Chapter 331: Attacking With All Might
Serys and Daniel frowned when they heard his words. That person's plan? The same spy they were after?
And besides, they noticed the respectful tone this bastard used when he said "that person."
"Oh? Looks like I've made you curious. Sorry, but you'll never find out who that person is — not even after your death." Velkan laughed as he saw their faces, and this time, he attacked first.
[Dance of Blazing Swords]
Flaming swords appeared in the air, like fiery spirits attacking from all directions. The sky burned, and the ground turned into molten rock.
Rynor defended with [Wall of the Eternal Forest].
Magical roots and branches rose from the earth like a living forest, deflecting the swords, but the flames burned them.
Serys tried with [Origin Link].
A pure spell targeting Velkan's fire laws, weakening the flames for a moment, but Velkan easily resisted it.
Daniel decided to apply mental pressure and unleashed [Death Roar].
The black roar disrupted Velkan's mind, like death whispering into his ear, but he vanished using [Flame Shadow].
"You're too weak for mental attacks. Better give up on that," he said mockingly to Daniel.
People at his level are well aware of the dangers of mental attacks and do everything possible to create a defense against them.
Then, cloaked in a black flame aura, he vanished. A hammer made of molten lava appeared in his hand, and with [Worldbreaker Eruption], he smashed the ground.
Lava and flaming stones filled the courtyard, and the three of them were thrown back as if they were already dead.
Daniel stood up with [Mana Healing] and [Burning Moon Armor]. Serys survived with [Balance Shield], and Rynor recovered with [Breath of Wild Life].
But none of them were in good shape. Serys's mana was almost gone, and if this kept up, she wouldn't be able to continue.
For Rynor, it was even worse. He was just a parasitic will that had taken control of this body minutes ago. Naturally, he couldn't access all of its power.
And things weren't that simple — he could feel the body was rejecting him, and he still hadn't fully taken control.
Most likely because of the blessing of the World Tree, which was doing everything it could to push him out.
"You're nothing but ants under my feet!" Velkan laughed when he saw their condition.
This time, none of them answered — not even Daniel. He was more focused on analyzing everyone during the fight to learn more about them.
Even though he said to fight with full power, he hadn't used his own full strength yet and was hiding a lot.
Still, it wasn't intentional. Naturally, when the time came, he would go all out. But first, he wanted to use the opportunity to analyze Serys.
Just as he thought — this girl really was cultivating the Law of Origin. Even though it wasn't one of the Seven Supreme Laws, it was close in power.
Still, as he'd said before, cultivating such a law required a source that contained the power of all laws.
But did such a source really exist? Now he was curious to see it himself. Of course, he wasn't such a bastard to try to steal it from his friend.
But even just seeing that kind of source might help him a lot.
The three attacked again. Rynor used [Devastating Forest Storm].
A storm of green branches and black roots trapped Velkan, shaking the ground and shattering crystals.
Serys followed with [Origin Destruction Wave].
A wave of pure energy tore through Velkan's fire laws, lighting up the courtyard and leaving a deep wound in his chest.
Daniel slowed time with [Aspect of the Moon's Time Cycle] and attacked with [Crimson Judgment].
Few massive bloody swords formed in the sky, radiating silver light, black darkness, and red-white flames.
and the divine strikes hit Velkan, cracking the ground and leaving a deep wound on his arm.
He tried to use at least 90% of his power in that attack, and it was enough to bring him to his knees.
But against a Half Step Divine Climber, it still wasn't enough.
Velkan responded with [Burning Sunlight].
A massive explosion of solar flames engulfed the space, turning the crystals to ash and slamming all three into the ground.
The light and heat were so intense, it felt like they were all burning alive. Daniel, Serys, and Rynor lay motionless on the ground, like corpses.
Serys let out a cry of terror. Her skin was burning, all her defensive layers completely falling apart. She tried everything to stop the spread, but it was useless.
Though for Rynor, it didn't matter much. He was a parasitic will, and pain meant something different to him. Even if he died, he'd just leave the body. Plus, he was one of the Fallen — death couldn't truly kill him.
It was the same for Daniel. With everything he'd experienced, pain didn't really mean anything anymore. In fact, right now, death was his only path to victory.
He stood up. His Burning Moon Armor was cracked but still active. He gathered all his power — but before using it, he had to weaken this bastard.
Mana essence, life essence, death energy, the Law of the Moon, and the power of the Fallen — he activated [Eternal Judgment] at full power.
His body was consumed by light and darkness, blood poured from him, and a sword even bigger than before formed in the sky. It looked like the moon and death had merged.
The shadows of the Fallen gathered like an army of spirits, and space vibrated with terrifying force. Daniel roared,
"This one's my gift!" and the sword slammed into Velkan, smashing him into the ground and engulfing him in an explosion of light and darkness. Velkan was left injured, but still alive.
"You fucking bastard, I'll kill you!" His body was badly damaged, and worse — death energy had entered his body and was blocking all healing and regeneration.
For the first time since the battle began, he felt a horrifying pain. With bloodshot eyes, he looked at Daniel like he wanted to rip him apart.
But Daniel just laughed, and his body slowly fell apart. He had thrown everything into that attack and emptied his life essence.
"Nooo! Daniel!" Serys screamed in agony as she saw his death.
