Chapter 360: A Dragon
A massive, majestic figure emerged from the split sky. The gazes of all the Heavenly Kings instantly locked onto this colossal being.
The moment they saw it, their eyes widened, their breathing became labored, and they could barely control their terror.
These beings did not even need to breathe to live, yet now they felt as if they were suffocating and dying.
An overwhelming pressure crushed them down to the ground, forcing them onto their knees. They couldn't even lift their heads, and blood burst out from every orifice of their bodies.
"A dragon! What the hell is a dragon doing here?!" an ancient being from the Lionheart family said in fear.
"The last time one of them came to the human continent was more than seven hundred years ago."
"Did it come for that egg?" an ancient being from the Azure Phoenix tribe clenched her teeth.
"Something's not right… could it be!" Suddenly, the same realization hit all of them, and even killing intent leaked from their bodies.
However, in the presence of this majestic dragon, it was instantly suppressed. They understood now — all of this had been a setup! A trap against all of them.
But who would dare to do such a thing? That bastard from the Ten Thousand Treasures House? Was he not afraid of bringing a calamity upon his own house?
More importantly, none of them were even enemies with each other. They hadn't had hostile relations and hadn't even met in a very long time.
Cough cough. They all coughed up a few drops of blood. But these were not ordinary drops of blood.
Each drop contained part of their very being — each one could determine their life and death. And now, because of this dragon's presence, a few drops had been forcibly taken from their bodies and destroyed.
No one dared to speak anymore. They simply waited to see what the dragon intended to do.
The entire sky and earth were shaking. The entire human continent trembled at the same time. The top powers across the land were in shock, wondering what was happening.
"Filthy, lowly humans… you broke the treaty and stole one of our children," the dragon spoke for the first time since its arrival.
Its voice was like that of a god, covering the entire continent. It was as if the world itself was furious, everything shaking as though it was about to collapse.
Those who didn't know the truth were terrified, thinking the end of the world had come. They knelt toward the heavens, begging for forgiveness.
"We didn't know it was a dragon," an ancient being from the Valenberg family said.
The dragon didn't care — it even snorted in disdain. That snort caused the body of the Valenberg ancient to explode into ashes.
Even though it was only a spiritual body, its will was also destroyed. This would deal an irreparable injury to its soul.
The dragon ignored all of them and turned its gaze toward where it felt the presence of a baby dragon. But upon seeing it, it frowned slightly.
The baby dragon it had come here for was in the arms of a human — and it seemed comfortable and happy?
There was a legend that beasts recognize the first being they see as their parent, but for dragons, it was different.
Dragons only recognized someone as a parent if that being had at least a bloodline equal to theirs. That was why no human had ever been able to establish a good relationship with dragons.
How could a human possibly have a bloodline equal to a dragon's? And not just any dragon — a chaos dragon, like the one now resting in that human's arms!
No bloodline in the world should be as powerful as that one. So what was going on? How had this baby dragon acknowledged a human?
The dragon frowned and examined the human's body. But when it checked the blood flowing within, its frown turned to fear.
What it saw in that human's body should have been erased tens or hundreds of thousands of years ago! How could it still exist? This was a taboo!
Everyone feared the dragon, yet the dragon now feared what it had just discovered within the human — a fear greater than any fear, the embodiment of destruction and annihilation… the apocalypse.
It wanted to take both the baby dragon and the human back to its clan, but it hesitated. It didn't dare.
Even though the human seemed completely weak, what if he was hiding his true power? After all, there was no way someone with that blood could be weak.
'I have to inform the elders,' it thought. Then its dreadful purple eyes fell upon the spiritual bodies of the Heavenly Kings.
These were just spiritual bodies containing only ten percent of their real power. If their true bodies were here, even for the dragon, it would have been troublesome.
Still, these trash had tried to buy a dragon egg. That was an unforgivable crime.
Its eyes glowed, and all the spiritual bodies of the ancient beings were reduced to ashes.
Then, for the last time, it glanced at the baby dragon and the human, letting out a sigh. It had to report this immediately. This news could definitely bring the dragons out of their isolation and hiding.
It returned to the split sky from which it had come, and the heavens returned to normal. Although for the dragon, this was just a routine act, it had no idea what a tremendous impact its appearance would have on the human continent — and the entire world.
A dragon had finally appeared after seven hundred years, and not just any dragon, but one so powerful it could crush the spiritual bodies of the Heavenly Kings.
This would surely draw the attention of demigods from both worlds.
Meanwhile, Daniel stood frozen inside the palace. He didn't blink, didn't breathe — he looked exactly like a dead man standing.
The baby dragon didn't like this and licked Daniel's face, covering it completely in saliva.
"Huh?" A faint light returned to his eyes as his gaze fell on the baby dragon nesting on his shoulder.
But he completely ignored it and turned his eyes back toward the massive dragon that had just left through the split sky.
Had he really just seen a dragon? A living legend? And survived?
