Billionaire's Hidden Legacy

Chapter 3: Chapter Three

Aurora seemed to just caught her breath. That was close...she looked towards the castle-like mansion next to her and asked, "I...I want to leave...I can stay at a hotel...Ah!"

Before she could finished her sentence, a black dark figure attacked her, pinching the back of her neck. The force was so much strong that she felt dizzy for a moment. "It hurts...I can walk by myself, I can walk by myself..."

"Aurora, let me remind you, I have no patience!" Maverick rudely pushed her away.

As they entered the mansion, Aurora felt small and insignificant. It was like an invisible, luxurious net was covering her from the sky, leaving her with nowhere to escape.

The foyer alone was larger than most people's apartments.

Aurora stood there, frozen, and intimidated. She had a feeling she knew where they were - Maverick's house.

Maverick casually threw his coat on the sofa, and his tall figure was clearly outlined by the shirt, but it was too aggressive.

Aurora's gaze dropped, memories of two years ago still etched in her mind. She knew what lay beneath his shirt - a chiseled, powerful physique that exuded raw sensuality.

The maid entered with a tray of drinks, placing it on the living room table.

"May I... leave now?" Aurora asked timidly, anxiety and fear trembling in her voice.

"Leave so soon?" Maverick's deep voice commanded her attention. "Let's have a drink!"

"I don't drink..." Aurora's voice trembled.

She was especially afraid of alcohol, because of the night three years ago. Had she not taken alcohol three years ago, she wouldn't have got pregnant.

"So, you're wasting my kindness?" Maverick's black eyes were filled with anger.

Aurora understood. Maverick was doing this on purpose. He wanted to torture her!

"No...p... please," Aurora resisted, backing away.

Maverick stepped forward, grabbed Aurora's arm, and threw her towards the coffee table. "Drink it!"

Ah!" Aurora cried out in pain.

"Don't tell me you didn't inherit your mother's talents?" His tone dripped with malice. "Didn't that woman from the Alexander Family teach you anything?"

Aurora's scalp was numb, fear was deeply embedded in her bones.

She gasped, "what do I need to do...to be let go?"

Maverick ignored her question, his gaze narrowed and wandered over her figure, his eyes flashing with a deep and eerie color. He leaned down , his thin lips murmuring in her ear, "I wonder if your body is more honest.

After speaking, he opened his mouth and bite directly on her bare shoulder.

"Ah!" Aurora shuddered violently, her throat choking.

"So cheap, huh?"

Aurora felt a burning sensation on her shoulder, not knowing if it was bitten through. After Maverick released his bite, her body went limp and leaned against Maverick's sturdy chest. Tears flowed from her eyes, weak, and helpless, "I was wrong, I should have left, please don't... don't torture me anymore.

Maverick held her chin firmly, lifting it up, "Begging for mercy is more dangerous than refusing in my presence."

"Why does it have to be me?" She asked, tears streaming down her face uncontrollably.

"You know very well. Huh? That bitch can't be touched yet, so I'll start with you! She doesn't love you, does she? Then I'll make you suffer a fate worse than death! She wouldn't care." Maverick viciously pinched her chin.

Baron actually threatened her with his life.

Good!

He would make them know what it means to be better off death.

Aurora sobbed, thinking her Mom was a home-wrecker, so she must be one too!

She had always been misunderstood like that, and no one could change Maverick's perception.

"When I was twelve... isn't that enough?"

"Never enough!" Maverick's vengeful tone was terrifying. "You better endure it well. If you dare die, she'll be the next!"

What had she done to deserve such cruelty?

Memories of her painful past flooded her mind. Her mother had abandoned her and her father for a wealthy man when she was just a child.

Just because her mother married into the Alexander family, Aurora's life had taken a drastic turn for the worse.

Maverick looked at her coldly, with a hint of sarcasm. With trembling hands, Aurora lifted the glass of alcohol to her mouth.

Suddenly, she threw the bottle of alcohol towards Maverick instead of drinking it. The bottle landed between the two of them, splashing the alcohol all over the floor, blocking Maverick's way.

Maverick's eyes flashed with a fierce glint as he shouted, "Catch her!"

Aurora was so scared that she ran even faster. As she ran out of the lobby, she saw the bodyguards coming towards her and quickly darted towards another direction. There was an exposed staircase on one side, and Aurora ran down it. However, it was difficult to run down the stairs in high heels, let alone in a hurry.

Suddenly, she lost her footing and fell down the stairs, screaming, "Ah!"

Maverick caught up and stood at the top of the stairs looking down at her coldly. At the bottom of the stairs, a Aurora lay on the ground, unconscious, with a broken forehead and blood flowing down her face.

•••

Aurora suddenly woke up, as if she had just escaped from a nightmare. she sat up, feeling dizzy. She touched her forehead and felt the gauze there. She remembered falling down the stairs and waking up in this strange room.

It was already dark outside... Aurora panicked, quickly getting out of the bed and went to the bathroom, still wearing the white one-shoulder dress that accentuated her curves.

On her exposed shoulder was a blood-red mark that was shocking to see.

It was a bite mark left by Maverick.

It looked like a blood-red birthmark.

It wouldn't fade for at least ten days.

It made her feel scared, with her hair standing on end.

And it only strengthened her resolve to leave!

Suddenly, a knock on the door broke the silence. She walked over tremblingly and opened it, expecting to see a familiar face. But instead, her gaze slowly lifted to meet the eyes of a different maid, standing poised in the doorway.

The maid cleared her throat at her and offered her a polite smile. "Dinner is ready, please come downstairs to the dinning room. Mr. Alex wants to have a dinner with you." She instructed.

"Mr. Alex?" Aurora's voice trembled slightly at the mention of his name. She would rather go hungry than share a meal with him.

"Please tell him I'm not feeling well," she said, feigning a weak tone. "I've lost my appetite."

With that, she swiftly retreated to the soft mattress, lying down in the hopes of avoiding any further interaction.

The maid's eyes widened, blinking repeatedly as if trying to process Aurora's response. "Huh? You're declining Mr. Alexander's offer?" she muttered, her voice laced with surprise.

Aurora gulped nervously and nodded curtly.

The maid retreated from the room, leaving Aurora alone with her thoughts.

"He's got some nerve," she fumed inwardly. "First, he takes away my freedom, seperate me from my kids and now he expects me to dine with him? Psychotic jerk."

Thinking about her kids, Aurora closed her eyes, her chest heaving with indignation. The thought of being apart from her children for the first time brought tears to Aurora's eyes.
