was him… but thinking deeper, maybe it was possible.
After all, there were plenty of powerful items and treasures in the world. It wouldn't be strange if one of them could reveal his identity.
A sharp headache struck him. So now his family was being held hostage by a rank S?
What the hell was he supposed to do?
Just like in rank B where one's dimensional level increases, something similar happens at rank S—but the difference is vast and indescribable.
Just from seeing what Kaelos did, it was obvious how powerful he was. Daniel had no chance of defeating him… at least not right now.
"Maybe I should ask for help." He stood up. Now that he knew his family was in the capital, he had to head there as soon as possible.
In his current state, he could only rely on others. Of course, he had a few plans of his own—but he needed to think more carefully about them.
As for the Queen? Naturally, he would leave that to August. Daniel could vaguely sense how strong that monster was—likely around August's level, or even beyond.
In his current condition, he definitely didn't want to face a monster like that.
But before leaving, he didn't forget to create his new Fallen.
What he didn't know was that while he was working on creating his new Fallen, a pair of blood-red eyes was staring at him.
The Queen had awakened.
