Being Overpowered in Akame ga Kill

Chapter 128: 128: The Annihilation of Wild Hunt

"It's okay, don't be afraid. What happened today won't ever happen again—I promise."

Haruki was a little surprised when Lina threw herself into his arms, but after thinking about what she'd been through, he realized it was only natural. For a delicate girl like her, that kind of trauma would shake anyone.

He gently wrapped his arms around her and softly patted her back to comfort her.

Since it was still early morning and she was at home, Lina wore no makeup. She was dressed in a pale lavender gown, her feet in dainty crystal slippers. Her long, blue-violet hair cascaded naturally down her back. From crying so much, her purple eyes were red and puffy, her tear-streaked face full of sorrow—so pitiful and beautiful that it tugged at the heart.

"Wuuu... mmm..."

Hearing Haruki's words, Lina cried even harder, sobbing as she nodded in response, her face buried in his chest.

After what happened on the Ryuusen, Lina had come to completely admire Haruki's strength. And now, hearing his promise, she knew she was safe—but she still didn't want to leave his embrace. To her, his arms felt like a refuge from the nightmare.

"Big brother, what the hell happened here?!"

Just then, Nina, Gin, Kurome, and Chelsea—who had lagged slightly behind Haruki—hurried into the room. Seeing the scorched ground left by the Hell Butterflies' barrage, they stared in confusion as they questioned him.

"Haruki! You dare do this to me? You're dead today! What are you all standing around for? Go! Kill him! Enshin, go! All these beautiful women here will be yours to play with however you like! Aghhh! It hurts! Damn it, it hurts so bad!"

Before Haruki could answer, Syura—standing on the opposite side—burst out, fuming with rage as he looked at his crippled hands. He turned and shouted furiously at the members of Wild Hunt.

In Syura's mind, even though they had lost Cosmina, there were still four Teigu Users left besides himself. Despite realizing the massive difference in strength between him and Haruki during their clash, he still foolishly believed that numbers alone could make up the gap. As for the women standing with Haruki? He didn't see them as a threat. After all, who would expect such stunning young women to be among the strongest fighters alive?

But what neither Syura nor the rest of Wild Hunt knew was that his comment—"all these beautiful women are yours"—had hit a nerve with Haruki. That one line had sealed their fate.

"Heh, perfect."

The moment Syura finished speaking, the man with the curved sword in Wild Hunt grinned eagerly. Ever since Nina and the others entered the room, his lecherous eyes had been fixed on them, full of raw desire.

His name was Enshin—a pirate who ruled the southern isles. Brutal by nature, and like Syura, he delighted in tormenting women.

Without hesitation, he charged forward, curved blade in hand. The others followed, each using their own techniques to join the assault on Haruki.

"Shhkk!"

Enshin, leading the charge, was the first to strike. He slashed through the air with his blade, sending a vacuum wave straight at Haruki at blistering speed.

This was Enshin's Teigu—Moonlight Sword Dance: Shamshir, a curved sword capable of launching vacuum blades.

"Hmph! You're dead meat!"

The girls had already had enough of Enshin's disgusting stares. Now that he dared to attack Haruki, Nina stepped forward with a cold snort. She didn't even let Haruki move.

Fixing her gaze on the incoming air blade, she kicked out with her right leg. A vacuum blade—Rankyaku—burst forth from thin air, exactly matching the size of the one flying at them, and met it head-on.

"Impossible!"

What happened next left the remaining members of Wild Hunt stunned. Though the two blades seemed identical in size, the difference in power was overwhelming. Nina's Rankyaku cleaved through Enshin's attack in an instant. In the next moment—under Enshin's horrified gaze—her air blade sliced clean through his neck.

All he managed was a confused grunt before his head, eyes wide open, hit the ground and rolled away.

A powerful and rare Teigu User—dead in a single strike.

"Damn it! How the hell are we supposed to fight this?!"

Seeing that two of their Teigu Users were already gone before the battle had even properly begun, the remaining Wild Hunt members huddled together, warily eyeing Haruki and his group.

"Hmph, cowards. Only the blood of true warriors is worthy of my Teigu."

One of them finally spoke, sneering at his teammates.

This was Izou—a swordsman obsessed with blades who constantly offered blood sacrifices to his sword, Kousetsu. A master of swordsmanship, he was one of Wild Hunt's most formidable fighters.

"Hmph, screw it. Fight or die—those are the only options."

Right as Izou finished, another man chimed in.

He wore a clown mask and looked like a joke—but that only masked his nature. His name was Champ, a twisted serial killer before he joined Wild Hunt. His Teigu, Chaos Throw: Big Leaguer, was a set of six enchanted balls, each with a different elemental property. Once thrown, they'd fly out and return like boomerangs. The balls were Storm, Explosion, Flame, Ice, Lightning, and Corrosion—each with destructive power.

Only one person remained silent—her eyes shifting restlessly, clearly lost in thought. She was the last woman in Wild Hunt: Dorothea.

Dorothea was an alchemist whose body had undergone countless modifications. Though she appeared to be a young girl, her true age was far older. She could alter the forms of others into creatures of her design. Thanks to her modifications, she possessed immense physical strength—but her actual combat skills were lacking.
