Born to Be a Secretary

chapter 76

As the weather grew noticeably colder, Apex’s exterior transformed into a new look.
Han Jinseo’s face was prominently displayed above the tall concrete walls. The giant display screen endlessly broadcasted his recently filmed new advertisement. True to the actor who had sparked the Korean Wave, the area in front of the company had become something of a tourist attraction.

Inside was no different. The first-floor lobby was entirely wrapped with photos of Han Jinseo. Everywhere you looked, only his face was visible. Moreover, the photos were so well done that even employees took selfies with their phone cameras. The effect of the new model seemed certain.
Just then, Youngjae Kwon, returning from an outside schedule, caught sight of this scene. He paused for a moment, observing the changed scenery. A fleeting look of discomfort crossed his stern face.
Heewon stood a step away, carefully watching Youngjae Kwon. His averted gaze captured the dizzying flood of photos plastered everywhere. It looked more like a shopping mall than a pharmaceutical company.

Since Kwon despised such a chaotic market-style appearance, it was natural that his mood was displeased.
As Executive Director Kwon started walking first, Heewon hurried to keep up with him. The moment they boarded the executive elevator, Kwon broke his long silence.
“What time is the advertisement shoot?”

“At five o’clock.”
“Secretary Kim. Do I really have to go?”
Without lifting his gaze from the floor indicator, Kwon spoke casually. He rarely brought up such matters, so it was clear he really didn’t want to go.

Heewon bit his lip, unsure what to answer. Kwon himself knew better than anyone that this was a fixed decision that could not be changed.
Today was the scheduled photoshoot for Han Jinseo’s print ad. Since the previously released CF had caused a huge sensation, the marketing team had been working hard to actively capitalize on the trend. They opened official social media and YouTube channels, regularly releasing unreleased videos and photos, with results far beyond expectations.
The problem was that the booming marketing team created a borderline reckless plan in the name of strategy. They proposed exposing Executive Director Kwon alongside actor Han Jinseo. The idea was to solidify the company image by showcasing a young, handsome dominant Alpha.

Kwon naturally rejected the plan at his level, but since the chairman strongly pushed for it, things ended up like this. Having to do an unwanted shoot, it was no wonder his mood was twisted.
All Heewon could do immediately was diligently assist Executive Director Kwon to make him feel as comfortable as possible. He straightened his back firmly, steeling himself. Fortunately, that was his specialty.
At five o’clock sharp, Executive Director Youngjae Kwon appeared exactly on time.

Upon entering the studio, his face twisted as if he had encountered a disaster. The dark interior was thick with swirling pheromones.
“The ventilation system is terrible.”
“That’s probably because it’s underground.”

Artistic fields naturally had many non-dominants. It was well known that the proportion of Omegas among them was quite high. Due to the workplace characteristics, no one hesitated to emit pheromones.
Heewon cautiously observed. The briefly pale complexion of Kwon, who looked quite bothered, concerned him. His hand reached toward the inside pocket of his jacket.
“Executive Director, I brought medicine just in case…”
“Forget it. Let’s just finish quickly and get out.”

He took a long stride forward. Upon spotting Executive Director Kwon, Director Park and the marketing team staff who had arrived earlier hurried over. Formal greetings followed.
Kwon’s usual sharp gaze fell on their faces.
“How long will the shoot take?”

“About two hours, we expect.”
“Let’s finish within an hour.”
As soon as he turned, the director came over and bowed deeply. It was only natural to stamp the advertiser’s presence.

“Executive Director! Thank you for coming all this way despite your busy schedule! I’m Kim Hyun—”
“Director Kim Hyunseok. Wouldn’t it be better to shoot even one cut faster at this hour?”
Cutting off the greeting abruptly, Kwon’s tone was cold. The director wore an awkward smile. He had already been warned that Executive Director Kwon was a cold man, but still he broke out in a sweat.

