Ben 10: Rise of New Ultimates

Chapter 3: Episode 3: Crystalline Nightmare

The abandoned Plumber base was a relic of a bygone era, a testament to a time when intergalactic law enforcement operated in the shadows. Now, it was just a crumbling ruin, filled with dust and forgotten memories. Ben stood in the center of the main control room, the metallic device clutched tightly in his hand. He had spent the last few days trying to decipher its secrets, but to no avail. The symbols were unlike anything he'd ever seen, alien yet somehow familiar. "Anything?" Gwen asked, her voice echoing through the cavernous room. Ben shook his head. "Nothing. I've tried everything. Scanning it with the Ultimatrix, running it through Grandpa Max's old Plumber database… nothing." Kevin leaned against a broken console, his expression skeptical. "Maybe it's just a paperweight, Tennyson. Some alien junk that means nothing." Ben glared at him. "It's not junk, Kevin. I can feel it. There's something… important about this thing. I just need to figure out what it is." He closed his eyes, focusing his energy. He tried to connect with the device, to feel its energy, to understand its purpose. But it was like trying to grasp smoke. The device remained stubbornly silent. Suddenly, the room plunged into darkness. The emergency lights flickered to life, casting long, distorted shadows across the room. A klaxon blared, deafeningly loud. "What's happening?" Gwen shouted, her voice barely audible above the alarm. Ben activated the Ultimatrix. "Something's interfering with the power grid. We're under attack!" He slammed down on the Ultimatrix, transforming into Diamondhead, his crystalline body shimmering in the dim light. He scanned the room, his diamond eyes searching for the source of the disturbance. He spotted it – a small, shimmering portal had opened in the corner of the room, crackling with energy. And emerging from the portal, a figure made of pure crystal. It was tall and slender, with sharp, jagged edges. Its eyes glowed with an eerie light. It was another Diamondhead, but twisted and corrupted, a crystalline nightmare. The corrupted Diamondhead raised its hand, and a barrage of crystal shards erupted from the portal, hurtling towards Ben and his friends. Ben raised his arms, creating a crystalline shield to protect them. The shards shattered against the shield, showering the room with glittering fragments. "What is that thing?" Kevin shouted, dodging the falling debris. "I don't know," Ben replied, "but it's definitely not friendly." The corrupted Diamondhead lunged forward, its crystalline claws extended. Ben met its attack, engaging in a furious battle of crystal against crystal. They traded blows, the sound of shattering crystal echoing through the room. Ben realized the corrupted Diamondhead was stronger than him, its attacks faster and more powerful. He was being overwhelmed. He needed more power, more control over his crystalline abilities. He slammed the Ultimatrix again. The transformation was agonizing, his body contorting and reshaping into something even more powerful. Obsidian crystal erupted across his body, glowing energy cracks pulsing with raw power. He was Ultimate Diamondhead, a being of pure crystalline destruction. He felt the power surging through him, the ability to manipulate crystal with incredible force. He roared, unleashing a wave of crystalline energy that shattered the corrupted Diamondhead's attack. The corrupted Diamondhead stumbled back, its crystalline form cracking and splintering. Ben seized the opportunity, unleashing a barrage of diamond shards that exploded on impact, tearing through the corrupted Diamondhead's armor. The corrupted Diamondhead roared in pain, its crystalline body collapsing in on itself. It stumbled back towards the portal, desperately trying to escape. But Ben was too fast. He summoned a massive crystal storm, engulfing the corrupted Diamondhead in a swirling vortex of razor-sharp shards. The corrupted Diamondhead was torn to pieces, its crystalline form dissolving into dust. The portal flickered and died, the energy signature vanishing completely. Ben, exhausted but triumphant, reverted back to his human form. He stumbled, catching himself against a broken console. He looked around the room, surveying the damage. The Plumber base was in ruins, shattered crystal scattered everywhere. But the corrupted Diamondhead was gone. At least for now. He looked down at the metallic device in his hand. He had a feeling the corrupted Diamondhead was connected to it somehow. And he knew that whatever was happening, it was only going to get worse. Gwen stepped forward, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Are you okay, Ben?" Ben nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. But this… this is getting out of control. Someone is messing with forces they don't understand. And we need to stop them before it's too late." Kevin nodded in agreement. "So what's the plan, Tennyson?" Ben looked at the metallic device in his hand, his expression determined. "We need to find out what this thing is. And we need to find out who sent that corrupted Diamondhead. Because I have a feeling they're not going to stop until they get what they want. We are going to have to go where there is no light and no mercy…to Null Void." Ben smiled, knowing that this fight was far from over.
