Chapter 329: A Worthy Body For Parasite
Contrary to what it looked like, he was still alive. How could such an attack really kill him that easily?
He quickly healed using [Mana Healing], jumped up, and countered with [Eyes of Destruction].
His eyes shone like gates to death, beams of black and red light struck Rynor like a storm of pure annihilation. The crystal wall shattered, and a deep wound was left on Rynor's arm.
Rynor responded with [Roar of the World Tree].
A wild scream shook the hall, the vibrations split the ground, and Daniel's mind was thrown into chaos, as if the ancient forest itself had risen against him.
Daniel responded with [Death Roar].
The black scream disrupted Rynor's mind, but Rynor retaliated with [Storm of Life and Death].
A storm of green branches and black roots filled the hall, trapping Daniel in a cycle of life and death. The branches tore at his body, and he dropped to the ground again, as if dead.
But Daniel stood up with [Burning Mana Armor].
Red and black armor formed around him, like a living flame carrying death and the moon within it. He healed his wounds with [Mana Healing] again and laughed.
"Old man, you'll have to try harder than that!"
Rynor growled and attacked again with a combo of [Bloodroot Arrows] and [Dance of Bladed Leaves].
The arrows and sharp leaves filled the hall like a green and crimson storm, breaking through the crystals and surrounding Daniel from all sides.
Daniel dodged through the shadows using [Bloody Shadow Dance] and slowed time with [Aspect of the Moon Law: Cycle of Time] to escape the storm.
But one Bloodroot Arrow hit his leg, and he collapsed again, his blood staining the floor.
For a moment, it looked like Daniel wasn't moving, as if death had taken him.
But he stood up once again using [Mana Healing], and seeing the danger, decided to go all in.
He whispered, "Alright, General. Let's finish this."
He activated [Eternal Judgment] with all his power, drawing on mana essence, life essence, death energy, the moon law, and even the power of the Fallen.
Blood flowed from his body and spun in the air, forming a giant blood-red sword in the sky, as if the moon and death had merged into one.
An aura of silver light, black darkness, and red-white flames filled the hall.
The shadows of the Fallen—warriors with hollow eyes—appeared around the sword. A godlike vibration shook the hall's crystals. The sword descended toward Rynor with destructive force.
Rynor tried to defend with [Wall of the Eternal Forest] and [Shield of Eternal Leaves], but the blood sword shattered both.
The explosion of light and darkness swallowed the hall. Crystals shattered, and Rynor was slammed into the wall with a deep wound in his chest.
Rynor fell to the ground, blood pouring from his body, and his bow cracked.
Daniel, breathing heavily but still standing, healed his wounds with [Mana Healing] and smiled.
"I told you, you can't take me down, General."
Even so, the elf said nothing. He hadn't expected that even with the sap of the World Tree, he wouldn't be able to defeat this human.
Of course, it wasn't pure sap—it had been diluted thousands of times so his body could handle it.
Still, how could he not be able to handle a human?
"If you're going to kill me, just do it. But even with my death, nothing changes. The Council will just send more after that Dark Elf," he growled, looking at the man in front of him.
But upon hearing that, Daniel just started laughing, as if he had heard the dumbest sentence of his life.
"Kill you? Why would I kill you?" he asked with a smirk. Killing this elf had no benefit for him.
Even if he killed him, he couldn't turn him into a Fallen.
The last time he tried to turn an elf into a Fallen, it had completely failed.
Elves blessed by the World Tree can't be turned into Fallen.
So only one option remained—take control of this elf through other means.
"What are you going to do?" For some reason, a dreadful feeling suddenly crept into Rynor's heart.
He could feel that this human had dark plans for him.
Daniel didn't reply. Instead, he brought out the only Fallen still inside his spiritual sea.
A long, black-purple parasite appeared in his hand, as long as a crescent moon. Naturally, it was none other than the parasitic will he had found in the Temple of the Eternal Moon.
"What the hell is that—" Rynor tried to scream, but the parasite lunged and entered his body through his nose and mouth.
It didn't take long before his eyes glowed completely black for a moment, then returned to normal—well, not entirely.
"Hail the Lord," Rynor kneeled before Daniel.
"You wanted a worthy body, didn't you? Well, here it is. The body of one of the seventy-two generals of the elven civilization," Daniel grinned.
Since he couldn't turn the elf into a Fallen, he would just take over his body.
Besides, he had many plans. Now that he controlled one of the seventy-two generals of the elves, he could infiltrate them directly.
Also, this parasitic will had a skill that could control the wills of other beings too, meaning he could slowly turn all the elven officials into his obedient dogs.
"My Lord, what should I do now?" Rynor looked up and asked.
"First, we deal with those Golden Tooth bandits. I didn't notice it earlier, but I think that host is actually a Half Step S Rank. With your help, we should be able to beat him," Daniel said after a moment of thought.
Without delay, they left the hall and headed to where the other Fallen and Serys were still fighting.
As soon as they arrived, Daniel frowned a little at the sight.
The Fallen were fighting against eleven A-Ranks, but fortunately, they weren't in a bad position.
After all, the Fallen can't die. As long as Daniel was alive and had mana, they could keep respawning.
So they could fight endlessly. Even if there were eleven A-Ranks, it wasn't enough to truly deal with his Fallen.
As for Serys… she was fighting the velkan, and her condition didn't look good at all.
In fact, it looked like she was getting beat down one-sidedly.