“We were just reorganizing briefly. Actor Han Jinseo is now changing costumes. About ten minutes… yes, probably that long.”
“……”
“Would you like to see today’s footage while you wait? This time it came out really well; I’m sure you’ll like it too—”

“I’m not interested.”
His gaze and tone were icy. Nearby, the marketing team was restless. They realized Kwon’s mood was sharper than ever.
Fortunately, the director was skilled at flattering and smoothly shifted the atmosphere.

“Oh Executive Director, you’re so handsome. As expected, a dominant Alpha is different. Your presence is extraordinary… haha, maybe you should star in the ad yourself?”
“……”
“I—I was just complimenting…”

When a fierce glare flew at him, the director scratched the back of his head, wondering if he had made some mistake. The mood froze, so Heewon stepped forward.
“Executive Director.”
He tapped firmly on Kwon’s rigid back from behind. With many eyes watching, it was a subtle hint to restrain himself.

At that moment, Han Jinseo, dressed in a new outfit, entered the studio followed by a group of staff. Seeing the clustered Apex people, he approached with a smiling face.
Han Jinseo immediately extended his right hand toward Kwon for a handshake.
“Nice to see you, Executive Director Kwon. We’ve been waiting for you for quite a while.”

Anyone would mistake them for close friends. Kwon shot a sharp glance at the outstretched hand but had no choice but to shake it.
Meanwhile, the staff hastened to prepare for filming. They moved to the spot where the lighting was set, handing the two steaming cups of coffee. The concept was simple: drink coffee together while discussing Apex pharmaceuticals. The two tall Alphas sitting in chairs looked impressive even at a glance.
After the marketing staff withdrew, a gimbal camera appeared. The director said they should talk comfortably without worrying about the camera.

“Comfortable, huh? With dozens of eyes watching, how could that be?”
Han Jinseo was used to such experiences and looked calm. Sipping hot coffee, he opened his mouth first.
“Do you act?”

“Not as well as people who make a living at it.”
“Hmm, you look like you have talent. That’s unexpected.”
Han Jinseo lightly curled the corner of his mouth. His raised gaze swept over the Apex employees surrounding them. Among them was a neighbor watching Kwon nervously.

“You two seem to get along well. Always sticking together like this?”
Although he didn’t directly say it, who he meant was obvious. Kwon lowered his gaze and snorted quietly.
“Curious about personal matters?”

“Yes, I like male Omegas. Especially those with boyfriends. It kind of sparks a sense of challenge.”
One corner of Kwon’s mouth lifted in a long smirk. Damn lunatic. He muttered a curse loud enough to be heard.
“Executive Director, you don’t share yours, right?”

It wasn’t even worth replying to. Kwon silently swallowed his coffee.
Despite Kwon’s consistent, perfect ignoring, Han Jinseo smiled as if it didn’t matter. He dangled the end of his leg on his knee, continuing the conversation by himself.
“You can tell at a glance. Probably wouldn’t sit with anyone else, hates mixing saliva.”

“Han Jinseo, you must like dirty things.”
Han Jinseo acknowledged with a knowing smile.
The marketing staff watching were at a loss. There was no point in filming this. All the conversations were useless.

“Um… excuse me, but can we change the topic?”
A staff member asked with great difficulty. Han Jinseo immediately uncrossed his legs and assumed the polished image of actor Han Jinseo. His friendly questions and tone were just as charming as on broadcast media. His acting skills were truly top-notch.
Kwon responded appropriately. His outward image was as false as Han Jinseo’s. /N_o_v_e_l_i_g_h_t/ Occasionally, a graceful smile was caught on camera.

“Thank you for your hard work. Let’s wrap up the shoot here!”
The shoot, which lasted about thirty minutes, ended. Amid the bustle of tidying up, Han Jinseo tapped Kwon’s shoulder. Leaning toward the fierce-eyed man, he whispered secretly.
“I’m fine with a threesome. With someone like you, Executive Director, rolling around together wouldn’t be so bad.”

He made a crude offer and quickly withdrew. Although they stepped apart, he had already drenched Kwon in overt Alpha pheromones.
“Interested?”
“Han Jinseo.”

Kwon slowly lifted his lowered gaze. His black eyes staring directly at Han Jinseo were bone-chillingly cold.
“Do you want to end your acting career?”
