Chapter 361: Becoming A Father
Daniel stared blankly at the baby dragon. Everything had happened so quickly that he didn't even know how to react at the moment.
Since his reincarnation, he had always heard stories about dragons. Many even worshiped them as gods, and they had always been considered a taboo.
And now, he had actually managed to see not one — but two dragons with his own eyes and even survive. One could say this was some kind of historical achievement.
He let out a sigh. His mind was so chaotic that he didn't know how to react. Should he be terrified? Shocked? Happy and excited?
He had no idea. All he wanted was to leave this place as quickly as possible before an even bigger problem arose. Without hesitation, he used Fallen Step and escaped.
As for the baby dragon, for now he just wanted to keep his distance from it.
The world around him went dark for a moment, and the next instant he found himself in a lush, green forest. Rynor was standing there, and as soon as he saw him, he bowed.
Daniel ignored him, sighed again, and tried to calm his mind. Only with a calm mind could he analyze the situation.
"Um, my lord… what is that thing on your shoulder?" Rynor suddenly asked in confusion.
"Hah? What do you—" Daniel frowned and glanced at his shoulder, only to see the baby dragon sitting there.
"Damn it, how did you get here?" He wanted to cry but had no tears.
The baby dragon didn't answer. It just looked at him with those beautiful eyes, confused, as if it didn't understand what he was saying.
Daniel picked it up from his shoulder, held it in front of his eyes, sighed again, and let it go.
The baby dragon flapped its wings, flew in the air, and immediately returned to his shoulder. He could only ignore it and try to organize his thoughts.
"It looks like it's recognized me as its parent, and I doubt it'll leave me for now," he muttered to himself.
However, there was no sign of worry or fear in his eyes. In fact, on second thought, maybe it wasn't such a problem.
After all, the dragon had appeared, destroyed the spiritual bodies of all those Heavenly Kings, and left nothing of them behind. Most likely, everyone thought the dragon had taken the baby dragon with it, so no one would suspect him.
Still, there were two problems here. Why didn't the dragon take the baby dragon with it? Why did it leave it with him? It didn't make any sense.
From what he saw, that dragon definitely came here for the baby dragon, yet in the end, it left without taking it.
There had to be a specific reason, but with his limited knowledge, he couldn't deduce or reason anything.
The second problem was whether those Heavenly Kings might use treasures or items to track the baby dragon's location, or check through a Destiny Mirror to see if the dragon had really taken it away.
That seemed unlikely, the chances were very low, but still… it was possible. Even if the chance was tiny, it still existed.
He didn't want something like Kaelos to happen again — not until he had the strength to deal with it.
"Their spiritual bodies were destroyed by a dragon. It must have harmed their real bodies or souls as well. For a while, there shouldn't be any issues," he reasoned.
That dragon definitely intended to punish those bastards, and it wouldn't have simply been satisfied with destroying their spiritual bodies. He was sure of that.
Besides, even if he wanted to, he doubted this baby dragon would leave him for now. So, it wasn't like he had much of a choice.
"Looks like we'll be together for a while, little one," he sighed again and glanced at the baby dragon.
Hearing his words, joy appeared in the baby dragon's eyes. It clearly understood everything Daniel had been saying all this time.
"Well, I need to give you a name. How about Fino?" he thought for a moment and then said.
The baby dragon shook its head. Obviously, as a superior being, how could it accept a name like Fino?
"It's a good name. At least for now, it'll do. Later, when you grow older, we can add a better one, okay?" Daniel smiled. He didn't have the patience to think of another name.
The baby dragon didn't answer immediately. It seemed to think for a moment, then reluctantly nodded its head in agreement.
"Good, that proves you're a good kid," Daniel chuckled and patted the baby dragon's head — something the little dragon seemed to love.
After that, he pulled out his communication talisman and contacted Andreas to find out about their situation.
He planned to stay with Andreas for a while and resolve the problems that were preventing him from becoming the heir of his family.
It wasn't that difficult, actually. He was sure the matter could be solved in a few weeks or at most one or two months. But first, he needed to hear about his family's current situation.
Andreas answered, and it turned out that they, along with Ilaris and a representative sent by his father, had gone to one of the cities near the Azure Phoenix City.
It wasn't too close, but not too far either. Its position had allowed them to survive the disaster unharmed.
Daniel cut off the connection and was about to fly there. According to Andreas' explanation, it would be about a two-hour flight.
However, before he could take off, he suddenly noticed a problem. He turned and looked at the baby dragon hovering behind him in the air.
He didn't care how this baby dragon could already fly on the very day it was born… the problem was, what should he do about its appearance? Anyone could tell it was a baby dragon.
"What should I do about your appearance?" Daniel sighed.
