Chapter 17: Chapter 17- Saying The Unsaid

Azra walked briskly down the quiet streets of the city, the evening air cool against her skin. Her mind buzzed with the events of the day, but she couldn't shake the feeling that something was different lately, especially with Yuzarsif. His presence had become more constant, his attention more focused, and while she was used to his charm, there was something deeper that she couldn't quite ignore.

She pulled out her phone as she reached her apartment building, surprised to see a message from him.

"Can we talk? I'm outside your favorite café. I've been thinking a lot, and I need to tell you something."

Her heart skipped a beat, uncertainty creeping into her mind. What could he want to say? She hesitated only for a moment before typing back.

"Okay, I'll be there in a bit."

The message was brief, but it set her thoughts spinning. She tried to push aside the nervous excitement swirling inside her, but it was no use. Yuzarsif wasn't someone who made such requests lightly, and it was clear this conversation meant something.

A few minutes later, Azra arrived at the café and spotted him sitting at a corner table. He was alone, and as she approached, his eyes met hers. There was a softness to his expression that was unfamiliar, and it caught her off guard.

"Azra," he said, standing up as she reached the table. "Thanks for coming."

She gave him a small nod, her curiosity rising. "Of course," she replied, sitting down across from him. "What's going on?"

Yuzarsif didn't immediately respond. He seemed to be gathering his thoughts, his gaze flickering briefly to the window before returning to her. There was an intensity in his eyes, something that had been missing the last time they spoke.

He took a deep breath. "I've been thinking about this for a while now, and I've realized something important." His voice was steady, but there was a vulnerability that Azra hadn't noticed before.

Azra leaned forward slightly, unsure of what to expect. "What is it?"

He exhaled slowly, his eyes locking with hers. "Azra, I can't keep pretending. The way I feel about you... it's real. I've tried to push it aside, but the truth is, I care about you more than I've let on."

Azra's heart raced. The words hung in the air between them, and she wasn't sure how to react. This was unexpected, even though part of her had already begun to sense it.

"I know I've never been someone who makes things easy," Yuzarsif continued, his voice soft but resolute. "I haven't been good at showing what I feel, but right now, I can't ignore it anymore. I care about you, Azra. More than you know."

Azra remained silent for a long moment, trying to process what he had just said. Her mind was a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions. She had always seen Yuzarsif as someone who moved from one thing to the next, someone who wasn't tied down to anything. But now, looking at him, she saw something different—something sincere.

"I didn't expect this," Azra said quietly, her gaze not leaving his. "I didn't expect you to feel this way."

Yuzarsif gave her a small, almost hesitant smile. "I didn't either, at first. But when I look at you, everything's different. I'm not asking for anything from you right now. I just needed you to know how I feel. It's not a passing thing. It's real, Azra."

Azra's heart pounded in her chest, her thoughts tangled. She hadn't anticipated this moment, and while she didn't know exactly how she felt yet, something about his confession stirred something inside her. She had always admired his confidence, but now, she was seeing a side of him that was raw, vulnerable, and undeniably genuine.

"I don't know what to say," Azra admitted, her voice quiet. "I didn't expect this from you. I... I need time to think. I'm not sure where I stand right now."

Yuzarsif nodded, his expression softening. "I understand. You don't have to say anything right now. I just wanted you to know that I'm here. And if you need time, take it. I'll wait."

Azra looked at him for a long moment, studying his face. She could see the sincerity in his eyes, the genuine emotion in his words. It was more than just attraction, more than just a fleeting moment. He really meant what he said.

"Thank you," she said quietly, her voice steady now. "For being honest with me."

Yuzarsif gave her a small smile. "I wouldn't have it any other way."

They sat in silence for a moment, the weight of the conversation settling between them. Azra didn't know where this would lead, but she was certain of one thing—Yuzarsif had just shown her a side of him she never expected, and it left her with more questions than answers.

As they both got up to leave, Azra felt the lingering tension in the air, a mix of uncertainty and hope. She wasn't sure what would come next, but one thing was clear—her world had shifted in a way she couldn't yet comprehend
