Becoming the Strongest as a Game Dev

Chapter 68: Chapter 68

Sam starts creating the Gates of Hell, Rodin's bar and a crucial location in the Bayonetta simulation. He sculpts the interior, imbuing the space with an air of mystery and danger. The walls are adorned with demonic insignias, while the shelves behind the counter brim with bottles of otherworldly liquor, their contents glowing faintly.

Sam places a jukebox in the corner, its smooth jazz and blues tracks adding to the bar's captivating atmosphere. As the final piece of the puzzle, he positions Rodin behind the bar. The Gates of Hell is not complete without him.

Sam steps back, admiring his handiwork. The Gates of Hell has come to life, exuding an aura of mystery and danger. He nods, satisfied with his creation.

"This place has the perfect vibe," Sam says, a hint of pride in his voice.

Sam looks to Yuna, who is still making Bayonetta and Jeanne.

"How's the progress on those characters?" he asks.

"Almost done, actually." She gestures to the two sculpted figures before her. "Take a look."

Bayonetta stands tall, her jet-black hair cascading down her lithe, statuesque form. Her piercing silver eyes and sharp facial features exude an aura of danger and mystery. Adorned in a sleek black bodysuit with intricate silver filigree, she cuts an imposing figure.

Beside her, Jeanne's long, silvery-white hair flows elegantly, framed by a delicate red headpiece. Her crimson-red bodysuit highlights her athletic build, and a flowing cape trails behind her, adding to her regal presence.

Sam looks at the finished Bayonetta and Jeanne, and they look almost, if not better than he remembers in his previous life. He is glad he left the task of making Bayonetta and Jeanne to Yuna.

"Great job, Yuna. They turned out better than I could make them." He gives a thumbs up.

Yuna beams, pleased with her work. "Hehe~ Thank you, Sam." She sets down her tools, admiring the two Umbra Witches side by side.

"Shall we now create their movements?"

"Yes!"

Sam and Yuna attempt to create the movements for Bayonetta, but they struggle with the task. Bayonetta's movements are like intricate dances and theatrical performances, which Sam and Yuna lack experience in replicating.

Sam didn't run into this problem with this situation when making Dante because looking badass is Dante's forte, and Sam had a bit of a chuuni phase when he was young, which he wants to forget.

Sam scratched his head, pondering their predicament. "Hmm... this isn't working out as expected..."

"Yeah, who knew adding dances to a fighting style would be more difficult." She tapped her chin, studying the frozen models of Bayonetta and Jeanne. "Maybe we need to approach this from a different angle."

The two developers exchange a look, their minds racing to find a solution to the challenge before them. They try different movements, but none seem to be perfect for what they envision.

Sam sighs, running a hand through his hair in frustration.

"Nothing fits, let's take a break. Our Mana is almost running out anyway."

Yuna nods in agreement, "Seems like it."

With a few taps on the interface, Sam and Yuna end the simulation, and their consciousness returns to their physical bodies. They take a moment to catch their breath, both pondering the challenge that lies ahead.

Sam and Yuna spent a lot of time working on the simulation, not noticing it was almost dark out.

Sam feels his stomach rumbling. "Want to get dinner?"

"Sure, there's a nice diner a few blocks away."

They exit the SimQuest building, and their bodyguards, Jake and Marcus, are waiting for them. The towering men, each standing over 6.5 feet tall and built like bodybuilders, approach the developers. Jake has a head of vibrant red hair, while Marcus sports blue locks.

Sam waves at the guards. "Yo! Jake, Marcus. Thanks for waiting for us. Want to join us for dinner?"

Jake shakes his head. "No, thank you, Mr. Briar. But we will be coming with you if you need protection."

"You know I said you don't have to be so stiff with me," Sam chuckles. "Come on, join us for a change."

Marcus remains stoic. "I can't when I'm still on duty."

Sam sighs. "Fine..." He turns to Yuna. "Shall we?"

Yuna nods, and the four of them make their way down the street towards the diner, the bodyguards trailing behind the developers.

Sam and Yuna enter the diner, the warm, inviting atmosphere a welcome change from the intensity of their simulation work. They're greeted by a friendly waitress who leads them to a cozy booth in the corner.

Jake and Marcus stand outside the diner, their imposing frames a stark contrast to the cozy establishment. Sam and Yuna slide into the booth, sharing a look.

"Having bodyguards is still so weird for me," Sam admits, running a hand through his hair. "I mean, I've never had someone constantly watching my back before."

Yuna nods in agreement, her brow furrowed. "I know what you mean. It's going to take some getting used to, that's for sure." She glances out the window at the two guards. "I don't think I'll ever be completely comfortable with it."

The waitress returns, handing them menus. "Can I get you two started with some drinks?"

"I'll have a hot tea, please," Yuna replies.

"And I'll have a coffee, black," Sam says.

As the waitress departs, Yuna turns her attention back to Sam. "Do you have any ideas on how we can tackle the movement problem?"

"""No, we will find a solution next time. For now, we can focus on the other aspects of the simulation."

"Alright."

"Can you handle making the Angels?"

"Of course! Leave them to me." She pauses. "I'll make sure they're suitably angelic... and terrifying."""

The two developers fall into an easy conversation, discussing their plans for the Bayonetta simulation. Yuna shares her ideas for the Angel designs, describing their ethereal yet unsettling appearances. Sam listens intently, offering occasional suggestions and feedback.

As they finish their drinks, the waitress returns to take their dinner order. Sam and Yuna place their requests, their discussion continuing seamlessly. The bodyguards, Jake and Marcus, remain vigilant outside, keeping a watchful eye on their charges.
