Chapter 328: Dangerous Situation For Daniel
"Don't jump to conclusions so quickly, human," Rynor said angrily as he stood up and activated [Ancient Winds Dance].
Magical winds filled the hall, and his arrows swirled like invisible birds in the air—unpredictable and deadly.
A cold breeze made the crystals tremble, and the arrows attacked Daniel from impossible angles.
Daniel used the [Temporal Cycle Aspect of Moon Law] to slow time for a moment, predicted the arrows' trajectories, and immersed himself in the crystal shadows with [Bloody Shadow Dance].
He suddenly appeared behind Rynor and charged his blade with [Death Energy].
Heavens Honor glowed with a black-and-silver aura, and it struck Rynor's armor, leaving a deep wound across his side.
Rynor cried out and leapt back, responding with [Burnt Forest Melody].
An eerie sound filled the hall, planting illusions of burning forests and collapsing trees in Daniel's mind—a psychic assault.
It began showing scenes Daniel most hated to see or experience.
Daniel broke free with the [Spiritual Aspect of Moon Law] and counterattacked with [Eyes of Destruction].
His eyes shone like two black-and-red suns, shooting deadly beams of destruction toward Rynor, as if death itself burst from his gaze.
The crystal walls cracked, and the hall trembled in light and darkness.
Rynor defended with [Shield of Eternal Leaves], but the beams pierced the shield and injured his shoulder.
Daniel also had a superficial wound from the Moonwoven Arrows on his arm, which he healed quickly with [Mana Healing].
"Damn, why is this human so strong?" Rynor cursed.
He had fought many humans at the same rank and never lost to any—but this masked man? He was on a completely different level.
In fact, he seemed like the king of the monster league. Where did such a person come from? And how had that Dark Elf girl become friends with such a monster?
'At this rate, victory won't be easy... I might have to use it,' he thought.
Then he attacked with [Bloodstorm Arrows].
A storm of red-and-silver arrows burst from his bow, each arrow energized with bloody wounds from Daniel. The arrows filled the hall like a rain of death, crushing the crystal floor and walls under their pressure.
Daniel defended with [Demonic Twilight Shield].
A shield of demonic energy formed around him, repelling the arrows and reflecting their energy back into his body.
He countered with [Strike of Destruction].
Heavens Honor gleamed with a colossal aura of black-and-white destruction, as if death and moonlight had joined in a devastating dance.
The blow struck Rynor with divine force, sending a wave of deathly energy through the hall and slamming him into the wall. A deep wound appeared across his chest.
However, his wounds began to heal automatically—naturally, a being blessed by the World Tree would not be easy to kill.
Then he attacked again with [Moonwoven Arrows].
Silvery arrows like radiant meteors surged toward Daniel, one scratching across his shoulder.
Daniel healed the wound with [Mana Healing] and used the [Gravitational Aspect of Moon Law] to hurl Rynor toward the ceiling. He launched his final assault with [Eyes of Destruction].
His eyes shone like gates to death, and black-and-red beams of pure destruction blasted Rynor, shattering the crystal wall behind him and leaving a deep gash on his other arm.
Rynor barely defended with [Shield of Eternal Leaves], but his breath became labored.
Seeing his enemy finally faltering, Daniel seized the moment and used the [Lunar Light Aspect of Moon Law], filling the hall with silver light that scattered Rynor's arrows.
Rynor responded with [Burnt Forest Melody] to create another illusion, but Daniel neutralized it with the [Spiritual Aspect of Moon Law].
The battle ended in a stalemate. The crystal hall was filled with cracks and silver blood.
Daniel, wounded on his arm and shoulder, and Rynor, wounded across his chest and arms, stared at one another.
"You're not bad, General. You're actually stronger than the previous elf I fought," Daniel said, offering a faint smile.
Rynor narrowed his eyes and replied, "And you can't defeat elves, human."
Suddenly, Rynor pulled a small glass vial from his armor, filled with a golden, glowing liquid—the sap of the World Tree. He brought the vial to his lips and drank it.
The golden liquid flowed like living light through his body, his wounds glowed, and a divine aura surrounded him.
His eyes shone like green suns, and his bow released a deathly resonance, as if boundless power had awakened within him.
The crystal hall fell into a deathly silence, and Daniel—sword in hand—offered only a bitter smile.
Why did this always happen? Every time he was close to winning, his enemies suddenly gained some kind of power-up.
"It's time to finish this, human," Rynor growled coldly. When the Council had assigned him this mission, they had given him a vial containing a single drop of World Tree sap to ensure his survival.
He hadn't expected to be forced to use it in a situation like this—but there was no other choice.
[Bloodroot Arrows]
Green and crimson arrows burst from the Sunlight Bow, twisting in the air like living roots.
They rushed toward Daniel, cracking the crystalline ground and trying to wrap around his legs, as if trying to suck out his mana and life force.
Daniel dodged by immersing himself in the shadows with [Bloody Shadow Dance]. He counterattacked with [Strike of Destruction].
Heavens Honor glowed with black-and-white destruction, as if death and the moon had united within the blade.
A powerful strike shattered the roots and sent a wave of death energy toward Rynor—but he dodged with agility.
Rynor retaliated with [Bladeleaf Dance].
Sharp magical leaves spun like a storm of green blades through the hall, scratching the crystal walls and surrounding Daniel from every direction.
Daniel defended with [Demonic Twilight Shield]; the black-and-silver shield deflected the leaves and returned their energy to Rynor.
But Rynor vanished with [Hunter's Forest Shadow].
He became invisible within the forest shadows, and arrows fired from the darkness toward Daniel. Although Daniel managed to destroy most of them, two found their mark—one of them severed his arm.
His arm hit the ground, and blood sprayed like a fountain.
Rynor burst into laughter at the sight and launched another attack—this time aiming directly for Daniel's head.
Still, something happened that he hadn't expected—his arm rapidly regenerated, and a new one grew in its place.
Daniel dodged the new arrows that were fired at him.
Rynor followed up with [Wall of the Eternal Forest].
Roots and magical branches erupted from the ground like a living forest, filling the hall. A wall of green and black formed around Daniel, trying to trap him and crushing the crystal pillars in its path.
Daniel responded with [Aspect of the Lunar Law: Gravity], increasing the gravitational force and shattering the wall. But Rynor healed his wounds using [Breath of Wild Life].
A green aura glowed around Rynor, his wounds closed up, and his fists surged toward Daniel with twice the power—as if nature itself was strengthening him.
Rynor took aim with an arrow from [Bloodroot Arrows], targeting Daniel. The shot struck him in the chest, slamming him into the crystal wall with a cry of pain.
Blood poured from his chest, and for a moment, it seemed like his heart had stopped beating. The hall fell into a deadly silence, as if Daniel had truly died.
