MTLNOVEL Chapter 8: 7: Test of Faith
All of the breachers stared down at the immense height they were before they all started free falling downwards. A few screams of help as everyone descended downwards. Maya spread her body to glide and hover as she tried to figure out how she would land. The wind howling plus the screaming made it hard for her to think or hear Daisy's plea. She turned and caught Daisy's hand as they both streamlined their bodies.
"What are we gonna do?" Diasy asked.
"I don't know am tryna figure it out myself." She shouted. Looking down she could see a river flowing as the ground came closer. She remembered Alucards words;

"Daisy..... The test areas are still in Mundus, right?" She quickly asked.
"Yea...yeah since there are many plains that are directly leading to the centre of Mundus itself." Daisy answered. Maya looked down and looked back at Daisy.
"We are gonna dive in the river."
Daisy looked horrified at the idea.
"What!!? Even if we do the water is shallow. We'll die on impact." She said.
"Not if we have faith." Maya said. Remembering the notification she got when she unlocked her gift.
Gifts are evaluated and range depending on how close one's peripheral world is to Mundus, the closer the world, the higher the gift has influence in Mundus.
She broke from her streamlined position and went for a diving pose as her speed increased drastically, leaving Diasy a bit imbalanced. Maya used reality warp to increase her descent speed and as she closed her eyes and used her soul to connect to Mundus. A gold thread appeared as she held it and opened her eyes as she made first impact into the river causing a huge splash. Daisy could barely tell if she saw Maya but she trusted her words as she dove down as well. Other breachers realising the river being the only safe place to land fell along with the plan.
Back at the facility, Alucard walked in a room surrounded with other S ranked and higher class breachers sat and watched through the screens displayed the various test grounds for each breacher. Yama just leaned against the wall watching closely at the screen where Maya was being broadcasted. He's eyes barely looked at the screen as Alucard came by and asked him.
"You think she understood it?"
He let out a sigh and put his hands on his pockets as he looked at the screen.
"I don't think she did, I know she did." He said leaving, Alucard raised a brow and watched him walk away. The other breachers were busy murmuring while Freya watched silently.
"Aren't you gonna stay and watch her progress?" Alucard asked. Freya slightly turned her head hearing that.
"I only wish to see her hope trials, faith and belief are a guarantee. I've gone to get some air." He said with an irritated face that Alucard didn't see. Freya turned back to the screen as she saw Maya rise from the water. Maya let out a breath as she laid herself down and started to rapidly breath, the water wasn't normal, it felt like it drained her essence, she felt weak but the warm sun seemed to replenish her energy. As she slowly sat upwards, splashes from all directions were heard as the other breachers fell in the water at different speeds. Until one's trajectory was off and landed on the otherside with a huge splat. Maya looked a bit horrified and turned away from the crushed lifeless body as blood slowly seeped out before it turned to gold ashes. Diasy rose from the water holding a hand out to Maya, she quickly ran and pulled her out. Both breathing rapidly, she let out a sigh as Daisy laid down on the ground.
"That was scary." She said her eyes fluttering. Maya just looked at her as others emerged from the river struggling to reach land before speaking
"Yeah, I didn't expect the river to drain my essence. Some might drown if they don't channel it right."
"Yeah, your quick witted I'll give you that." She said chuckling.
Attention attention please.
At that sound, everybody looked up as they heard Alucard's voice.
Welcome to the first test, the test of faith, each one of you has to take a leap of faith from the end of the jungle to a nearby outcrop avoiding the largest chasm found in Mundus, mind you this is a test to ensure your faith with G.O.D is unwavering. Also time moves periodically faster in Mundus if it reaches sundown before all of you make that leap, your essence will be halved. Do whatever you can to make that leap. May Mundus be with you."
Everybody looked in disbelief as others started murmuring. Daisy flopped down to the ground.
"Guess that also has a hidden hint?" She asked sarcastically.
"Yeah let's just make it there in time." Maya said rising up. Daisy looked up astonished as Maya looked back puzzled.
"I can barely move my legs Maya." She said
Maya quickly looked around and saw most breachers remained down on the ground confirming her suspicions, around 26 others could stand up like her, a few hundred were motionless on the ground, as others died from impact or drowning in the draining river. Maya stared at the others who stood up, one guy with black hair wearing a white and blue sequent jumpsuit cleaning off the dust, one with grey hair wearing a white shirt and brown coat yawning, a girl with black hair wearing a green long dress slowly rose and stared back at her and also the others. It was a stand off to who made the first move, each wary of the other as they all stared at each other, sweat trickled down Maya's head down to her chin as the drop landed down, the girl made the first move as vines erupted from the ground and she rode them like a wave as she passed through the dense cover. The other two guys and other breachers slowly ran in the same direction, as those without strength shouted in anguish. Maya looked down at Daisy and saw her face turn a bit disappointed.
"I wouldn't blame you for leaving me, I'd only be hindrance right? So go on I'll catch up somehow." She said. Maya held her breath caught her hand and carried Daisy on her back.
"We said we are a team for this right, I never go back on my word." She said slowly running towards the dense forest. She was comparably slow compared to how fast the others were running. Daisy noticed but didn't say a word as Maya firmly gripped her.
"Hold on tight Daisy." She said before using reality warp giving her an immense speed boost. She ran so fast dodging different trees and plants, Daisy's eyes couldn't keep up as she held herself close to Maya. Other breachers suddenly heard the sonic boom from behind as Maya dashed past them, as they increased they're speed as well. They were almost reaching the end before as Maya's eyes adjusted and she leapt up in the air as the scene before her looked astonishing, the forest was vast from the cliff they jumped from, watching the other side of the river trickle down it's water as the chasm could clearly be seen from a distance, as the air felt refreshing and enticing to behold. Daisy slowly opened her eyes as the view left her mouth wide in astonishment. Freya watched from the screen, with a light smile on her face as she thought to herself.
